My uncle ordered his Maverick from there. Waited months for it to be ready, the day he went to pick it up, he got there and found out they sold his ordered hybrid. They gave him an XLT for the price of the XL from their oopsie. Though I'm going to be working with Golf Mill... Hopefully better.
I ordered one, waited a year and still got screwed by Honolulu Ford. They wanted 10k over the ordered price. The truck was now in the Tacoma price range. I passed on this overpriced, “basic” truck.
Talk to an attorney. I believe the dealer will have a hard time explaining to a judge how holding the Maverick hostage, even though it was was built specifically for you under your DL#, then unilaterally after your order deciding you owed another $10k is not a form of extortion.
There's no way they could win a defamation case against you if all your information is factual, and they would have to pay your court cost. I wouldn't care if they sued me it would even more of a bonus to spank the hell out them legally.
@Too Many Hobbies You can still ask an attorney what to do. Dealers get away with fraud when no one questions them. Then that empowers them to do it to the next buyer. Ford is already enacting very strict restrictions on dealerships, and has even revoked dealership status from a few across the country, mostly because of how they handled the F-150 Lightning.

Once they found out I did that they gave me my money back. Money for VIN etching that was never on the car. So if you're still having trouble with that dealership there's an option for you.
My co worker ordered an 2023 Maverick XL Hybrid 10 months ago and he finally got it. It was $500 for an online order and he paid exactly what they told him. MSRP was $24K, plus tax and license here in CA, and paid $27,100 out the door. No dealer mark ups. He’s happy with it.

My experience with Ford wasn’t very good. They even went far as showing me a Origami during negotiations by a sales person. Now I took that as pandering to a Asian person which I am. I was so mad what his real intentions were when he showed me the origami . Anyway I just walked out after that. He was asking is there something wrong and I just simply told him I no longer was interested in buying from this dealer.
You should put it out there that it was Huntley Ford that did this to you. They should be lambasted all over the place just like any other dealer that pulls these little stunts. They can't go bankrupt fast enough.
You can get a huge, full-size, heavy 2023 Ford F-150 and it can achieve Up to 18 city / 25 highway. There's no excuse for a small, light "car-truck" to get anything less than 30 MPG combined at all times. It's sickening. It's 2023, guys. MPG achievements need to be WAY better than they currently are. I drive a 2002 Chevy Prizm (base model, wish I had the LSi) and so far, I've gotten 32.7 MPG as my largest number. If I were getting a Maverick, which I'd like to because they're cool, I'd want the hybrid. 40 MPG city!
Thanks for sharing your experience. Did your Maverick come with any factory undercoating? I heard the undercarriage and sub frames rusts really quickly.
What ever happened with the CC chargeback? Having dealt with many from both sides, the dealer will most likely win if they pursue it since the 12 months was in the contract vs the buyer "claiming" they stated something else.

