- Mt. Edziza Provincial park is a volcanic complex that was active as little as 1,300 years ago. The Tahltan First Nations people have been living in this area since 10,000 years ago. This area was important to them for gathering Obsidian to make tools and weapons. Presently, access is very difficult and it is normally recommended to take a float plane into it.

This should be on Netflix. Foresty has really worked hard to bring us places we can only dream of. Thank you
Thank-you!
Way better than Cram Handcock droning on....
Screw pay for view Netflix. Utube is the platform of choice for winners. 👍 Foresty Forest Rocks ! 👏
It’s on RUclips. You think Netflix is the apotheosis of online tv like production?
Simon, this series is reminding me of your bicycle tour series. I love your documentary film style and your narration is my favorite. I can’t say thank you enough for all you do.
its interesting how often an unassuming, soft spoken, peace loving (not necessarily muscle bound or macho) person has the biggest balls and has the passion to do the most strenuous, dangerous, physically challenging undertakings...born out of pure love and passion for nature..
Big respect Foresty
Literally.
Amen
And knowing that he survived to edit and post the video is always a great relief. Magnificent video work, with or without a drone. Can't get enough Rocko!
He is definitely US Navy SEAL quality. He has the right stuff, never say never and lives the adage “the only easy day was yesterday”
Super big respect Foresty! Cheering you on in the states!
My wife and two other women spent a week navigating their way across the volcanic moonscape of Mt Edziza back in 2011. Just after starting the trek she came down with some sort of a stomach bug but managed to complete the backpack. It was a wild time seeing caribou and bears, they even managed to get lost at one point. The ladies arrived at Telegraph Creek 6 days later and called across, as instructed, for their prearranged boat ride over the mighty Stikine River. She was 58 at the time. Pretty proud of that girl.
The Swiss Army of trail dogs, perfect! Rocco just keeps getting more adorable the older she gets. You and her are the perfect pair. Thank you for always making us smile!
I love the regular ten- to fifteen-minute videos, but this was epic, and it made total sense to do it as a single video. Thanks for all your hard work, Simon. I am always conscious that for every trip you take, you've also got to set up all the shots and take the footage that is later transformed into these experiences. It must be exhausting, and it's much appreciated.
Thanks!
AMAZING for sure
every once in a while I get a little shock that his name is actually Simon. Still won’t get over that its not Forest
Amen & Ditto to Everything that’s said about you Simon ! I admire your dedication, skill, courage, love & perseverance making these videos. Appreciate your hard work & inconveniences bringing them to life. Thank you for the awe & joy you give us when you publish
Foresty and Rocko. Canadian national treasures. 🇨🇦
Right on!
Hear. HEAR!
That has to be about the shittiest hike I've ever seen anyone take. Grizzly bears, constant bugs, slogging through freezing water and sticky mud. Full credit to you FF for fully 'embracing the suck' of this hike, and thanks for taking us with you!
The Bears definitely Shit in the Woods!
Your attitude has to be "I love the way this sucks!"
If you're really hard core you get to "I wish this would suck more!"
I guess the beauty of the area made you overlook all those crappy hazards....Yuck--not for me, but you are one tough cookie!
Love the fact that adverts are a minimum, product placment seems natural, and Foresty makes enough to continue his lifestyle without the need to milk it. Just makes the whole thing a wholesome viewing experience. Love it. Highlight of the week in our household. Thanks for doing what you do.
Thank you!
Adverts? I never see any.
Yes you can tell it’s all 100% genuine and just doing it for the sake of doing things he loves to do. Pretty rare I think. Most people are trying to embellish their existence and it comes across as not being genuine
It seems like the other van lifers try too hard to get people to watch their videos, with all the advertisements they have on their channels, but not foresty, he is good enough to watch without the drama, keep doing what you're doing
My RUclips gets interrupted 3-5 times during his uploads. Yes, I'm watching these from Japan - so that could be why.
You really picked the right kind of dog for all ways you hike. And what a winner she is.
Would like to see Rocko's reaction if Foresty took her to a City Dog Park, Really!
Foresty Forest..
He lives in a van!
He has a net on his head, a pack on his back, and a camera in hand..
Foresty Forest..
Life on his own terms!
He has a dog named Rocko, a bike named Bike-o, and a raft named Siiink-ohhhh!
WAAAAOOOOOOW Foresty Forest!
Showing people how it's done!
Own what you need, live by a creed, more nature pleeease.
Foresty forest!
That’s a perfect song for Forestys intro … love it
The chainsaw is more iconic.
Nicely Done
Nice!!!
Wow I love this little jingle
Congratulations on 400,000 subscribers, Foresty!
Break open that bottle of champagne and we will all say a collective CHEERS to the best content creator on RUclips! 🍾 🎉
So, I know Foresty always survives these adventures because they get posted on RUclips after-the-fact, but I still get the cold sweats every time he runs into wildlife like bears. Thankfully he has Rocko to protect him.
