Great video! Nice to see how both Punch Needle and Rug Hooking can work together, using the strengths of both. I think I might punch the background of an upcoming rug that will otherwise be hooked Thanks for the tip!

Thanks, you just verbalized well what I found I didn't like about punching. But, I like using yarn. Debbie

Thank you for this video, can you please tell me, what size or what kind of hook you used on this project?
    Than you so much.

Sure thing - I am using a 'primitive' or 'coarse' hook. The medium sized hook is a 5mm - a little smaller but better if you're working with a variety of cuts. The primitive is oftern too klunky with thinner strips. x

Newbie here...I thought one did the details first and then the background. Is that not correct? Thank you.

No. I do the opposite. There's no right way... see what seems right to you. It's not like needlepoint where you really need to work a certain way. Do what makes sense to you!××

Can you pleeeease explain how to hold the needle; turn the needle (or frame); thread comes out front- side- or what???? No one has actually shown to us beginners how to hold the needle - or maybe it’s just me. Thanks a bunch!!!!
