Think of the people who spend $70k for a 4x4 truck that never goes off-road, they just like the way it looks. I purchased the CutHub in June. I have been doing finish carpentry for over 50 years. Excellent stand. After 4 months of hard use it shows very little wear which is expected once its set up and being used. Price point is good for the quality and ease of setup. I’m 6’4” and adjustable height saves my 72 year old back. My Milwaukee 12” Fuel sliding miter saw was perfect out of the box. That saw has been abused! Caught in a pop up thunder storm once, dropped off my tailgate ( my own fault). Minor adjustments and it runs great again. Great videos Richard.

They say "spend your money where you spend the most time." For most people that means invest in a high quality bed and high quality shoes. For a lot of people it also means a quality desk chair.
If you're spending hundreds of hours each year at that stand and it improves comfort and/or makes you happier, your only regret should be that you didn't make the investment sooner.

The guys who created this were production carpenters. This is built to last with minimum working parts. The stop itself is genius. You haven’t even seen the extension where you can hook up a table saw!! Everything else that’s portable uses supports. When you cut crown or repeat cuts on long stock, this allows it to be measured ONCE. If you’ve watched his videos you know that repeatability bid critical to his work. And the guys who sell this are terrific to work with. Can’t say enough good about the whole transaction.

I bought a 28 foot werner pick and screwed blocks unto that's the height of my slider. Only needs a pair of horses and is rock solid, can set up on uneven ground and no interlocking pieces to deal with. Cost 700 and the blocks were scraps from a framing job. Best saw stand I've ever used, great for azek and the like

  • @zverina
    @zverina 3 года назад

Looks sweet and no doubt the best for precision outside of a shop setting. What tool one chooses depends on the result they're going for. I do mostly framing and decks, so I get by with a 36V cordless Makita sliding miter saw bolted to rolling Ridgid stand--under $200 with lifetime warranty--in combination with a couple of roller stands (another $50). Easy to move and pops up in seconds. But no doubt not as slick and accurate. One of my favorite words is hemidemisemiquaver, which means a 1/64th note in music, but I like to think of it as a 1/64th of an inch, too, which is a standard I strive for but I can get typically get away with a larger margin of error. It's only spending too much money if the tool exceeds your needs. I find it's helpful not to think in terms of cost, but value. Cost is an absolute number, where value is more subjective.

There use to be a PBS cooking show called The Frugal Gourmet and the host (Jeff Smith) once explained when he pulled out a very expensive ingredient (truffles) the “frugal” did not mean cheap, it meant spending your money wisely but still using the best ingredients. So if this new stand helps you do your business better and more efficient, it is money well spent. And I would imagine just a couple large jobs you do would pay for this.

Great vedio, nice set up. I Like your kindergarten statement....we all don't do the same....
    #1
You should try the 12" Milwaukee electric slyde saw, with the digital read out. Reads accurately in 1/10th of a degree....when you need to return to a number.....say 13.7 degrees easy! Or you need to move 1/10th of a degree. This movement is so small that with out a "experimental cut" ....it might not have moved , or it moved too much or to little!! Extremely valuable!
#2 Another preference possibility to consider for a miter saw stand that features free shipping, 10' fences left and right with Sterrett tapes. Adjustable crown supports, stops left and right , 4 large rubber wheels. The fence supports can be used as a third hand for installing upper cabinets. Has been under constant refinement for 12 years includes a third no touch stop you can use or slide under. Reduces for travel to 66", clever all metal support system and aluminum fences that are optional flat or with a 1" back aluminum fence.....
Fast Cap best fence Pro System Pro 4
I don't know what the current cost is ....but I think its about $1600.00
I do not sell or have any connection with fast cap. I do know you can buy them from Wurth Luis and Company. I do know I called fast cap direct and got all my questions answered. They have a ton of videos as well

Back saver! I am tall too and leaning over avg counter height is killer for me. You'll save your back in the long run.

You’re a lucky man. Congratulations. That is an awesome setup. If it was feasible and I could afford it that is obviously an amazing system that is going to help your production as well as your quality and will definitely pay for itself. I just bought the dewalt foldup stand with wheels so that I don’t have to carry all the weight of my dewalt 12” sliding compound miter saw and it is nice for that reason but I would have to buy additional components to be able to be productive with bigger stock. Looks like your options are endless as to how much you should be able to cut with that stand. Not to mention how effective it will be to help hold up sheets of plywood or longer stock to rip on a table saw

What a great looking saw stand. "Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten"
While I will never buy a saw stand of any kind, I have a bunch of high quality products at my home who seemed ridiculous expensive when I bought them. 25-30 years later, I still have them and use them.

Best but stand I've seen. You spend 8hrs+ daily working with a tool, having the best is the way to go. I've been a custom home builder from Boston area, nothing beats a great tool. SOLID PURCHASE‼️👍👍. Vinny 🇺🇸

I can hear it now, "you paid how much??? Harbor Freight has a piece of junk for $69 and I have a 20% off coupon"...........I already have the price list and deciding my configuration. Once you're actually in business and replacing your stuff, then you might realize why this is a great video and probably this mans best investment yet. Great job my man

Thanks again for taking the time to make a video, Richard!! Honestly, for $3400 I would have expected better quality fastening (instead of the same push buttons a $99 canopy has) also, what about an adjustable crown stop or material storage hooks in the front. Seems a bit shaky, too considering it was engineered from the ground up. Those 2x12s should be aluminum as well 😏 Sure, it’s pretty and will last forever but somewhere around $1200-1500 would seem more reasonable. I hope you have success with it and are 100% happy (or at least that Cut Hub will allow you to return it for a refund if you’re not satisfied). Looking forward to the new miter saw video review 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

You might change your mind about the cost if you go to a Metals Supply House and see how expensive aluminum in any form is.

I think he might be adding in the 600.00 miter saw and shipping. It doesn't look 3,400.00 to me. If it is I kinda feel like that's a rip off.

Congrats! hope it serves you well. I say buy whatever you think will aid you in your work. Mobile working is tough enough anyway so we all deserve to make it as comfortable as possible. Not a practical option for me in the UK as it rains OFTEN and most properties would not have enough garden space to deploy that device. So for me, it's gonna remain the Dewalt stand and a few plastic saw-horses and planks.