Omg same i almost had a heart attack when i saw that bear
If you live in BC and hike you'll encounter bears regularly. Nothing to be afraid of, but be respectful of.
It’s nice to see someone who has a healthy respect for bears but not a unfounded fear.
I live in grizzly country. Contrary to popular belief, there is NOT a grizzly behind every tree.
I am convinced Rocko is living a life better than most dogs could even imagine! Adventure on! Congrats on 400k right around the corner. Well deserved and a huge feat. to be celebrated.
Rocko is living a life better than most humans could ever imagine....
@@Chunky246.... exactly what I was thinking 😂❤
@@Chunky246 that's what I was going to say!
She's the Swiss Army Knife of Adventure Dogs!
😭
What a great shot of her standing on the rock by the flowers. She is the swiss army knife of adventure dogs. What a slog of a hike, appreciate the ride, paddle & hike along.
Modern day Indiana JOnes. The adventures of a young man and his dog named Rocko, trek through the elements of northern Canada, wading through muck, traversing in his blow up boat, fighting off grizzlies, and mosquitoes, climbing the highest peaks and live to tell about it all. while filming the entirety.. Just fascinating to watch. A true hero amongst us.
That bear looking at Forestry on the bike, oh nice Uber Eats delivery!
Rocko..."like the swiss army knife of adventure dogs". She is amazing for sure.
I used to backpack with my German Sheppard and I remember how she knew exactly where my remote off trail campsite was from the year before. She led me right to it.
Foresty , you are amongst the elite .. with the Edmond Hillary, Earnest Shackelton, David Thompson, Alexander Mackenzie... I am in awe of your tenacity and endurance. Thank you for dragging my lazy ass along on your explorations.
Wow a whole 38 minutes of Foresty and Rocko! Life is good!
You are a BEAST! There will be documentaries made about you!
Dude you are an absolute bad ass. Don't know how you do the things you do. Just amazing.
The Swiss Army Knife of adventure dogs. Thanks Foresty and Rocko. 😊
"I remember seeing that mysterious foot path to the south- I just can't let things like that go." I salute you, Foresty Forest and faithful companion, Rocko.
I like the swimming moose, very cool!
Me too! It was a treat seeing that😊
6:52 Time for a Rocko swimming lesson to wash that crud off!
33:46 Always amazes me when you are able to backtrack thru the thickest bush and find your stuff!
I believe he drops a GPS pin when he stashes stuff. So that at least gets him close to it. I wonder if he also takes a picture of the area to help his memory.
@@robadams1645Roco knows where he leaves stuff.
Incredible! It takes guts to go out into the wilderness alone like that. Thanks for entertaining us for all these years.
This channel ain't a marathon challenge.
You know the drill: Foresty Forest he lives in a van, Foresty Forest!
Practically 400k subs! Take a bow Foresty and Rocko, you deserve it.
Sitting on my recliner with AC blasting, watching Simon pick mosquitos out of his coffee, slogging through knee deep marshes, starting to feel a little guilty...
Me, too on the guilt. I officially feel like a sloth, now!
This is why I hike after mid august when the bugs have gone. 15 miles is the absolute max for me. I'll let Mr. Forest take on the tougher stuff.
Gnarly AF!
I'm so amazed that you found the mosquito net again. But i shouldn't be surprised by now, after seeing all you've done. You've conquered the gauntlet yet again.
So incredible
Every time I watch your vids I get motivated to go explore something. You are an inspiration! Also I’ll play your videos on the TV for my dog and he is obsessed
Foresty Forest - King of the mountain tops.
The intro shots of Rocko over looking the mountains and you on the summit were just awesome.
In celebration of 400,000 subscribers and because that was better than any movie I've recently seen.
i could watch a foresty marathon of these hikes. way better then any nature channel show. loved this!
This episode made me tear up, it's so beautiful. The sights, the objective, the two protagonists - a perfect combination.
Holy Cow Foresty !!!!! What an adventure !!! Usually I'm chillin watching your videos and enjoying the views, but this one had me on the edge of my seat !!! Gorgeous scenery !!! Rocko is the Bomb !!!!! She also finds your shoes, wards off bear attacks and you don't have to bring as much food as you would for a bigger dog !!! Happy Adventure !!!!
Friday Night at the Movies! Tonight was Epic Adventure night! Spectacular cinematography, tons of trekkin’, wildlife watchin’, sandal suckin swamps, freestylin’ Foresty, resiliently regal
Rocko, and Canadian mosquitos trying to get hopped up on caffeine! Also, that food looked amazing!!!! They need to ship to the U.S.! Thanks for taking us along on this one. It was epic in every sense of the word!!! 😊
Something I've noticed while watching some of your very early videos is your vocal change. I can tell, through my profession, when someone's vocal pattern is strained from talking too much. Early in your career on this channel, by the end of the day you were struggling. Nowadays you talk all day without much problems. It might be only a little thing to most, unnoticed by the majority, but it's another accomplishment on your long journey.
