I would love to have this camping. Most people only have a tent my boi. Don’t spout bullshit out on the internet when you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.

Agreed it’s kind of odd yet it works well. Aye. It could even save your life in a massive emergency of some kind if you had a tiny little one person camper 4 by 4 around with wench etc. it could save you by getting you far away very fast. If some natural or man made disaster happen.

It wasnt until 10:15 (local time) on a Sunday night that i realized i need a 1992 Geo Tracker camper….That is a fantastic build im gonna share in some of my facebook camping groups

I have a 02 Tacoma 2 door with a custom aluminum shell, windows (& screens) both sides & double rear opening doors in the back. I never even tricked it out with aux power or appliances, just wood bed frame for thick comfy foam mattress & storage underneath. It's short so gets into small trail campsites, lived out of it for 18 months on a massive trip. Soo much better than tent camping... it's actually kinda like your build in a lot of ways

@@marcpikas2859 the little engine 4 cylinder.. completely stock. Other than Tacoma OG design it's not extra strong... just passed 300,000 about a month ago how about them apples

I LOVE THIS! I used to have a 96 Tracker, yellow with black soft top, 5 speed, 4wd and I took it everywhere! I hung onto it forever because I wanted to turn it into an off road vehicle. They're good vehicles, very underestimated. I hope to get another one and do that someday

I put one of those ICECO 20 freezer fridges in my wifes 06 4Runner 2 years ago, and it has been great for her grocery shopping in town. I installed a Bluetti 300 to power it and wired in her charging system to charge the Bluetti when her engine is running. I also bought one for my Granddaughter for a graduation present, and she uses it all the time in her car for camping in Colorado where she lives.
That little Geo tracker camper is great for a short weekend getaway. Or a homless shelter.

@@worklessenjoylifemore Maybe look into foamy campers. Pink or blue 1 1/2" XPS foam, covered with fiberglass or poor man's fiberglass for strength. Might be quicker and light too.

I live in Phoenix so go to Prescott fairly often. I remember a few years ago seeing a Mercedes sedan there with some kind of log cabin built onto it.

That is so Bad A$$. I love it. I thought my rig was small. I have a 1985 Volkswagen Westfalia, that I use as my daily driver and camper as much as possible .We should try to plan to meet up sometime as I am also in northern Az, Rimrock area. I go up north as much as possible .Also while you’re in Prescott Valley try to check out the restaurant called The Backburner Family Restaurant. My brothers own and run the place. Let them know I sent and hopefully they will hook you up. If they don’t let me know and I will smack them around. lol.

Okay Larry, now this is awesome!!! First it's adorable & compact and I like that, but thought there was no way you'd fit in there. Then once you showed it open I was really impressed!! Clearly the dogs already love it! Great tiny build and certainly looks to have enough room for you and the pups! I'd say get you a good thick piece of heavy duty foam as the base of your bed and you'll be good to go! GREAT JOB!!😀

Pretty ingenious. I'm in AZ as well. I always wanted to build my own camper as well. My Grandfather built one in the 50s before they were commercially available.
I wanted to build something like that over the back of my 2016 jeep jk 4 door. Very cool build...light weight..thanks for the video...and some ideas 💡👍

I built a hardsided popup for my full size truck (8 foot bed).
Alot of people have commented that it's too small.
It is intended to be small, I designed it for just the wife and I to use, (no guests). It is intended for short duration use, 10 days is about the max for supplies and comfort.
When lowered for travel it allows me to take the truck anywhere the truck can go without the camper. Thus, I can leave it on the truck most of the time.
The truck averages about 1mpg less with the camper on, so fuel economy is not really an issue.
A small setup like yours is absolutely wonderful for your intended use.

Holy Awesomeness!!! nice Job Larry! your idea for the inside Is what I did to my Ambo conversion. you'll love it.
Get some small bungee nets to hang in the Cab Area to put your stuff in at night. There is probably a way to put a fold down piece on your "bed" that you have extending into the cab that folds over the driver seat that you could use to create a little more space for the bed and also put the power unit on once parked (Can't see the seat size). If not the power unit then something else. So it would form an "L" shape when open and a Hinge and fold or just slide into place thing. Might have to work around the steering wheel. Flip it to the passenger side when driving and over the seat when camped. Seems like you have used all the other space. Looks really good for a DIY.

New life goals! I rebuild and remodel campers, right now I'm working on a van conversion and rebuilding my 13ft from hitch to bumper 73 safari pull camper. The camper is a log cabin look and think the van is going to be a boho look lol. I really enjoy doing these kinda things. I love your little geo hut! Excited to see how it turns out....

I guessed the project would be a truck camper. I did not guess one of this nature though. It's magnificent! 😂
I’m in Mesa AZ and have a 1988 Samurai with Chrysler minivans seats that fold flat. I removed the rear seat and built a hinged platform at the same level as the seats and put my survival gear under the platform and a cooler goes on the top. I wasn’t planning on camping but figured if I ever break down during a day trip, say up on the four Peaks ridgeline, I can easily sleep overnight in it. Or if camping is planned, bring a tent. It already had the optional fiberglass top. Great job on yours!

This is a very awesome concept. It pays to be a carpenter and electrician. The things that you can make. I'd love to have this so when I go visit family by car and they asked me to stay over. I have my own space to sleep in and to be entertained in.
