Best van life channel. No begging for sponsors, no ad, no complaining, no bling bling for your van,no shop! Stay true!
NO SOUP FOR YOU!
@BlueMountain Moth I think he meant no workshop when he said no shop. Good call on the stickers - time I got one for the butt end of my truck. 👍🏻
Those are my exact thoughts. I enjoy other RUclips van channels but a certain RUclipsr from Vancouver who I won’t mention lately has become very annoying with complaining and thinks he is the poster boy for people wanting to choose this lifestyle. His ego is just disgusting. Im glad I came across this channel a few months ago.
Exactly.
@@joelbecerra24 I think I know who you mean. I unsubbed to him. He became an arrogant prick.
Been going through a tough time in my life, but I have to say that when I see Rocco on the dash, or doing anything else for that matter, it brightens my day.
Hey sorry to hear that. Hope things get better for ya 👍 my luck has been in the gutter lately too. keep plugging along.
We love little Rocco too💕
You are producing videos as close to perfect as I can imagine. Your camera work and editing are astounding. I also love the inclusion of the 'mundane' things of life. Thanks for all the effort that must go into these. Without doubt this is my favorite channel.
I agree .The everyday things are just as interesting, it's real life as it happens
She looks so stylish in her little sweater
Thanks so much for the shout out man! Absolutely love your content. Need to make another illustration soon and include Rocco. Safe travels.
Thanks!
Love the behind the scenes mate. May be boring mundane chores for you, but for us, we see a raw other side of van life that we are all curious about. Thank you again for sharing! Can't wait to bump into you somewhere in BC soon!
First he gets a plate.... Next he's gonna buy a chair with an armrest cup holder to set out on the ground and drink a beer. . He's a fascist bougeois!!!!!!
@@diamondgirl999 🎯🎯🎯
Completely agree - as someone who has never lived in a van, but is interested in doing so, these are exactly the things that I am interested in seeing.
We’ll take a rough sketch of Foresty Forest any day of the week! By the end of each video, a masterpiece is achieved ✨
I'm glad you're doing more everyday stuff. Everyday stuff might be mundane to you, but it's interesting and in a weird ways comforting for those of us who live a more 9 to 5 lifestyle. At least it is to me.
🎯🎯🎯
Very true 👍
Well said.
I plan to escape the mundane life and enter the van life. Just building more retirement savings in the meantime.
true, this is the escape for me from 9-5
@@darinbartosch1037 I'm debating what o do with my retirement savings: Van life? Manufactured home? Tiny home life? Cabin life? Live on the cheap in Latin America? I have big decisions to make as I approach retirement. At least I'll have some security knowing I have a pension and social security coming my way.
LOVE seeing behind the scenes of Foresty Forest and Rocco!
This is real life, no matter if it’s van life or house life or whatever. Things don’t always go according to plan and everyone has the mundane necessities in life. I love the reality in what you do Foresty!
I like how Rocco likes to ride along on the dashboard
Me too❤❤
Rocco riding on the Dash reminds me of my 32 lb Mainecoon Cat who Loved to ride on the Dash when we traveled....Thanks Forest....Stay Safe 🌻
Rocko has a great life . Scenery is heaven .
makes me smile every time!
Omg i thought he was outside at first!
Danke!
Off grid doesn’t mean you don’t have chores, keeping that small space clean is important and necessary to keep a guy’s mental health. Living the simple way keeps you more busy then you think! There’s only one person who cooks, cleans, and maintains everything but then again that’s the beauty of it!
The best example of van life
No gimmicks no drama no boo hoo
Just sharing a blessing
Your the best brother
Love the bobble head dog you keep on the dashboard. It looks so real.
Congratulations Foresty Forest, for your Van Life Award
in the Canadian Walk of Fame. CHEERS 🍻
Nothing more relaxing then watching the rain fall and listening to it, whilst tucked up cosy inside, and the absolute best thing in the world, is watching a contented dog sleeping whilst wearing her jumper. Thank you making these wonderful videos.
Foresty, everytime you cook,
then take a couple bites, I wait for that
'dang, this is so good giggle'.
It's the Foresty Forest seal of approval.
I love you Lone Wolf.
