Absolutely next level adventure, filming and resilience mate. Massive respect to you and Rocco.
This looks like most uncomfortable hike I’ve ever seen you make. The mosquitoes 🦟 look prehistoric. You are a trooper!!
What a journey Simon. A friend on mine was a ranger up in Dease Lake and said to me that some guy went out there last year solo and they still haven't found him. Just insane man, I can't even imaging doing that hike without the plane, glad you made it back safe and sound and what incredible scenery.
Thats scary. Its a huge area.. if you simply step 50 feet off the trail, chances are nobody will ever find you.
@@forestyforest "I lost the trail. I'm officially bushwhacking."
"This is the farthest out I've ever been."
I'm glad you got through that ok. Just a day in the life of FF.
Don’t deadname him. He is Foresty Forest now
@@thisisabot9920 deadname? FF is trans now? GTFO.
My wife and two other women spent 6 days crossing Mt Edziza Provincial Park using gps and compass back in 2011. They eventually reconnected with the trail system around Buckley Lake that would take them down to the Stikine river and the village of Telegraph Creek. The funny part was that they did get “lost” for a few hours when they took a wrong turn on the flooded trail.
Dude,I've been watching for a couple of years and this is the best one so far. the dynamic duo of Foresty Forest and Rocko the Wonder Dog on a 4 day High Adventure was a pleasure to watch ,she really is the perfect companion for you. That was an amazing trip , the sense of remoteness must be awesome.Keep on keeping' on , thanks so much for taking me along.
This one made me quite nervous and it was exciting and beautiful. Thank you for taking such good care of Rocco and please NEVER risk your safety for the sake of making a video or anything else! ❤
I was saving this one for the perfect time, to give it the attention and the respect that such a “hike” and effort deserves, much like I used to do for the epic bike rides that FF completed earlier on in his channel’s history. Today was that day. Feeling lousy after my cancer treatment. What can you say about our friend and my fellow Ontarian Foresty that hasn’t already been said? Nothing really. When I was younger (I’m now 52) I fantasized about leaving small-town Ontario to buy some land on the north shore of Lake Superior to live off-grid (before that was even a word) and self-sufficiently. The thought of living in a van, with all of the basic creature comforts one might need in life, never even crossed my mind. Was it even a thing people did 25 years ago? I never followed through and the fantasy of a life on the north shore of Lake Superior fizzled. Finding Foresty Forest, this incredible Canadian human, revived the spirit of that dream in me. I suspect he has revived the spirit of many different versions of that same dream in the many who watch his exploits. He is my younger self, who actually took the leap of faith, and is living what I consider to be his best life. Irreplaceable memories made. He is a special kind of person in the best sense. One in a million, if not more rare. A Canadian treasure indeed. I am grateful to have found him. I will be in his (missing) passenger seat for as long as I can be or until Foresty decides to become Simon once again and move from van life to fulfill a new dream that doesn’t include us. Either way I am ever grateful for what Foresty goes through “for us.” Safe travels and much love Foresty, from Ottawa 🇨🇦
Beautiful words Matt. I hope you're feeling better today, take care.
@@vespermartini2556 Thank you Vesper. I’m doing okay today. Hope the very same for you.

This one looked gnarly as hell. I'm usually jealous of your adventures but bushwhacking through that level of swamp is where I think I draw the line
I *LOVE* the way you take care of Rocko! When I saw you carrying her in your coat with the bug net over her head too, I exhaled a little giggle and fell in love with you/your channel just that much more!
******
Your channel is the only one that I watch on fullscreen (laptop) and wish I had a 90-inch TV to watch it on, lol. Your adventures are epic and I look forward to all of them! ps. I wish you could have flown your drone as well because you do an incredible job and the views are breathtaking!
Oooh, the Loons are wonderful! You are so brave and a expert hiker/trekker! Rocko is a trooper.
This is the kind of trip dreams are made of man. You went out there and you saw things most people never will, and then you let us witness some of it. Truly amazing trip.
Legendary stuff! My body literally could not travel that far, and yet, the most difficult looking aspect of this trip appeared to be the bugs... My god those bugs...
We lived in Alberta for a number of years and camped in the Rockies a lot . If they showed the bugs on the travel photos I swear it would keep down the tourist numbers lol . I remember particularly going up to Mt Robson , beautiful day , blue lake and sky . the picture postcard , except for the millions of bugs of all sizes !!
Thank you... breaking trail through snow suddenly seems so reasonable compared to dealing with infinite swarms of bugs 😅
@@forestyforest Bush Whack?
that looked brutal, I hope he wasn't Pincushiony Pincushion after that
Mind over matter
That cariboo was huge! and the loons calling on the lake were so beautiful. Thanks for capturing that. I was fascinated by the age and erosion lines on that glacier ice. So ancient looking. Glad you made up and back safely, and that the damn black flies and mosquitos didn't suck you dry!
