Not in a million lifetimes could i attempt such a dangerous pursuit. A whole lot of those rocks looked like they could peel away at any given moment. Fantastic, immersive footage.
As a 21 year old, I just went to the mountains for the first time in my life (The Tatras). I didn't do any challenging trails, because of my poor condition. I almost cried going on a 1546 m above sea level trail, because I found it to be so challenging to me perosnally. But damn, was it rewarding! Now I can't stop thinking about the mountains and I want to get back there and push my limits. Mountains are amazing, they made me want to work out so I can go up there with ease, like other tourists I saw. Now I keep watching videos about Alps, Himalayas, and other impressive mountain ranges, hoping that one day I can be the one up there. This video also evoked such feelings in me. I can't wait to get back on the mountains! Thank you for amazing content that keeps my dream alive.
wow dude, same here (22 yo), was hiking from Kuznice to "Dolina Pięciu Stawów Polskich" (up to 2100m I believe) at the end of October. I found myself watching all the videos about hiking and climbing after that trip. Definitely want to go back somewhere in May 2025.
You HAVE to climb Orla Perć trail in Tatras! It's the most difficult trail on polish side of Tatras but believe me, it's so rewarding. It starts on Zawrat and ends on Krzyżne, kinda difficult peaks. All of them are over 2000m asl but man, the views are insane. I'm gonna do it this summer i hope, i want to walk all of Orla Perć trail. I've been on Zadni Granat, Pośredni Granat and Skrajny Granat. When you start climbing on the ridge it get's so beautiful, word's won't even explain how perfect it was. Man I miss those mountains :c
I solo climbed the Matterhorn in August this year, I started doing alpine climbs in January, I am pretty proud of the achievement only 7 months after starting alpinism. The greatest thing I have ever done, still feels like a dream. Writing these words help :)
I would also only do it solo. Most people call me crazy for my solo climbs - but this is when I feel the most free- and safer than attached to another person with a rope, who I have to blindly trust.
@@Lotterboy I agree, it may not be the standard way of doing things but in my view and after I've already climbed it, I wold say being roped in the Matterhorn is completely useless 90% of the time, specially in the lower sections until you reach the shoulder above Solvay
@@Aerodave11 would you give some advice on the set up for soloing it? Im new to climbing and mountaineering so is kinda hard for me to understand the technics used in solo climb
@@Dvp971 I am no expert by any means but I can give you my personal path to the summit and some general advice. Firstly you need to be very confortable with heights and exposure. I would suggest you do rock climbing, the grade in the Matterhorn is much lower than sports climbing but you need to be confortable with vertical exposure. Also the body technics used in climbing deffinetely help with scrambling. You need proper fitness as well, climbing this thing is no joke, it will take you to the limit. Obviously weather considerations and conditions near the summit. You need good technic with crampons and ice axe as the top sections are covered in ice and snow all year round and it is very exposed here as well, any miss step with the crampons in these sections will be fatal specially soloing. For soloing you don't need any of the technics used as a team, but the way down will be much safer and faster if you have a rope and know how to rapel with minimum equipment (I didn't bring the rope but I suggest you do). Also you need to acclimatize, the previous days to climbing the Matterhorn I did de Aiguille d'Entreves (3,600m) and Dent du Geant (4,000) from Torino hut (3,000m), Italy. You need to get used to alpine environments, the exposure in the Matterhorn is constant and it may drain you mentally more than physically and you are by your own. Also very important to study the route, if you don't follow the route precisely the risk of falling increases exponentially because decayed terrain. In brief you need: rock climbing, basic alpinism course (use of crampons and ice axe, auto arrest technic, etc), edges and ridges course (you will learn the technics to belay rapell etc with minimum equipment for general mountaneering). Practice edges and ridges as a team and solo to get ready for Matterhorn. I have posted in my instagram how the day I climbed the Matterhorn went down in case you want to have a look and understand a little bit more about the actual experience @davidclrt
@@Lotterboy Yes I hear ya, feel only safe when not attached to someone else. I climbed many mountains by myself and the Mont Blanc 3 times.. but solo. So very relatable!
My first and last real climb was the matterhorn in 2015. Even though I had a guide, still kinda dumb doing this without any experience :D Watching this took me back and made me relive those moments, thanks!
Great video dude! One suggestion: in my opinion you don’t need the epic music all the time. I think it‘s far more immersive when you just hear the ambient sounds of the mountains while climbing!

Love the Matterhorn. I was lucky to work a season in Zermatt. I used to sit on my balcony every morning watching the sun light up the face. Good memories!
@Samuel-to9mu My setup was just my harness, a few Caribeaners, belay device and two personal anchors for switching between fixed sections. I recommend larger Caribeaners too- they will slide over some of the protected portion of the fixed ropes without snagging. A short ice ax works best and I brought a 60m rope but a 40m would have been sufficient. Route finding up was easy, no need to look around unless you are anchored. Pay lots of attention to the route though, route finding down was tough and it's a legitimate maze on the way down. I paced myself and didn't have any grip issues. I rappelled a lot on the way down which was time consuming and probably could have down climbed a lot more. If you have the chance go up to the glacier and climb the Breithorn and Pollux/Castor to get used to the altitude. Other than that just stay focused, keep a steady pace, watch your footing and enjoy yourself.

