I've ripped out everything including wainscotting and putting in all different trim. Doors, windows, baseboard, wainscotting, and crown. All because Richard made me think I could do it.
Dis the same thing, spent a few thou in tools, built my own tool shed and them began doing the baseboards around the house, got more tools and replace all the tile painted the whole interior and then redid all the crown moulding and moulding around every vent around the house... all in four months just in time for the new baby arrival, need to mention that all the trim and material i got at cost since im a gm for a lumber dealer

Great review, looks like a great tool. For those of us who can’t afford the CUTHUB, I got Dewalt Stand with Best Fence Aluminum wings and Stop Blocks for about $600. While it is not a complete work station with table saw, it sets up quicker in a smaller level area.
Man, I’ve been following for a while now but haven’t watched a video for little. Seems like you’re killing it in life. New tools beside dewalt, cut hubs and more property.

I work in the microchip industry installing chip manufacturing equipment. We bend Stainless Steel Tubing for exotic gas delivery systems. We build our work tables 3' high with an intermediate shelf to lay our tools on. We lay the Tubing on the table and do our measurements and markings. We cut it to length and use a facing tool that perfectly squares the end for welding alignment. With our other tools stored on the shelf we pick up our benders and manipulate the Tubing into the design. The tools aren't in the way on the shelf below the table top.

How do you like the Milwaukee 18v 12 in dual bevel miter saw vs the DEWALT flex volt? Looking at getting one so I don’t have to worry about power and am leaning a little more toward the Milwaukee. Also do you run the 12 ah or 8 ah on the Milwaukee?

Awesome review, I only wish this was available years ago when I did a lot of trim and cabinet work. It's an awesome set up and we'll worth the money. Over time it will pay for itself and you will wonder how you did without it.

It's not worth it brother, think about it, $3400.00, what amount of power tools could you get, how about a full western snow plow with full power angle, or Festool Kapex saw ,and Dewalt table saw with mobil stand, and Festool Router, and 22' little giant ladder, and Fein multi tool and still have about $200.00 left over, COME ON!!!
Looks like a great idea but only for finish work or sites where you can leave it in one spot till the job is done. I packup my sawbench everyday and put it in my trailer. If I had to get this out, set it up and then put it all away every day, I'd get nothing done.
Still rockin my dewalt stand with 2x roller stands at the end. 12m over all sawbench length.

If a product is well made, easy to setup, and makes the job site look neat and professional, then my argument as a high end contractor is definitely diff then yours. I will always work faster and better with stable good quality tools. Yes, call me a snob, but hey, that’s the way I view this.
Thanks for your videos, you’ve motivated me to install Crown moulding in my home. So I went to hardware store and bought some what I thought was traditional Crown. After I got it home I noticed it basically only has one side with a spring angle. What would this type of Crown be used for? Can I still use it or is it meant for building out bigger Crown?

If I was a full time finish carpenter, I'd get this in a heartbeat. As a general handyman, it's hard to justify the price versus how much I would use it. However, if I was new in the game, I would definitely invest in one.
how would you afford it if youre NEW in the game? these kinds of prices are pushing apprentices away from the industry. no new worker wants or HAS thousands to throw around
Are the tape measures adjustable? Is it possible to zero them on the blade of any 10-12"" mitre saw?
Such a great bit of gear. In the workshop it’s pretty easy to make a mitre saw setup but on-site it’s really hard get something that gives you all the features you need. The mitre saw stands available here in the uk are terrible. This is awesome and as you said you stand at it a lot. It’s the office.

I put a hold on my mothers custom prosthetic leg for now until I use the cut hub on enough jobs to buy her a new one. A peg leg IS fortunately something you can make out of wood.
I paid $120 for my wifes ring 31 years ago at Montgomery Ward ....... i think ill let her keep it
3400$ can be spent on other things....Can get the job done just as well with other tools/equipment. No different than woodpeckers. do they look nice? yes, are they necessary? no.
Value is in the eye of the user. I just purchased some festool quick clamps (and a bunch of tools over the weekend and last week in the sales). Just a guy who has always had a desire to build and create. Not a carpenter by profession. Did I get ripped off? Always are cheaper options but if it works for you and the money is available to do it and your happy then it worked as was a good purchase.

Just did total trim, jambs, casing and baseboard on 20 doors and all rooms. I also had a few alt stand before the CutHub. I could not have done any of it without the stability of the CutHub. No question. It’s paid for itself.
@jami w good for you. I apprenticed with a guy in the 70’s who could do all sorts of finish work with a hand saw free hand. He could 45s sitting up on the roof. I was never able to cut that accurately. Similarly, I worked on crown moulding with the dewalt stand and had a tough time keep 16’ nested and not torqued. It sounds like you’ve got it nailed down though. I’m proud of you!!

Seriously one of the best investments. I'm 47 and collected tools since I was your age and now have my grandfather and fathers tools as well. It's such a wonderful feeling to have the tools needed to do a job yourself. Not to mention could start your own business like he/we did!