I’m so proud of you, you’ve come such a long way since the beginning and now with your sidekick somehow she makes it even better. I’m so glad your in a bigger van, I was tired of getting claustrophobic just watching you. Lol. Take care keep up the incredible videos my friend and be safe.

Rocko is a trouper. I don't know is she was just born to be the free spirit you allow her to be or if she had to adapt to it, either way, she seems calm when needed and also faithfully follows you along when needed. You 2 are perfect together. She is gonna experience so much nature over her lifetime I can't imagine there will be any regrets when her life is over. Hell, she has already experienced more than many of us. I have ZERO summits and she already has 17. My black was perfect for me and Rocko is perfect for you. Dogs are just the perfect companion. I got 17 great years from my lab, I hope you get as many or more from Rocko.🐕
That’s a serious journey. The remoteness really ups the consequences.
Foresty, you are one in a million. Thank you so much for taking us along on your adventures. Priceless. Take a much deserved rest! And give Rocko extra kisses from all her fans!
Congratulations on the summit! What a journey--amazing scenery! You're super tough both mentally and physically. Good show.
I have so much respect for the amount of care and concern you give for Rocko's safety on these trips, especially given her relative inexperience with hiking due to her young age. I've seen so many other RUclipsrs put their dogs in dangerous situations, but you always have her well-being in mind first. It's really nice to see. :)
Edziza... This has been on our bucket list for 2 decades. You are legend 🐺
Go, film and post it for us who will never even dream of something like that. Good luck.
I've seen Coco and Coffee several times from 30000 ft from the comfort of an Air North 737. Not a bug anywhere......
Your a legend Forest
Hey Foresty Forest:
Every year in March, the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour comes to a town near me, and I simply love it. It is one of the high points of the year for me (one of these years, I plan to get to Banff for the festival). Have you thought about making a film to enter in the Banff Film Festival? I think that the videos that you produce are as good or better than many of the films that I have seen at the World Tour events that I have attended through the years.
I don’t comment a whole lot on RUclips vlogs but I just want to say thank you so much for taking us on your ventures it’s absolutely awesome and stunning take care and please be safe 🙏😊
Thanks for taking us along on your adventure. Easily one of my fave episodes.
Thank you Silver Cabin, take care!
Some of those beautiful shots with cinder cones & glaciers reminded me of Iceland.
Thanks for filming the trek so we can all enjoy it, without any mosquito nets!
Forestry Forest does so much for us! All those back shots of tracking through the swampy areas means he had to go back to get the camera. 😮 Couldn't have been me.
Loved the video! Such a great adventure.
That took some real dedication. I work out in the bush just east of that area, and that country and those mosquitoes are no joke. Great content and some amazing images of a part of the country few get to see. Kudos to you.
Wow! Beautiful video! Thanks for taking this old lady along on your adventures with your precious little buddy.
Good evening from Godley Texas, the average person would have quit long ago. You and Rocco are an inspiration. Stay safe and happy travels 😎
Mate I’m in Finland, I thought that the mozzies were bad, nothing like what you have just been through! The effort that you make to bring us with you is amazing! Cheers !
Absolutely gorgeous place! I’m a rockhound, so much obsidian would be going home with me😂. Rocko is my spirit animal, I would be rolling in the moss too. Thanks for bringing us along with you Foresty. Hugs & love to you and Rocko❤️❤️
Wow. This video was great. Who needs TV?
You are a bloody LEGEND, man. You keep inspiring me to push forward. Thank you!
Thank you!
It's admirable that you did this without a guide and without a helicopter. What makes it great, truly great is that you filmed it all so well too. You're a good storyteller, it's rare that good storytellers have such strong legs too! :-)
What a trip! Hats off to your tenacity! Rocco doesn’t know how to quit - something she must have learned from you. Thank-you for sharing the journey and Congratulations!
Thank you. She is a tough little dog thats for sure. A lot of the time she leads the way.

Holy crap dude, that was a big one. Glad you made it through safely, and I'm glad you felt good enough to make this trip. I'm super impressed with how well behaved Rocco is compared to what I imagined she'd be. Love your life. Thanks for always taking us along. Can't believe where you leave the camera sometimes knowing you have to backtrack to get it. Good call on the river crossing on not having camera out. We would much rather you be safe than showing us that. Incredible place once you got in there. So serene and beautiful.
I chuckled when I saw Rocko in the mosquito netting. Foresty is a great dad!
Such a majestic landscape. Thanks as always for bringing us along.