This was a great watch. Thanks, Simon.
A 40MINUTE EPISODE ON A FRIDAY NIGHT?!?!?!? LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
😅
Great post😊
Another incredibly epic video - adventure, scenery, great videography, a rickety bridge, a bear, struggle. I feel so fortunate to be a viewer, thank you.
No presh, Foresty, but please feel free to do more of these extended, 30-plus minute episodes. This was great.
"Really feels inadequate", but of course Foresty is going to send it anyway! Cheers on yet another wild adventure, and Rocko truly has proven herself your equal. 👏👏👏👏👏🤘🍻
Thank goodness I know that if you have posted the video, you and Rocko got through safely. I still get nervous watching these sometimes. But, what a total treat for the senses! You are an amazing cinematographer. Just love this channel! Love you and Rocko!🤗
One of your best videos to date! That scenery, amazing. You're a trooper for surviving those mosquitoes. People who haven't been to northern BC this time of year can't comprehend what it's like. Thank you for sharing, and can't wait to see your next adventure. 🍻
It was so good to see you and Rocko on this big adventure and I enjoyed a longer length video too. I bet you had to give her a good wash and dry before she hopped into bed with you! Being able to see the scenery and even your close-up shots of those pretty wildflowers and succulents was great and much appreciated. You have worked hard to bring this to your viewers. Bye for now, and hope you are well.
After a long, long work week. I have a quiet evening to myself, and kicking back with a video of Foresty & Rocko, living thier best life.... I'll take it.
Radical adventurers you are a wild man. You can tell the bugs are bad when they are in your morning coffee.
Oh, dang, I kinda wanted to see the hotel and beer. I think there's a nice satisfying ending to seeing you reach refreshment. Regardless, thank you for sharing this with us. Folks who could never physically manage what you're doing get to see what it's like. You're so skilled!
Unfortunately I didn't achieve either of those goals 😅 closest hotel was booked up, beer store was closed.
@@forestyforest I am very sorry to hear that! I really hope you did eventually treat yourself when next something was in range and open.
@@forestyforest. Shame next time pre book before a long strenuous trip , Well done , great to see some wild places without much human dominance . Thanks for documenting these places .
Legendary status earned and maintained!Wow,just wow.Have indulged all ur adventures.Love Canada and all you real Canadians.Awe n respect from a like minded Australian.❤
Can’t thank you enough for taking us along on your adventures!
The Forresty and Rocko adventure just keeps getting better and better. Quality work, Simon.
Thanks!
What an adventure! With all the craziness going on in the world, It's soothing to watch your videos and be reminded of the natural beauty within this country.
Just finished the Lake Superior Coastal Trail (with our dog). Sit down on the couch after the 9 hour drive home, open RUclips and see Foresty doing something 100 times more impressive. Great stuff.
Every now and then I see a vid that is just too good for You Tube. This is one of them. A full scale documentary could be inspired by this vid Simon.
Nothing better than a new Foresty upload! Hope you and Rocko are doing great.
Thank you so much Foresry and Roco ❤
Side note: i wouldn't have been able to fall back asleep after Roco went bonkers that night. 😢.... such a good girl, she scared that big thing away.
Sasquatch?
@@russellwhitford6849 might be better than a big bear?
Kayaking, biking, hiking, mountain climbing, bears - what an absolute adventure. Thank you Foresty!
Congrats on recovering that mosquito net, looks pretty thick in there. And the bears!!!
Great captures (cool sunset capture @23:03 & Zenith @25:19 glacial fracture @27:07 to name just a few) & super content - as usual!
Nice plug for “Fresh Trek”.
Cheers to U & R, stay well you two!
Rob
wow, what a journey!! Thank you for sharing Foresty! Rocko was so adorable when she laid on your elbow while you were paddling, what a companion!
I would never do this. I prefer to watch you do it. Thanks for taking us along. Be safe, and enjoy that beer!
“The Swiss army knife of dogs” 😂. Little Rocko you rock❤ Rocko is also a decorator with her hole addition to the tent!
You got a new intro which is nice. You know Simon. I won't see it in my lifetime, but you and your Wonder Hound will be in the Canadian history books. You just wait and see. There's not many people doing this. There's documentary it on film. You're about to write about it or whatever, but you're going to be in Canadian history. Not in my lifetime. Definitely in yours. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦🐕🐻🐻
Exploring The Spectrum would be a great title for your autobiography
Fearless Foresty! All the best to you and your little Buddy.
Absolutely amazing trip, hike and really cinematographic. This the top and I was on the edge of my seat! BRAVO!!!