Rocco has the best seat in the house😂😂❤
Stay safe Forest😊
Ever try calling ninja for an endorsement deal? You’ve taught more people about their product than themselves. Also, any interest in discussing your gear, what are your favorite hiking socks, you seem to have that well dialed in, what can you share? Your videos are also perfect as is, just recovering from cancer with ants in my pants stuck inside. Really appreciate your videos, trying to watch and like them all now. Keep up the great work! I’ve spent he last few months enjoying coffee with my father while healing. You’ve helped me get through this, thanks again!
Love the sweater on Rocko. Such a sweet pup.
As a Philly native, ditch the peppers, use fried onions. Use American cheese as it melts the best (authentic is cheese whiz but I’m guessing for you like me that’s just too manufactured lol). When you add the cheese, stir it into the meat so it melts throughout. For ingredients and seasoning less is more! All in all your sandwich looked very tasty as well
American cheese, 1 step from plastic
I have been on a Philly steak kick lately and I just use onion, a little lowerys seasoning salt and cheddar cheese wiz. It’s addictive! I’ve never tired fried onions are you referring to the canned ones like you put on green bean casserole? Omg I love those! Gonna try that next time
"Every day is a blank canvas, it is what you make out of it." Wisest words, Forest! That's the secret to a fulfilling and purposeful life.
You cook and eat better in your van than I do in my house. 350 for 20 minutes for rolls. I have a bread maker to make dough or bread. 300 W and three hours makes a great loaf.
Rocko always makes me smile.
Jon in rural BC, Canada
Loved the slow roll of curious cows...
Your a amazing young man. Rocko, has really turned out to be a great companion.
Foresty, don't ever feel like you need to "earn" a tasty meal! You already do so much bro.
That vacuuming was very satisfying when the carpet pattern was revealed 😁☺️
I’m finally going to comment, I’ve been following and watching for like four years! You are definitely my favorite channel that I get excited seeing a new one pop up. Keep doing what you do because we all appreciate it brother, much love, peace and happiness to you and Rocco ❤
Thank you George 😊
Best videos 📹 ever, not begging for sponsors living a true van life keep it up
Rocko loves her dad 😊
Philly Vanlife Girl here, next time you do a cheesesteak, and they dont sell it sliced prepackaged, the butcher at any grocery store are happy to do it for you, like the pros do it! And to step up your cheese game, melt that cheese on the meat in the last minutes its cooking, or try making a cheese fondue-like sauce. Last, wrap it up in tin foil, believe it or not, get that authentic juicy flavor, wrap up a cheesesteak for a couple minutes that with meld it all together better. Also thank you for showing the world what small weekly chores look like fultiming in a van. Laundry, trash, housekeeping, stock up, gas. They're small mundane tasks that we never think to show our friends and family but that's the most interesting to them!
Hi Forest!! We just got 2 jack russell pups... brother & sister. They're so cute! We love seeing Rocko in your videos! Cheers! ~M
@@Cyrus_The_Virus_00 That's awesome!!
Naughty Foresty imagining how good those cows taste with cheese? 🔔 🔔 🔔
I have to watch the videos to the end to get these amazing little scenes of time passing while it rains outside and the dog relaxes. Thanks for showing the chores that need to be done , cleaning , shopping, filling the tank etc. Again a superb video of the simple life and it's joys.
While I have always enjoyed your vids, that pup really has become the star of the show.
For an authentic Philly cheesesteak, here are a few pointers. For the roll, try and get a crusty/crispy long roll. So you can get maximum meat and cheese, cut the roll open and scoop out a bit of the rolls inside, this will give you a better roll to meat ratio. True philly cheesesteaks wouldn't have peppers, just fried onions and steak. Season with salt and pepper. Get a melty cheese, preferably American cheese from a deli. Cook the meat and onions first and leave them in the pan on like a medium heat. Postion the meat and onions in a line that will fill the roll while in the pan. Open the roll up and lay it on top of the meat while in the pan, this will soften up the roll insides. Just do that for 30seconds to a minute. Take the roll off, lay the cheese over the meat in the pan, then put the roll back over top. Can sprinkle a little water by the meat to help melt the cheese. Then after 30 seconds to a minute take your spatula and flip the meat/cheese/roll over on your plate and it's all done. A juicy cheesey philly cheesesteak. Hot cherry peppers are acceptable to put on top then. Ketchup is also exceptable. You can also put tomato sauce and mozzarella on it to make it a pizza cheesesteak. Try this out and you'll be hooked. It's super easy and very delicious
Facts except….provolone or whiz. Mushrooms is also acceptable. The big thing is the type of roll and the right meat. Gotta be sirloin cut thin and you gotta have that amoroso or Conshy roll. Some people swear by a certain south Jersey roll that will go un named.