What a great video from start to finish! Great hike man!
what an epic journey, thanks for bringing us along. Until your next adventure.
Thanks!
I can't believe you did so much backtracking in the swamp to get that great footage! You are amazing!
Why do I get Frodo/Sam Lord of the Rings vibe seeing you two trekking thru terrains?
I guess I 'm nuts. This made me cry. Rocko is so amazing. Hats off to you both.
I cannot believe how well you chronicled this journey. Truly phenomenal. 👏 What an epic adventure. Such blissful serenity once you made it out of the swampy areas. All your hikes are amazing and this one put it way over the top. I was a bit concerned about the swampy areas and hoping you didn't get stuck. I once got stuck in muck with no help in sight. It was grueling getting out and I admit scary. Took me hours. You really take care of Rocko. Those mosquitos were horrible. Thank you for sharing. Your channel is my favorite of all.
Foresty, this episode reminded me of Iohan when he was biking on the ice road (Mackenzie River). So brutal & so amazing to watch. I'm not sure which one is better (or worse lol) - hiking during summer with lots of mosquitos plus the swamps or biking during winter when it's super cold. Those energy bars you brought, I would have eaten all of them in the first day of hiking. 🍻✌
🤣 yup (energy bars)! Then constipation for the next 2 weeks! Ugh.
WOW so awesome and the trust Rocko has with you. She appeared so calm when carrying her across the rushing water. The two of you are definitely a great pair. I think she wanted to try to carry the skeleton back for you lol
wow! not enough superlatives in the language for this trip. You and Rocko are amazing, the amount of energy you have and your willingness to overcome whatever obstacles lie in the way of getting to the heart of a place like this. Congrats on a great trip and a spectacular video!
Wow! What a EPIC adventure! Omgness a insane amount of mosquitoes! Looks so brutal.
What an epic adventure! We drove through that area back in 1989 when the Cassiar "highway" was still a gravel road, it was great to see it again, thanks so much for taking us along.
Thank you for all the effort you put in to film this content! its truly amazing!
WOW.... I've watched many of your videos this is one of my favorites, watched from start to finish, very interesting area, great pace to the video, held my attention all the way through. You know your into the video when you catch yourself leaning in closer to the computer screen thinking your actually there, caught myself doing that watching this one. Good luck on all your travels Rocko included.👍👍
Wow Simon. Incredible footage, and Rocko is such a trooper. You made a great choice when picking a hiking partner. 🌈🐲💖
WHAT AN UPLOAD!!!!!!!! I knew there were volcanos in BC, but never knew there was an area that looked like Mars! What a beauty.
I wish there was drone footage, but maybe I can find helicopter footage online.
Holy. Cow. Incredible. I kept having to remind myself that since I was watching this video, you made it back safe. Those mosquitoes make the ones here in the Everglades look tiny. Great job!
If some scriptwriter wanted to come up with the perfect nightmare for me, it would involve wading through a Northern BC swamp with swarms of evil bugs. Thanks for showing this Foresty, and now can we get on to something more pleasant, please?
thanks for the incredible adventure, Forest! Rocko looks likes she doing great... make sure you feed your head... peace.
I know you're just living your life and doing your thing but man you are so cool. Thanks for allowing me to live vicariously through your adventures. Freaking awesome man.
It is mind blowing to me seeing the terrain you went through. 4 days/130km is absolutely crazy stuff. You're a legend!
8:11...'yeah I can understand how some people would pay for a helicopter' 😂😂 I must admit I did have a chuckle at that! Watching you go through the bog and marsh had me wincing! Hope the feet held up! So pleased your return went so well. Inspirational and fantastic to see you beaming when back in the van! Thanks once again for taking us all along!
Wow, that was brutal with those bugs & swamp land. Much respect for seeing it thru.💪 #forestystrong

Man, I wish I was fit enough, motivated enough, living in canada enough, and had my own rocco enough to do this stuff. It's looks like an amazing place to be for a few hours.
Ha ha this comment definitely made me laugh enough! 🤣🤣
Man just watching this makes me tired, it must be so hard hiking that long while capturing it on video. The result is amazing though! Good job Foresty and Rocco 😃
Excellent! That trek looked like a real hard slog from my couch.
There are approximately 10 Quintillion insects on earth, or about 1.5 Trillion for every human. Foresty showed us that ratio is accurate in this video.
Wow, that was some amazing scenery. It reminded me of the High Sierra and Haleakala at the same time.
Damn dude. Don't think I've seen you go through more harsh terrain. Badass, The legend grows. Oh, and you too, not just Rocko. ;)
So good of you to take us along in your adventures. Love your channel and all the work that goes into your videos... Thanks to you and Rocko.