@@henrynlouisville1 If what he says is true, and I do believe him, why would he even need a defense lawyer as Truth is an absolute defense in any defamation action.
@@alexnutcasio936 Because dealers will waste your time by taking you to court and they have more money and time to battle it out in the legal system that I do. I left multiple written reviews all over the internet.
Why always blame Mexico about Ford quality problems. I have owned several Ford vehicles built here and have misalignment panels too, or big gaps between doors in one side and too narrow on the other side. Even bolts not tighten. So no blame Mexico. Blame your decision on buying Fords.
Ok just got my Maverick hybrid I guess I’m one of the lucky ones my dealer in Florida from the get go they told me 2,000 over Msrp . Agreed as long as the sales manager sighned the purchase order at the end they gave me a military discount for 500. I’ve been saving for this since I’m two years from retirement. I waited till it was shipped went to the dealer and paid for the truck in full and had them put paid in full on the order mine is a XLT after my extras taxes tag and delivery fee I paid 32,250 and I’m happy because I’ve been hearing horror stories man. This is why I believe a lot of dealers are going to close
All their positive reviews are so obviously fake. They need to be reported to ford. This is why all car buying should be online set price straight to consumer.
Turbo charged Ford engines just don't hold up. Look for a little smoke to be getting past the rings when you get into it a little bit by 100k miles. You should have taken advantage of the huge Tesla price decreases & IRA $7,500 rebate...or simply waited for the STAINLESS STEEL CyberTruck, which would have turned out to be the last truck of your lifetime.
Would calling Ford customer service in a situation like this have possibly helped? Would they be able to intervene/mediate at the time or even help you get some relief from an unethical dealer after the fact?
Lol dealer could have, how many trucks were on that dealers lot? It was full.of trucks. Gm and dodge same thing. How about the Toyota dealer 5 trucks all sold at sticker price.
Because people still buy from them, just like this video. The dealers will stop the nonsense when people stop giving them money. I know he had his reasons but at the end of the day, they made a sale.
@@matthewj2492 of course, but they don't want to cut the Ranger or F150 sales so they won't make more or make it easier to buy. Telling a custom that wants to buy one of your trucks no chance for maybe a year isn't the way to keep customers you've had for decades now. Ford is failing.
These things are going to age like milk. The undercarriage is made out of unprotected sheet metal, including the suspension components. In canada we only get the awd model
Your reluctance to name the Illinois dealership is disconcerting. Truth is an “ absolute” defense in any defamation action, libel ( written) or slander ( oral). If what you’re saying is true and I believe it is, then there’s no way they could win a defamation action against you.
Alex is offering to pay your defense lawyer. Take him up on it!
He clearly doesnt want the headache
What is the name of the dealer that you bought it from ?
Im in Illinois
It is a dealer west of Elgin and south of Woodstock.
South of Woodstock IL , West of Elgin :) !
What was the price out the door?
That is the cheapest looking upholstery I've seen since the early 1980's. All that hard plastic is going to start to squeak in about 3 years.
Reminds me of the ‘quality’ of my 1978 Ford Mustang II…
Are you going to tune it?
I can't say that I won't, lol.
wow, you really "think" it costs $20,000 cause you keep saying it. What did you pay for your Truck including Delivery fee?
All their positive reviews are so obviously fake. They need to be reported to ford. This is why all car buying should be online set price straight to consumer.
Turbo charged Ford engines just don't hold up. Look for a little smoke to be getting past the rings when you get into it a little bit by 100k miles. You should have taken advantage of the huge Tesla price decreases & IRA $7,500 rebate...or simply waited for the STAINLESS STEEL CyberTruck, which would have turned out to be the last truck of your lifetime.
It is Appropriate that he Filmed this next to a Dumpster ?
It's a modified Ford Escape chassis with a turbo = total junk
Very appropriate.
Would calling Ford customer service in a situation like this have possibly helped? Would they be able to intervene/mediate at the time or even help you get some relief from an unethical dealer after the fact?
Nope. If they could they would long ago.
I called Ford and they said they would reach out to the dealer but there is essentially nothing they can do.
Lol dealer could have, how many trucks were on that dealers lot? It was full.of trucks. Gm and dodge same thing. How about the Toyota dealer 5 trucks all sold at sticker price.
How do Ford Dealerships get away with dishonest dealings with their customers?
Because people still buy from them, just like this video. The dealers will stop the nonsense when people stop giving them money. I know he had his reasons but at the end of the day, they made a sale.
@@mracer69 - Ford could sell a million of these small trucks. But they make it as difficult as possible.
@@matthewj2492 of course, but they don't want to cut the Ranger or F150 sales so they won't make more or make it easier to buy. I helped my Father try to buy a base hybrid Maverick when they came out, he was going to buy a used truck but the base model entry price of $20k was too tempting. 7 dealers over 4 months and he finally gave up. I was stunned that people were willing to pay over sticker, much less $10k over for a base XL lol. Idiots. Very few people "have" to urgently buy a new car, if everyone just walked when dealers pulled this crap, they would QUICKLY stop. I had 2 good buying experiences at a dealerships, with about 50 bad experiences when trying to buy 3 cars. Can't see myself ever stepping foot in another.
@@mracer69 Wow, this is my same experience, my son went with me all over North Jersey for a base XL hybrid, could not find one. When we did the 22K price quickly went to 27, and with tax tags and fees we were over 30k! My mechanic said instead of 22k on a Ford find a used Ridgeline or Tacoma for 22k, went with a 2018 Ridgeline and its great. The Ford CEO just came out and said we have to learn to love small cars again! Hey, I tried to work with you guys, but you went out of your way to rip me off or have me wait 12 months to order one!
Ford went woke with EV's, probably gonna go broke. I was told I would have to wait 7 months just to get into the next order window, then who knows how long to wait. Telling a custom that wants to buy one of your trucks no chance for maybe a year isn't the way to keep customers you've had for decades now. Ford is failing.
Are you going to put corsa extreme mufflers on it? If so, I got a guy. 😂
These things are going to age like milk. The undercarriage is made out of unprotected sheet metal, including the suspension components. They skipped the undercoating and you're left with raw steel sheet metal suspension that's gonna rust faster than heck. If they had gone with cast aluminum suspension arms and such it wouldn't be so bad... but it is clear they cut corners everywhere. That interior screams I'm made of the cheapest junk available too.
Just a troll with nothing else to do
Maybe they wanted to piss you off on purpose so you walk and they could sell it to someone else for 10k over MSRP.
Exactly what they were trying to do.
This car is going to depreciate fast unlike better vehicles. You really got hosed on what will be a shetbox. You should have walked. It’s not a f-150.
what does the Dumpster comment mean????????
I'm calling the Ford garbage. lol
HUNTLEY FORD HUNLEY ILLINOIS
The Tremor is a bad joke. Unibody AWD is not for off roading.
Its not for rock crawling or any serious flexing but it actually handled moderate off-roading really well
That’s a pickup. Not a truck. An f350 is a pickup. Not a truck.
The dealer down the street from me has a ton of these. Rows and rows of all different prices and options.
No they don’t or you would name them.
@@alexnutcasio936 I call bs as well
It won't last 200k miles. I have a 2006 ford explorer with a 4.6 with 175k miles that will outlast the Mexican built ecoboost. Sorry to say there is no quality in Ford.
Baloney again, the Hyundai Santa Cruz DOES ACTUALLY EXIST. It is competitively priced with the truck you are showing here.
I don't care for the look of those, similarly optioned they are more expensive, and they have a slew of issues on their own.
Maybe someone other than the op can post the name of the stealership here in the comments section.
Luxury package without remote start on a key fob. What a joke Ford is.
Trucklet
Absolutely.
YOU TALKED A LOT HOW MUCH DID
YOU PAY FOR YOUR MAV.
Buy trucks made in USA only
Hmm... doesn't look like a Pinto with a trunk.
Waiting 16 months
I have Lariat Luxury FX4 4K tow on order with still no build date. I thought they removed the spray in bed liner from lux package do to “supply chain” issues? Was yours sprayed at factory or did you get it done after market?
You got fleeced bro. Ford quality just isn't there. 5 or 6 recalls on this truck model that isn't even 2 years old
All the recalls are minor and they're also all for the hybrid so they have nothing to do with his truck.
@@nodak81 Id say the hybrid is the more reliable engine option even. The 2.5 is legendary for it's durability.
I wouldn't even by a turbo from Honda...much less Ford
Unsubbed!