Pats, Genos, or somewhere else boys?
@@kvnahrn2775 love my Amorosos - moved several states south from Philly and lucky to get my Amorosos at a local Aldi's now.
I need 8 hours of that rain sound at the end
Connoisseur of cooking and hiking. I love how you keep vanlife real. And, Rocko is the perfect companion! Beautiful videography and editing. You make yo momma proud!
I’m from the Philly area! Nice job with the cheesesteak but it wasn’t greasy enough 🤣 the “Philly style” has so much grease it doesn’t need sauce, and no green peppers, just onion. Long time subscriber, great content 👍
Right, no dicing the vegs. You've got to leave them long and cook them until the onions caramelize. If you go the sauce route, then you need to add mushrooms.
And the cheese is "Cheese Wiz"
@@PETE.K.I.R.O.WYuk! That's disgusting! Don't think Forest is gonna eat that non-organtic crap.
Right! It needed to be greasy, hence the moisture part.
You absolutely dice the onions. Long cut is nonsensical. Each bite should be easy to chomp through, no pulling tough meat or long onions.
Hope you are ok Simon? I can see some rubbish going in in the comments, jealous childish people with nothing better to do. Don't let them get to you, keep climbing those mountains, we love the views and appreciate your work.
Are we a joke to you
Pretty obvious they're the same person on different accounts
@@dj_onslaught you sure about that 😅😂
Why would anyone be jealous of him !
I do my laundry at a laundry mat every other week I was excited when u filmed that. I'm a simple man like you my friend.
only just discovered this amazing channel - and been binge watching 10+ episodes already this rainy afternoon in UK! Inspiring, real, sensitive and totally unsentimental . Thank you - so glad I found this. :)
Any video showing Rocko living her best life is a good one! Enjoy when you include the behind the scenes tasks that go into your life on the road, and of coarse the meals you end up cooking. Some recipes include a dipping sauce for cheesesteak, others have a horseradish spread for the buns. I have enjoyed them both ways. Look forward to the future projects you have planned and anytime you have drone footage to share please do. Safe travels while you make your way north back to Canada.
I wish the kind of lifestyle you’re living existed when I was younger and had your energy, thanks for being you and keep up with the good videos. 😊
I do believe that Rocco is the most well travelled dog on the internet. I took my Jack Russell on some pretty epic hikes too. Cheers
Jack Russells are the best
Just wandering how many steps Rocco take to your three feet stride.
I just found you, not sure why it is in my feed, buy I appreciate the way you treat Rocko. What a beautiful and happy life she appears to have, you must have a kind heart. Much love!
Isn’t she cute! She seems so happy with her van life
Callback to the invisible chainsaw bit. Love it
I bet it smelled nice - rain the desert. Stay safe.
I just wanted to say thank you, and that you're an inspiration Foresty. I recently battled through a years-long bout of mental health that translated into me not taking care of my physical health; over the past couple of months now your videos and your own striving for the best quality of life possible were part of what spurred on some now lasting action to change myself. Hell we're about the same age, and I have a similar passion for hiking and nature, so I really have no excuses! It was cool to see you show part of the "realness" of life here. Glad to see you and Rocko are living well and honestly bud.
PS; what app was that you were using for looking at those trails and swells?? Looked very useful
Nice comment and good for you to get at it. It might be Strava (App) but dont take my word.
Chuck Simon is the real deal isn't he?
Best thing I can say about recovering from any kind of down situation in life is to move. I mean move your body walk hike bike run whatever. From there your thoughts clarify. You got to get away from all the noise.
Good luck man!