Hey Foresty! Thanks for the spectacular adventure. The summary at the beginning and a little format change was very nice. Can't wait to see what You and Rocko do next. Lots of bears in those woods... Be careful. :)
Putting the venture back in adventure. Go foresty go.
Foresty Forest ❤ watching from 14,000’ in the Colorado Rockies
Rocko bites holes through your tent in a fit of frantic desperation of defense, and FORESTY is just like, yeah, something big was walking around us last night. Don’t know what it is. 😱😱😱
Bigfoot
Dear Simon. A day later, and I finish watching your incredible hike. Two peaks! No, 3! Rockos nose found the way again and this viewer was glad you descended the peaks safely, avoided glacial danger, returned to that 'random' landing and that your bike was good to go. You show us glorious mountains while sharing your own goodness. I am grateful for this Simon. God bless you and love you. T .
Well said I agree ☝️
Seeing that moose swimming with mtns in background is EPIC!
6 days no people, amazing! My dream!
Really fun to watch! Missed you both..cheers 🍺
What an adventure! Terriers are terrific little companions. Your description of Rocko is perfect. You sure do some scary stuff and you have me on the edge of my seat sometimes. Excellent video. Stay safe!
Stunning achievement, bravo 👏 There aren't many people who can say "that's all there is to it" nearing the end of an incredibly challenging 92 mile wild country adventure. You're truly a legend.
Forest...You have to Know HOW MUCH You are Appreciated by Us that Are Now Disabled & Are No longer Afforded the Option to Do these BEAUTIFUL ADVENTURES...Much Love & Blessings..Climb On ❤
Nothing better than a Friday Foresty drop!!!
Another amazing Foresty/Rocko adventure. What a great start to our day.
Thank you Simon. You take us to incredible places. It is so beautiful. Those mosquitos look rough.
What a great video! Appreciate the work behind this, allowing us to come along for a bigger-than-normal adventure.
Rocko & Simon ...
a modern day Lewis and Clark
🏕 🛶
A modern day David Thompson - look him up - 56,000 miles vs 8,000 miles Lewis and Clarke
That bridge crossing sounded intense, bro! Can't believe you squeezed the van through there.
You are SUPERMAN OF ALL ADVENTURES!!! ANOTHER AWESOME VIDEO!!!🎉🎉🎉 Rocco is a ROCK STAR!!!!❤❤
With the quality of your filming and editing, the effort you put in for the good shots, if you released this in the theatre, I would pay to see it and I wouldn't be the only one. People are really hungry for REAL reality over acting and you are the best at it on RUclips in my opinion. Thank You So Much for all of your hard work.
When I watch you on some of the risky stuff, like the loose rocks it scares me. Then I just remind myself, Forests got back because he posted the video! So yeah, be safe out there! Loved watching Rock taking a nap in an alpine meadow!
My very brave Foresty and Rocco. Be well, be safe and continue on ❤
Hey dude. This shit looks casual but is very badass. Good channel. Others don’t realize how far out from what normal people are willing to do you are. In a good way. You the man
Bloody epic mate. What an adventure, you're a god damn legend.
Extraordinary, exciting, enlightening... Oh, the places you and Rocko go. It's hard to watch it all the way through with out stopping, going back, and making sure I've seen what I've really seen. Thanks for sharing your adventurous life. Thanks for taking the time to film - so often I see something challenging you do and have to remind myself "and now, he comes back for the camera and then goes forward again". Generous - that's how I think of you. Generous with your time and humor, sharing your life. Thanks again!
A hot shower and a cold beer, well-deserved. That was a good one thank you.❤
That was epic and all that one could want in an adventure. Rocko is the best dog for you. Take care, Al
Been a very long week, I have the evening to myself. Kicking back and watching Foresty, do Foresty things. Life is good.
Love seeing a longer video from ya, Foresty. This one was great. I'm happy it was just black bear you ran into, because that wilderness looked a bit wild. Stay safe, bud.
I had to take a quick look at the end to make sure they made it back safely. Video packed with adventure! Felt every second of it! Luv Rocko! Perfect dog companion! 😊
Amazing! Foresty and Rocko the Knife out on another awesome adventure! ❤❤❤
Well, every time I think that was my favorite video yet, you do an even better one that then becomes my favorite video yet. Thanks for all your hard work.
Legendary ForestyForest marathon video!
HURRAH! Just what I needed was a trip with my two FAVORITE! Thanks for being here! OX From the ole lady in Montana!
Having watched just about every episode Foresty has made, I rate this one the best! He has taken me to a place I will never get to, making it a real adventure. I feel this type of trip is perfect for Foresty and would encourage him to do more like this. I really enjoyed it and a big thank you for all your hard work both in making the trip and in the hours of video editing you put into it.
Epic! It's so cool that you were able to get a video of the moose. Thanks for sharing your adventure! 😊
