I appreciate you mentioning which tools you're "most scared of". I don't think there are many examples of truly effective and creative makers who provide such an authentic look at what making things can be like. I've been putting off finishing a project because I am scared of using a particular tool on my own. I guess I never realized people familiar with the tools can be scared of them and still work with them anyways, like that was normal. Seems silly now that I think of it.

To be honest, even as a little home DIY'er- not really having used any big workshop tools and mostly just various sizes of hand-held ones: having that fear is a good thing because it shows you respect the tool and what it can do- especially if it's mishandled!
Hopefully you've finished that project and have a little more confidence with the showstopping tool! :3

What if the blade breaks when I activate the second step and it goes at full speed. Nothing happens if it breaks, I know that.
But a speeding 188"x1½" blade can seem a little scary.

Hello there Antoine Delaporte , I’m Trent OFlaherty responding to your reply of this wonderful piece of engineering .
I too have no engineering degree but am dog-legged determined to try finishing off an awkward piece . My math is a tad short of correct usage of part formula & as one person past mentioned finding the cosec would give me more accurate measurements than having them all close to - ( ie North Pole ) in Spherical Trig.
My project is marking out an 11 equally spaced hendecagon . Although I believe this poss , I’m marking around a sphere rad 84 of which I believe would be made easier if it was some multiple of 5 or 10 considering the square root of 5 is used in pentagons.
My icsohedron is much like this lady’s project above. I’m at a very close result however I am curious if my sphere should be different size for a starter.
Due to my wood turning, measurement is critical as I’m reducing each of the 11 spines numerical order in antipodes -mainly for counterbalancing .
I’d like to send some pictures if you can assist as this is not the norm . Trent O’Flaherty - - ptoflaherty@ yahoo.com.au

One thing, to reduce the sweat and reduce the wear and teat, you can reduce the friction by adding parafine (rub a candle stick) in the slots. It is an old way to prevent drawers to get stuck. It works well on zippers too.