Foresty's content really helped me through some ultra-stressful times. I'm eternally grateful. And I'm glad to see others feel the same.
Great to hear you're getting out there 👍 the app is called Alpine Quest. Take care 🙂
I got thru recovering from a car wreck watching these. Plus visits thru these to some of my favorite places.
Loving the sound of rain ❤
Clean country living! Cheers Foresty and Rocko!!
Wishing you well, Foresty. Great to see just a day in the life again. Give the wild girl a treat or two on behalf of us viewers.
🎵♫♬🎶🎵Foresty Forest he lives in a van... Foresty Forest 🎵♫♬🎶🎵
I hope FF gets to multi million subscriber level. But I hope he always stays true to his fans by producing this sort of REAL content. I LOVE FF's videos....each and every one of them. Never had one video by him that I didn't watch fully and didn't click LIKE on. I'm a super fan.
Watching Rocco roll around in the dirt at 5:40 made me laugh pretty hard.
Me too. That and hoovering up the meat that missed the pot. 😊
Rocco has the Best life with Foresty for sure 👍😃
I actually laughed at how totally non click baity the title choice is for this. Pure foresty honesty
So glad Foresty that you are keen on being in Utah instead of avalanches, with the little Rocco fireball.
Rocco on the dash has me rollin.
As a Philadelphian green peppers are a no go. Cheese wiz, American cheese, or provolone are the only 3 cheeses acceptable. Fried onions are also optional. Ketchup or even mayonnaise is somewhat tolerated now. But traditionally it’s rib sliced thin, cheese, wit or wit out (onions) and the bread is what is key. You won’t be able to replicate that outside of our area so don’t feel bad, do the best you can there. Another thing you can look up is Donkey’s from Camden Nj. A slightly different take on a cheesesteak (served on a round poppyseed roll) but held in very high regard around here. Anthony Bourdain said it was the best iteration on the sandwich he ever had.
I love your day in the life stuff. Every day is a mystery. Stay safe please. Big hugs to you and Rocko!
Those chainsaw skills are out of this world! Who are you Gandalf?!?
Hahah 😄
As a Philadelphian I’d say you did better than most restaurants outside of Philly, great vid!
I lived in Philly for a decade, gotta say your cheesesteak looked better than the ones available, also sauce is allowed, there’s one version that has something like thousand island dressing on it so you do you because Philly actually doesn’t care 😀
its probably a bit more chicago, but i would recommend some marinara sauce on that sandwich.
@@nomadicfoodie6286 no green pepper on a cheesesteak. That’s not a thing at all. I live here.
Having a bad day in corporate life..
. Your videos remind me that a simpler life is possible!
I like this one. Nice to have a video where it's just a van lifer taking care of daily business. Showing, not telling.
Yes. Please do more Bushcraft stuff.
I love how much you love Utah. Born and raised here myself. Always full of adventure.
FF, just finished a 54 hr work week and watching this was my mental relief mini-vacation to a place I will never go. Been following you for several years since your western bike escapades, and although I will never be close to as hardcore as you, I'm on track for an early exit plan from a job I loathe. Your life has helped influence my thought processes from a different point of view. Peace man.
Rocco is the luckiest animal on this planet! I enjoy these videos - from Canada also.
Wow. Rocco is growing up pretty quick. I miss the video when Rocco was just a puppy ❤
This was a fantastic video. I live in Vernal just a ways north of Price. All the snow we got over the last few months is finally starting to thaw and we can actually see the ground. Take care. Thanks for all you do.
Thanks for your videos. I look forward to them each week. You and Rocko take care.
Thanks 👍
Glad to see that your dog gets to wear a warm sweater!
Those cows wanted an autograph from Rocko
Foresty, you have THE cutest little Sous Chef!
She keeps her workspace so clean.😛
The behind the scenes look was very informative. Maybe you can incorporate more of that to show us what's involved in living the simple van life. Some beautiful panoramic views as usual. Be safe heading back to Canada.
I really appreciated the audio in this one, Foresty. The sizzling food, the rain, the clinking of things in the van. Good job with that. But I hope you get that windshield fixed pretty soon.
