Moog Knows that Peugeot also has a race pedigree? If I am not mistaken this style Peugeot was raced in WRC for many years. So if anything, race pedigree is equal to that of the Suzuki. 😎
At the end of the series I want to see Marty and Moog sell their cars and see who lost the most money. Maybe that’s an idea for another series: how to mod a car to maximize profit when flipping it.
that'd be cool, but i also have a supercharged swift sport that i wanna donate to Moog as i don't have space for it anymore as i did want to convert it to RWD as a track skid pig
I think upgrading to a better OEM seat is definitely the way to go for a road car with occasional use for track days. But why is Moog making fun of the Peugeots „missing“ racing pedigree? The 206 faired pretty well in the World Rally Championship.
Yup....the 206 has far bigger racing pedigree than the swift can even dream of. Biggest achievement of the Swift was winning the JUNIOR WRC....with S1600 class cars
Not a full on seat, but my cat loved sleeping on a child's booster seat that I had lying around after it was no longer needed. It was like a little mini racing bucket in some senses. LOL
I'd always wanted a set of Recaro SR3's for my JZZ30 Soarer Twin turbo. I saved and got a pair. For me, it was the style I was always after. I guess if you don't mind cheaper seats that's fine but for me, it's somewhere you spend alot of time, and want comfort as well as safety. Recaro being such a well known brand.
Great video. I did something similar to Marty with my Mk2 Golf with R32 conversion. It's a road car for occasional track use and I upgraded the seats by swapping my rubbish GTI seats with VW Corrado VR6 seats. They have much bigger bolsters and side supports and sit lower, plus are direct bolt in fit. But... they're leather so you slide around in them. So need to get them re-trimmed to get the best out of them. Mine cost me £100, so similar to Marty's.
This is a surprise.. They're right, it's the "trash" on this one. Marty got a killer deal. (just say no to Toxoplasmosis). Those Bride seats, we'll be seein' them in future projects, for sure.
At this price point (for the cars), Trash has to win this round. I used a cheap $50 Magna seat for a driving simulator for years, super uncomfortable, but damn was it fun.

Interesting how the years have changed Marty and Moog. Ages ago when Marty bought the Polo GTI Blue Euro Turd it wasn't viewed very highly because it didn't "feel" exciting. Seems like now that car with its factory bolstered seats, massive (comparatively here) turbocharged engine, excellent factory brakes and aftermarket parts availability would seem like a mad bargain. The change in perspective to every car can be cool if you mod it mentality shown here is awesome. Thinking about that made me realise it'd be pretty cool to see a Blue Euro Turd return as a surprise challenger. They can be picked up in Australia for half of what the Swift cost and give both nuggets a run for their money.
3rd option especially for a track car that’s often on the road or used in grassroots motorsport is slightly out of date fia approved buckets. Often the lower cost entry level motorsport requires seats and harnesses and they accept these
19:42 an interior ep would be awesome to see. Marty can strip the pug to bare metal whilst Moog must replace any trim peices with lighter weight parts Go team baguette
Trash wins this time! Those seats look really nice for factory seats. Bride are nice n all but who has $2500AUD to spend on a seat for a street car that may see the track a few times a year!? Great episode.
Ive got factory installed SR3 Recaros in my DC2 Integra Type R, the same seats Moog put in the 180SX. The extra support and bolstering is exceptional and incredibly useful during the few times Ive taken it to the track. They've got a bit more bolstering than the Peugeot seats and are also a lot lighter. However unless I was building a dedicated track only car, I dont think I could justify the price on those brides, not to mention I honestly have always thought that Bride seats and that stitching look *really* ugly and tacky. So something more middle ground is probably where Id go.
The RC seats qre very snug. My favourites are from a 405 gtx. Comfortable but very supportive. Its interesting that they didnt buy a gti 180. But it wouldnt have been much of a competition then as the 180 would have been significantly faster
ghi 180 would crush the swift... even the lower spec gti would kill the swift... superior chassis period. using the absolute base model not really a fair fight, but reckon the dynamics might just see the Peugeot beat the swift... would be sweet irony after its been bagged constantly
Enjoying this series, shame you couldn’t get a GTI to compare as the Swift is the sports version where the 206 is a bog standard car. Can’t wait for the next instalment.🙂👍🏻
My buddy has a 2004 Sti and his driver seat was really bad but his passenger seat was like new (he’s a single guy) so he ordered seats from a JDM Sti and because they are RHD their passenger seat replaced his driver seat and was like new . So now he has two almost new seats in his 2004 Sti .
I installed tbSTI seats into my Subaru Liberty and the difference in bolstering was huge - I no longer have to brace myself using the dead pedal around corners and my lower back gets much less fatigued. Going from a leather seat bottom to fabric is also much more comfortable in the summer as my legs aren't getting stuck to the seat anymore. Bought the pair for $350 and sold my original seats for $150, so only $200 for what was a massive comfort and driveability upgrade was a great deal.
The Suzuki is shaping up nicely! But the Peugbro has a soft spot in everyone's heart simply because it's just thrash and everyone can relate being poor AF trying to mod a car. Loving this series guys, keep up the good work!

Often the lower cost entry level motorsport requires seats and harnesses and they accept these
Loving this series guys!
19:42 an interior ep would be awesome to see.
Marty can strip the pug to bare metal whilst Moog must replace any trim peices with lighter weight parts
Go team baguette
Covering all the basis! Love it
I reckon those carbon BRIDEs are going into the 180 after this series haha
Quickly becoming a new fave from you guys, everytime I get the notification everything gets dropped
A seat will give you less time and you don’t have to brace yourself. I got 3seconds around Phillip island with harness and velo seat. Well worth it
Enjoying this series, shame you couldn’t get a GTI to compare as the Swift is the sports version where the 206 is a bog standard car.
Martys seats re-covered in black alcantara - still less than 1000 bucks, race car look & feel and cat-hair free 😁 RIP Bella...