Do you have an update on shirts and hoodies? i was suppose to get mine this week and haven’t got anything
I use one at work and I am not very impressed. The plastic locking lever that holds the legs broke on one almost immediately. Some jerk lost the little plastic piece that holds the saw to the stand where you clamp the table to the stand. So, lots of breakable easy to lose plastic pieces. Also, adjusting the height of the table on the chop saw is extremely difficult. You have to get on the ground and undo 4 allen set screws. Then lift your 35 pound sliding miter saw and the table level (while on the ground) and then tighten the set screws. This is only possible if you have an assistant that isn't totally stupid. I just think it is expensive to have these design flaws. You should be able to level the chop saw to the tables with something that you can screw in and out and make micro adjustments. If your table isn't set right, your blade will bind and KAPOW!!! It shouldn't be that difficult.
great demo presentation, as usual! Not sure what they were thinking, not giving you a prototype to test out in the field a yr ago while they finished product development... You're literally the perfect spokesperson. Hope they at least give u the extra extensions for free, you're prob gonna end up selling more Cut-Hubs for them than anyone else, without even trying! Off-topic somewhat. When you install crown molding on a vaulted ceiling, say 45 degrees, do you do the transition piece or something different? Thanks & Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I had a chance to use my buddies CH for a week. Top quality is an understatement rock solid and the stops were great!!! Would I purchase it? No, why not because of price, quality or workable realestate....it’s because it’s just too much. The setup and tear down at the end of the day was a bit much. I did enjoy the table saw to rip stuff that was cool. Maybe if we could leave it setup it might be a bit better.with the price of the thing no way would I leave it onsite. Is it shop quality, rock solid and beautifully made absolutely. Did the setup each day turn me off yea. Like anything if you want shop quality it takes a bit if fiddle. He loves it and I can see why. I think next I want to demo the fast cap best fence and see what’s that’s all about. Great video as always

Do you have any problems with the knob pieces coming off as that’s one hint wish they would change ! I keep losing mine when taking miter saw on and off. Also wish they would have legs so you could use just one side with miter saw
I know you said you don't use the ruler much but I have a question... is there something in place for locating your saw base to the same spot on those pipe rails everytime you set it? I am wondering because if it can be placed anywhere that would change your zero offset to the blade every time you set it up. I'm assuming there's something but just didn't see you point it out.

How do you calibrate the tape to the blade?
even at a 1000 would still be too much... been at a miter box my entire life as well, the 200 dollar dewalt stand works just fine.
on that note, the review was educational and the company should send you the extra brackets for making this video.
15 year high-end, custom GC here and I think the dewalt stand is a total joke. Accuracy and cutoff support is almost nonexistent for pre-finished and heavy, long materials

The term you are looking for to describe the proper alignment of the two sections is "Coplanar". Another really great video! Keep up the great work.

The guy that taught me reminds me of you. he can do it all and is extremely precise in his work and takes it extremely serious which is why he’s so successful. He can also do a heel flip to 5 0 grind on a handrail with a skateboard. Haha

On my Dewalt battery table saw I sometimes use a feather board (mine is a plastic Kreg one) just in front of the blade for long stock that I am ripping. Note: Never ever put a feather board in line or in front of a table saw blade.

That is totally worth the price. look at the engineering and heft to it. Its all about efficiency and work flow and that equals money in your pocket.

Looks like you could put a dewalt planer on the center for an infeed out feed for rough cut lumber. Now a track saw system using the stop to stright line rip a rough edge. Or even rout it.
If you like it,and it makes you more productive,it's worth every penny.Write it off as a business expence.

Looks pretty awesome, but I am wondering how flat are those 2x12’s. Most lumber today is cupped, twisted, bowed etc. Also, how wide of a board can you rip with that setup before it’s long enough to hit the end of the miter saw. In other words, can you rip a little off a long 1x12 without hitting the fence of the miter saw ? If you have more than 8 ft I guess sheet goods are no problem. Like your videos, keep up the good work

I install computer chip manufacturing equipment. Some of the tools have a dozen or more stainless steel gas lines, Nitrogen, Oxygen and some very exotic other gases. We have built tubing bending tables and began building them 2' wide and 8' long with a full size shelf midway. We keep our tools on the shelf so they aren't in the way when we bend our tubing!

Hi. I watched one of your videos where you used a small tool to mark out for cutting crown molding around a bull nose corner. I need to do the same thing, but the bull nose corner is larger, like a 2 inch radius. Can you show how to cut and attach molding around that?

Good day Richard. Thank you for all of your videos. I am a loyal follower and have taken up the task of installing crown in my new house. I have a problem with a cut I need your assistance with. The Starrett 505P angle finder is indicating 30 degrees on an inside corner. I have tried everything to make this cut but it come out too open on the ceiling side. It's a 45 spring angle on a 5-1/4" crown. I am using a 10" miter saw. Please help. thank you