More Bushcraft and Shelter building would be AWESOME! Thanks Foresty! 👍
Bushcraft! If you’re looking for content start with your research of bush craft, let us see it, your thought processes and ideas. Not just what you build. I don’t know if you realize just how willing your audience is to watch whatever the heck you put up. I really enjoyed this episode and you did your laundry! Cheers, Foresty
Love all your videos ! With it warming up have you thought about Rocko and rattlesnakes ? You can take a class with her on rattlesnake aversion - they even use live snakes to teach the dogs to be afraid of them. And you can get the rattlesnake vaccine. I have seen a few dogs bit and had gotten the vaccine - it's mainly to buy you time to get to a veterinarian to then get the anti venom shots. Best to you both !!
Those staring cows made me LOL. 😁😊
I live in the Philly area but Im from Colorado. Cheese steaks can be a bit controversial around here. At the end of the day, it's meat, cheese and bread. Make it how you want. 😅
Thanks for taking us all along for the ride. Best wishes from Portugal.
I enjoyed the glimpse of your everyday life.
You and Rocko seem so content and at peace.
Very enjoyable to follow along.
Thanks!
👍👍👍👊😎
❤ I love camping in the swell. It is my favorite places to be. I live north west in Vernal,UT 2.5 hrs from Swell. 😊 Enjoy it Country you will enjoy and explore like no other place on the planet. Don't forget to look for mines they're all over
Rocko continues to be the best dash board ornament. Perfect fit.
Recently started craving ...Reuben sandwiches.
For some reason, It took forever to gather the dark rye bread, thin sliced pastrami, jarred sour krout, Swiss cheese and thousand island dressing.
Grilled with butter until the swiss melted..it was delicious.
You look very tired, dear friend. Husband and I love following your adventures and were in love with Rocco (she could be our Sugar's twin). Prayers and hugs to you both from Northern Michigan
Love the content, Forest. I need to add as someone who’s worked in grocery stores a ballooned mean package almost always means the package was frozen, thawed and left un chilled for long enough to off gas. Going forward as a rule of thumb do not buy “ballooned” packages.
That is good to know, Thanks
Good to see your Smile, the worl needs more of that. Cheers Joseph venice Fl.
Rocco has grown so much. Still hanging in there. Im sure he’s so happy and free out the mountains.
Rocco is a girl ❤️
Always enjoy your videos but am most impressed over your care of Rocco, and her wardrobe!!
Hi Foresty,
I've followed your channel for about a year now and I still find myself logging into RUclips and checking to see if you have a new video. I'm always enjoy them. Really. ALWAYS. You are an inspiration to me. I want to get out there and do it, but I think I lack the courage and always use the excuse, "Well, life just gets in the way"....ANYWAY I'm commenting on this video in particular because it's cool to see you (and Rocko) just do your day to day things. It makes y'all feel less far away and make me consider, "hey maybe I could do this!" Stay safe and keep those crock meals warm :)
Thank you James 😊
I love Utah. Five national parks, so many amazing places to see. THIS IS THE PLACE! 😎
Listening to rain and hail on the roof and windows makes me sleepy too, Rocko!
Always great to follow you on your adventures, Foresty...even the daily "behind the scenes" chores that need to be done before you head out. I've also recommended your channel to my son. I think he can learn a few (or a lot of) cooking tips from you. Everything you cook is something he would like...especially because you often make it spicy.
Your doggy is so cute! PS It’s good when your hiking alone to put a note on your dashboard on time, date and location. Phones are not always reliable.
Rocko has amazing helper skills!
love the cow stare down...
Doing Great Thank you for everything!
Stop and hit some hot springs in western Montana and gold bug in salmon Idaho
Up through Stanley and the lava flows, Borah Peak is Idaho’s highest. Possibly accessible
Really enjoyed this laid back visit. Wish my visits to the laundry Mat went so fast 🙂. You inspired my dinner choice for tonight as any time onions and peppers are getting fried up you know you are going to have a fabulous meal. "Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt." - John Muir . A man who knew what was good for the soul and heart. 🧡
I always love these simple day in the life videos! Even the most mundane stuff is so relaxing and enjoyable to watch you and Rocko do! Keep it up as always, and safe travels!
