When she said special guest I was crossing my fingers so hard hoping it was you! You’re so freakin talented man, you deserve this attention! Congrats!🎉
I totally fell down CurryGoat's rabbit hole of inspiration!! Love his esthetic and encouraging positive vibes. Sourced a punch needle and supplies, just waiting to become something incredible. Great job Becky! Your video has given me confidence to quit procrastinating and make a rug too!!!
Ooookaaaay!!!! I loved this! I love the new diy technique! I love the originality of the tiger AND LOOOOOVE how this was like a mini collab that introduced us to Beckys inspo!! I will definitely be checking out this guys content !!!
Love how y'all are bringing in new voices like this, would love to see a larger format rollout with these interviews and then the SorryGirls execution!
I literally tried this out for the first time yesterday! I got a small kit from my friend for my Birthday and was wishing yesterday that you guys had a tutorial for a rug!! You heard my plea, like you always do. Loved this video!!!
I think I might have sewn down the edges (like those loop around edges) but that would take a LOOOOT of extra yarn and time. I really like the end result. I feel so inspired right now!
This is unquestionably the best DIY the sorry girls have ever done. Appreciate the ambitious scale, the detailed process research, and the complete and professional outcome.
Wow i really miss when youtubers did collabs i loved that you showcased another channel on this one also the rug came out great, might be a summer project for myself in summer after uni.
I LOVED this style of video - Becky’s DIYs are always amazing and giving a shoutout to another creator is such a great way to use your platform. Looks awesome!
I was so excited to see Denzel! I love his channel, he is incredibly talented and has inspired me so much. Your rug turned out really well, I would definitely buy that if I saw it in a store
Oooooo I can't wait!!😁 - - 90's😳😳 As I'm looking at the exact one around my toilet🤣🤣🤣🤣 - - Ok it came out so awesome! Its so crazy that the stuff we were doing in the 50's-80's have made such an awesome comeback. I know I sound old, but it's so true! I refer to the 50's from when my older siblings, aunts, and grandmom were doing them. But many of the things that were around in the 70's and 80's when I was growing up are super popular too. Well done! It's awesome looking. 😁😁🥰🥰
Totally cute! For the back tho, there are many different ways to finish off a project that are more long lasting. Like a whip stitch around the edges so the edge doesn’t fray. Or glueing back the edges first then lay down the felt. Also when it comes to glue, craft glue isn’t the best for floor projects because dries hard and it’s less easy to clean. I recommend spray glues or carpet clues. (And I’m not a random person saying this, I’ve been punch needling for almost 2 years now and this advice is from trial and error)
Awesome!!! Thank you so much for bringing Denzel on, that is the best way to use your platform!! I have been watching him for a few months now and he’s amazing. I’m really glad you’re shining a spotlight on smaller creators, especially those of color. I’m really impressed guys 😃
Great work, I used to do this with my grandma, we did shave the loobs at the end this way it would get even fluffier or you could use both techniques to get texture.
Great Job!!! I did one of these when I was 7 years old in the '70's !!! In keeping with the times, mine was a Shag Rug!!! Hahaha!!! It really IS super easy, and very rewarding! Great video! ❤
I found an old halfway completed punch rug in a junk store for $5. Loved it so much, even with the printed pattern showing through, that I framed it and have it on my wall. One of my favorite pieces of art. And it had a small old tag that I was able to trace to a department store that closed in 1950... so this rug kit was sold in the 1940s probably. It’s lovely with Japanese cherry blossoms on a sea green border. One day I’m sure this tiger will hang on someone’s wall as a treasured artwork.
WOW!!! Looks great!!! I did rug kits years ago which were very similar, but they had the design already printed and then everything you needed to make it. You were very ambitious and it paid off big time. Congrats!!!
OMGeezie! It came out soo DOPE!! This is one of the BEST DIYs you guys have ever done! Thanks for introducing your audience to the CurrieGoat! I’ve never heard of him til now!
I did a punch needle rug this last Christmas for my cousin !! Denzel videos were so so helpful love that you took on the challenge punch needle is work but so rewarding
I don’t really like videos where you guys show something you are learning but this one was awesome!!! Becky you literally inspired us to try Punch Needle. Love it! 🤍
Yay! I love to see diy RUclipsrs giving credit to their inspirations! Especially when it’s another diy RUclipsr! And it’s an extra special treat that you included him in the video!
Punch needling looks like a fun hobby to pick up. I can definitely see myself picking up this hobby. I just need to see if I can come up with any creative ideas.
I remember watching denzel’s video months ago when I first saw these rugs but I thought it’d be too hard... seeing you attempt it and get his approval too makes me want to try now!! I love that you reached out to him and got him involved in this video too!!
