I bought my wife a 2024 XLT in April 2.0, AWD and 4k tow package and love it a lot in cactus gray, so I just traded my 24 Badlands bronco sport in on a 24 Maverick azure gray, 2.0 AWD and 4k tow package, luxury package and love it! I even walked with a check for trading in my Bronco sport Badlands, that I won in a raffle.
I bought a 2024 Maverick XLT EcoBoost AWD back in December of 2023, the truck has a production build date of November 2023. I drove it in heavy Wisconsin snow, it never got stuck. I opened up the wastegate for some noise (see my videos) . It is the best small truck I've ever had. I get around 25 mpg city. There have been about four recalls but they were all minimal programming updates, nothing mechanical. I am six foot six inches tall and I have plenty of head room and leg room. I even got in the back seat comfortably
I also have the XL, but with the ecoboost engine. I love the truck. It drives and handles very good. I like the XLT, also, but don't think it is worth $2500 more than the XL.
I am thinking about getting the xl hybrid also would you ever say you regret not getting the xlt? Also any tips on add ons i should get that you wish you did?
@@legacy4496 I only got the full size spare, tow hitch, and rubber bed mat. I like my truck just the way it is. The XLT is a nice truck. I just don't need the extra options. It's really a matter of personal preference.
Brother, I know 6 people with new Mavericks. 5 are hybrids and 1 of them has the 2.0 AWD with 4 k and not one of them will ever tow!!! That's not who Ford made the Maverick for. They are all my co workers. I bought my 2022 almost 3 years ago and my co workers fell in love with it that they all have one.
Nice lol. I love my 23 XL hybrid, I don't even have a tow hitch on mine 🤣 but it can fit my mountain bike with the tailgate up, it's tight, but it fits. It has no problem carrying 1100lbs, it gets over 40mpg and the bed can fit a washer and dryer at the same time. All for cheaper than a Honda Civic for the bare bones XL trim. The maverick is the perfect vehicle at the perfect time.
I tow my dirt toy on camping weekends. Love it. Suzuki samurai crawler on a dual axle trailer. 4k tow package handles no problem. Only truck i can daily and tow
I did have a 2.0 4k and towed my side by side with it a few times on a 12ft trailer. Did wonderful, preferred using it to my 08 Silverado actually. I do agree that most people won’t though.
I have a 2023 XLT with the 2.0 eco boost. Don’t have all wheel drive. I get on average 30-31 mpg in just normal mixed driving. Probably 70% 2 lane roads 30% city. The 2023 xlt came with the keypad which is one of the best features I’ve ever had in a car. I don’t know why every car maker doesn’t have it. You know how you’re outside mowing your yard and you remember your sunglasses are in your truck but your truck keys are in the house? No problem, keypad to the rescue. That time your at the beach and all you need is your beach stuff and your worried about leaving your truck key lay in the bag with your beach stuff? No problem, lock them in the maverick and use the key pad to get back in. I love that feature so much and use it every day. It was funny your water bottle rolled in to the floor and one of the features the maverick has are dedicated water bottle holders in each door. If you have the right sized water bottle they snap right in. It’s the perfect sized truck for me. If I ever need to tow a trailer it would only be for a lawn mower or something.
Yes, I think your spot on. I would possibly put a couple of 250 dirt bikes in the back and that’s doable or possibly some kind of small trailer maybe those cheap little pop-up ones which is totally within the range under 1500 pounds.
XL on 24 is not that bare bone, if you optioned right with 360 and hitch. Even the lariat is missing many key features that Koreans have. So I'm okay with saving the money. XL is definitely the best value
I have a Red 2023 Ford Maverick Tremor XLT and it's fantastic.I am thinking about trading it in to get the 2025 Tremor because it's has adoptive cruze control and more safety features. Steel bumpers Positive: High off the ground Great vision Very powerful AC/ heat is great. Seats are fine
You are too low on your mpg for the ecoboost. I am averaging 28 to 29 on my 2024 Maverick XL with the 2.0 engine. I only have 2300 miles on the truck and have not taken any long trips yet. I am pretty sure the truck will get 30-32 mpg on long trips.
@@patpatpat1336 The EPA rates the truck at 23 city and 30 highway. I have found the computer readout for mpg does not often agree with the actual mpg when I check it at the pump.
I agree with others. Check the numbers at the pump with a calculator. It gets amazing MPG but best I’ve gotten is 30.5 all highway driving using premium gas 2WD ecoboost. I’m averaging 26.5 mixed driving even occasionally pulling a trailer. Towing it averages 18mpg which is excellent.
i had a XLT hybrid coming last year. i really liked my choice and accessories i ordered. the month it was to come in i passed on it to get a Hyundai Santa Cruz. better ride, much more luxurious interior, push button start, and most important living in the Northwest a rear window defrost. i found a used one with the SEL and activity package with 9k for 27K. better warranty even used. the only thing i miss about the Maverick i could have had is the milage.
I have a 2024 Maverick 2.0 Ecoboost AWD with tow package an spray in bed i love it but i think they over did the electric works there a lot you wouldn't use are need but overall its the right truck for me an my wife
I prefer the key over the push buttom but ive had all them. I opted for the ranger because i wanted to downsize to a smaller truck but still needed some basic towing capability. So i went for the ranger. The 2.3L moves hows the 2.0L
You gave the combined hybrid HP 191, but only mentioned the engine only torque which sounds low, but misses what a DC motor is great at - combined torque is 246 lb-ft based on Ford info and actual truck computer value to base % torque reading off of.
The all wheel drive system on the Maverick uses a driveshaft decoupler that doesn't work with the CVT. When I'm up in seventh or eighth gear on the highway, it disconnects the rear driveshaft to get better mileage.
You say the tailgate isn’t “damped”. You mentioned that why? Did you find the tailgate to be heavy? You do understand it’s a truck and not a minivan or suv. Lemme just say if you need a “damped” tailgate on a truck this small you’re not looking for a truck. You’re looking for a minivan or suv. JS
this was a good car review , but lately Ford has had so many recalls lately. my ecosport is going on a year and half with no remedy for the problem! bad oil pump tension pulley
You should also mention that the hybrid model has multiple TSBs and a recall for engine fires. And, the hybrid model weighs about 300 lbs more than the non hybrid. Most say that isnt a lot, but factor in a rear driveshaft, transfer case, and rear diff in the EcoBoost
It might start out actively combatting the high price of large trucks but they are already gouging by making the popular power train not standard anymore. Most want the hybrid and now they have to pay a premium….the price will go up and up based on popularity and greed as usual. Buy one while you can… If you want AWD the 2025 hybrid offers it now…at least in Canada
Change the oil every 5000k miles and you have no problems. Ford recommends 10k. People that have problems with turbos don’t do required maintenance and they pay for it.
what's with the shiny black exterior mirrors ? My 2022 has flat black which blend much better. all XLT models previously had exterior touch pad. Ford gets cheaper every year while prices balloon.