Great climb. The different climbing cultures are interesting. It’s more rare to see fixed aid like the giant fixed rope and ladder in North America where I did most of my climbing. As a young Colorado kid the Disney film about the first ascent of the Matterhorn sparked my interest in climbing when I was 8 or 9 years old. I never got around to doing it unfortunately but it’s fun to live it by proxy.
I think this mostly due to the fact of the Matterhorn being so popular that fixed ropes and ladders are needed to allow more people to summit. Hope you get to climb it one day!
Man so cool seeing this, last year my family and I went and stayed in that beautiful city, mountain biking out there was easily the coolest place I’ve ever gone on two wheels, thanks for posting to make me feel like I was back again.
Yep. From far away you could never guess the true nature of the moutain; i.e. just an accumulation of small rocks on top one on another. Not like these big granite walls you can find somewhere else in the alps (Grande Jorasse)

Incredible video and incredible accomplishment! I proposed at the base of the Matterhorn and we saw climbers that July day. Your video allowed a first hand ride up there! Thanks for posting!
I really enjoyed watching your climb over what looked like quite challenging terrain.. I would have liked to see how you got down from the summit, its one thing to pull yourself up there but another to lower yourself safely down. I wondered if you repelled down or just crab scrambled backward...
Hello everyone I congratulate you on the wonderful mountain tours. Thank you for the wonderful film. It brings back unforgettable memories. I wish you wonderful mountain tours. With alpine greetings Raphael Wellig
Every rock in that video looked loose. I wonder how many years the peak will survive with erosion. A small video on a computer is terrifying, I can't imagine what it would be like to do that.
Wow, that was one of the best climbing vids I've seen...... thoroughly enjoyed it. No way I could do that physically or mentally. My heart was racing and I was getting anxious just watching! I've done minor climbs and coming down is way scarier than going up. Any climber knows what I mean. Great job boys.
Fantastic video and congrats! Thank you for fabulous narration and views. I only wish your music wasn’t louder than your narration…made it difficult to hear everything.
Switzerland is my favorite country because of this video, I always dreamed of mountain climbing, the only mounts I been to were in oregon, U.S, larch mountain and mt hood
Amazing video! It's fantastic to watch dreams come true. Got to climb it in July 2021 which had been a dream for me since seeing the mountain in 1970. :-) Solvey to the top is definitely pretty airy! Glad you didn't need crampons until after the shoulder. We had them on from the Solvey to the top. You're right - definitely a bit more adrenaline pump. Fun memories watching the video and like everyone else, really appreciate the professional editing and footage. Keep it up!
This is one of the best videos of an ascent via the Hornlike Ridge that I have seen. Congratulations. I only ever had one chance at it, but big snowfall just prior to attempt made it far too dangerous for our ability; I reckon we could , maybe, have done it with your conditions ( and your excellent guide! ). Far far too old now so I am loving all the modern stuff, drones etc.

Can you show the descent as well? Pretty curious to see how difficult it was to climb down a mountain like this.
beautifully shot with respectful commentary. thanks for sharing
Incredible journey! Excited to see what you do next.
Well done, lovely video of a great adventure. Thanks for sharing.
I cant even climb a ladder. Im so scared of heights. I felt sick watching. It looks terrifying. God bless you all.
This is amazing 🔥 I applaud you for the the amount of work it must take to crank out this level of content
Incredible video!!
The coolest mountaineering video i have ever seen 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🥹🥹love from india 🇮🇳!!
Hello everyone
I congratulate you on the wonderful mountain tours.
Thank you for the wonderful film. It brings back unforgettable memories. I wish you wonderful mountain tours.
With alpine greetings

I enjoyed every moment of this video. Thank you 🤩
Very good video. Nice watch with my morning coffee before going for my run. Motivation is always appreciated. Thanks again.
My favourite mountain all my life. I've never seen it in real life.Thank you❤ [Glad you got to see it all the way down.]
excellent vid. would be interested in the descent since up is only half the way. could you rappel the sketchy parts?
An excellent video. Congratulations on your achievement and more importantly the hard work that went in to it.
Insane, my heart was in my heart just watching this. Absolutely awesome 🤩
Wow, very intense ! Makes my climb of Snowdon the other week look like a walk in the park. Well done mate. 🇬🇧
I loved your use of google earth! Great video and awesome hike!
I was terrified just watching! Great vid.
AWESOME, WATCHING THIS MAKES ME WANNA GO CLIMBING AGAIN!
I'm not a climber but thoroughly enjoyed this. Wonderful job. Thanks
Most underrated channel
Beautiful footage of your route! What a great destination! Thumbs up and greetings from Canada!
Every rock in that video looked loose. I wonder how many years the peak will survive with erosion. A small video on a computer is terrifying, I can't imagine what it would be like to do that.
Great practice for Striding Edge on Helvellyn :) Seriously, that last ridge walk...OMG!
Nice work Joey, cool that our community of sharing experiences is growing and growing! Good luck with your future projects!
Congratulations🎉🎉 from your family in Virginia that was incredible I'm so glad Eddie posted this on Facebook so I found your channel
Amazing video of your adventure. The final knife edge to the summit was terrifying. 😮
Fantastic video and congrats! Thank you for fabulous narration and views. I only wish your music wasn’t louder than your narration…made it difficult to hear everything.
What a Movie Just wow and congrats man it was a real pleasure to watch
Absolutely incredible. Excellent work!
Switzerland is my favorite country because of this video, I always dreamed of mountain climbing, the only mounts I been to were in oregon, U.S, larch mountain and mt hood
Fantastic video mate, very cinematic, and what an adventure!
Loved this, its been on my radar since I summited Mt Blanc a few weeks ago
Absolutely Amazing. I totally enjoyed this. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Thanks for sharing your experience.
The background music was a bit loud but awesome climb. I missed out on a lot because of my insane fear of heights
What a rush !!!! Thank you!!!!🤯🇺🇸
Wowww that's an extreme climb, heartsinking views. Well done
Really enjoyed watching; nice choice of footage; liked the editing as well. Congrats on your safe climb.
Hornli Ridge..
subbed!! awesome content man. 11:43 that rock looks reeaaallly sketchy!! i really cannot imagine how the Whymper expedition made the climb.