I have been watching your channel since the beginning and have never felt more compelled to do a DIY than after watching this video. OMG it was freaking amazing!!!!
For a rug suitable for a bathroom that is really washable I keep the loose ends in the back and sew them in a few inches before cutting. I don't use any glue or backing but I rolled the excess fabric in back and sewed it down. I have one that is 40 years old and the loops never pulled.
Wow Becky you nailed it and inspired me to start a completly new project, also thank you for introducing us a new artist, he seems so calm and inspiring. Please do more of these collabs
Holy tiger rug Batman!! You did such an amazing job on this one!! It looks designer made! I've been wanting to try rug punching for a long time and this video really inspired me to go ahead and do it already!!
Can we all just take a minute to appreciate TSG team work during these mad times?! they're coming out with A M A Z I N G content every single week even if they can't work together and at their own spaces. Thank you so much! I am really enjoing every single videos (as always !) and you're doing a very damn good job!!!!!!
Omg, I have never heard of this technique but it's amazing!! It looks like the process would be super meditative and really allow you to get into flow. Definitely want to try this!!
Rug hooking was one of the units in my Jr. Hi art class.( ours were made on burlap, not monk cloth) You brought back some old memories. The tiger looks great.
I love LOVE the actual shout out you have to the person who inspired you and taught you what you needed to know to make this video! This should be the example for all RUclipss on how to give actual credit to other creators ❤️
I wish they would give credit to the originators of this design, though. Don't get me wrong, I've been a fan of CurrieGOAT's youtube for a while, but he is not where the tiger rug came from. Google Tibetan Tiger Rugs - that's where the art comes from.
So chuffed you had Denzel on its so cool to have a black guy doing a craft like this, I did my degree in textile crafts specialising in embroidery. The tiger came out amazing! A bit too nice for next to the toilet!
Omg I’m so happy you tried this! I’ve been obsessing over punch needle for a while now but still haven’t taken the plunge to do it! You made it seem easy!
My grandma used to make rugs. Like runner sized. With cool geometric and colorful patterns. We still have most of them and one day I am going to steal one from my uncle, he has my favorite one, its manly a dark blue with white and dar red patterns. I used to watch my grandma make them when I was little, but I never tried it myself :)
I’m so excited!!! I want to try this so bad!!! I loved when u did felting!! I had tried it already and was so excited to see you do your pup!! So adorable.
The rug turned out AMAZING can’t believe this was your first one 💖 thanks so much for having me 😁✌🏿
Your work is amazing!
When she said special guest I was crossing my fingers so hard hoping it was you! You’re so freakin talented man, you deserve this attention! Congrats!🎉
thank you for all of your advice!! 🔥
So glad I found your channel through thesorrygirls you are crazy talented
Omg I love your videos
It’s so cool how you actually reached out to the RUclipsr that inspired you!! Amazing!
If only I could call them 😪
Totally. Especially love that they are amplifying a youtuber POC voice instead of just giving him credit in the bio. YES LADIES
Couldn’t agree more! Love that he was included in the video!
yes!!!!!
Me watching Becky draw: c o n c e r n e d
Me seeing final drawing: absolutely s c h o o l e d
It's ironic and kinda cool that your last name is Spacey and your comment stood out because you put extra spaces in... :)
I have only seen the initial drawing and so far it's looking like a pig but I have a feeling it'll get better...
@@katietatey haha thanks. I guess you’re right 😂
If this isn’t the definition of trust the process I don’t know what is

Same. I suddenly feel ancient.
Same! But honestly, I LOVE a rug under the toilet! Keeps ones feet warm!
Same... I didn’t realize these weren’t in style 😂
me too 👁👄👁
@@vini_renee not necessarily- they just get gross after a while i know I ditched mine! ;)
It's awesome that you not only credit the artist (for me he is) but also have a chat so we can know him better. Love the idea ❤️
I've been dying to try rug punching and yours turned out AMAZING!
I know. I think I’m going to do it! Here came out so good
I wanted the kitchen reno end, but I'm okay with this too
me too haha
She said it’s delayed due to covid
@@cfloster wow, thanks for letting me know.
You unlocked an ancient childhood memory of the weird rug that fit perfectly round the toilet in the 90s 😱😂💖
I really enjoy watching Becky's projects.
That style that Becky drew the tiger in is like old Asia, I love it so much
I thought it looked a bit of "Ancient India".
Really turned out well.
@@m.maclellan7147 Yes! That's more specific to what I was saying, I like it
I adore CurrieGOAT's channel, this is awesome!
I have been a watcher of CurrieGOAT for ages! So when Becky referenced him, AND THEN CALLED HIM, my brain went full:
“A CROSSOVER EPISODE?” 🤯
