Hey MCM Gang. We're making our own mods by dumpster diving for this new series on the Peugeot, while the Swift will get legit JDM parts before they go head to head in a Cash vs Trash final battle. We hope you enjoy it!
Wanna support the show? We've got a new range of all black merch which you can check out here and it'd make our day if you grabbed something. Thank you! mightycarmods.com/collections/black-edition

I like this but once its all over I would also like to see what happens if the cars are switched. Of course that would involve buying two sets of mods each - so probably a no go on financial grounds - but it might give a better idea if it was the money or the chassis' adapting to mods giving the edge.

OEM+ is always a good starting point for a cheap wheel upgrade. If there are higher trim levels of your car that have better factory wheels, you can sometimes pick them up cheap through online marketplaces or even at the junkyard.

This. On my mitsubishi (legnum) i put EVO 8 enkei wheels because the fitment is perfect, found them for a great price and they are a quality cast. On my Talon I put Stealth wheels because again, fitment is perfect and price was amazing.
I don't find it reasonable to spend thousands on brand new wheels and tires. I always buy 2nd hand because it's what I can afford and it's better for the environment. Keep recycling, one man's trash is another man's treasure!

Certainly. Sometimes, you can also get wheels that are a huge upgrade from another model from the same make. Example: my 2005 Subaru Outback XT has 17" wheels from a 2013 Subaru BRZ. They fit perfectly and are a great upgrade for the car. Better Tire options and OEM impact resistance help greatly.

Feel like I have to say that the issue with Marty's wheel cracking is nothing whatsoever to do with it being made of recycled metal, it's about the ductility of the metal (how far it will deform before fracturing). Those cheap (and old wheels) would have been cast and cooled very quickly, which results in larger crystalline structure of the metal and as a result, lower ductility.

It's interesting to see your track builds going for really expensive 17" TC105s, as most (if not all) track build ZC31s' here in Asia are running on 15" or maximum 16" wheels. The most notorious ones here in Singapore run 15" wheels so it'll be interesting to see how your build turns out! I used to run 17s and 16s on mine and I've got to say I preferred my 16s. I would have thought a bit "outside the box" with the wheels , I would have looked for a hub with the same stud pattern as the swift for the Purjo , then made them fit with a bearing resize or a bit of machining to suit if needed . That would make for a cheaper swap over even with a bit of machining paid for with a set of second hand wheels because of the availability of that stud pattern using second hand hubs 😉. It would be even better if you have the skills and tooling to machine the parts yourself or have a good friend that can do it for mates rates as I do .

The Mk6 (Gen V) Fiesta ST uses the Pug wheel pattern 4 x 108. Pug wheels have a much wider offset from my research into getting some for my ford. Be interested to see how you get on and how well they sit in the well. Watching keenly!

Another well made episode beginning a series that's going to be great. Disappointed though to watch an episode about wheels and tyres but at no point are we shown each vehicle once installed.

when you throw €3000 into the 206... it starts to be fun. b12 suspension, harder stabilizers... finished head (catcam) and modified intake and exhaust system... it costs way under €3000. this tu5jp is a very good engine

4x108 were on the Dentist Jet, too. So Peugeot, Ford, Saab, and limited Volvo. Super common.

I know this video is old, but I find that a happy-medium is the way to go if you are on a budget. I scored some 2nd hand R32 GTR wheels for my 240sx, and they worked out amazingly.

considering the wildly different stock wheels i wonder if not the track times would close in allot simply because of the added corner traction

The Peugeot is already perfect and fast so it doesn't need expensive parts 😂 But that swift is going to need a lot to compete against the Peugbro 🏎️

I hope you'll have a conclusion video maybe with a 3rd car that's like the result of this video on what stuff to spend money on and what to sort of go cheaper. I understand the comparison with the same tires. But I would have loved to see some zestinos or federals cause the cost comparison between the two is huge. For autox guys we use cheaper tires thst wear faster for test and practice sessions cause they are cheap. Keep the nice and sticky ones for trials and points!

I love how we see youtube videos of something that used to resemble a wheel and people repair unimaginable damage. Here we have the expert and he cant fix a crack...
The cheap wheels will absolutely work with a professional repair. Also wouldn cost as much as another 2nd hand car.
