    We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version ruclips.net/user/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.

    Writing a review to shame Ring for not including a 55 degree angle wedge in their packaging for those of us that have doorbells on the side of the house. The video was very timely and well done. I bought the mount from eBay for $12.49+tax and FU Ring for not including and also not advising us of the corner kit bracket.

    • @gmav17
      @gmav17 4 года назад +3

      @@ThisGuyProductions there is no excuse for Ring not providing an adjustable bracket up to 55 degrees included in the packaging. What were they thinking for those that have side doorbells and cannot use the wedge they provide. People should be aware that this is an issue before they buy Ring and would need to order another product and drill a fn hole in that product to complete the Ring installation. Ring buyers with side doorbells all need to know this!

    • @ThisGuyProductions
      @ThisGuyProductions  4 года назад +4

      @@gmav17 - I totally agree. It would at least be great for them to mention the limitation on their packaging and then perhaps offer an angled bracket as an accessory. It would allow them some additional revenue and offer a solution to consumers on the spot instead of being stuck without a solution. I also feel it would improve their sales up front.

    Ok question. I have somehwhat of a similar situation as you, But I can see almost all of my driveway. I want just a slight bit more angle so I can see about another 4ft of my wall. That way I can see my side gate as well. Would aIbe able to use just the angled piece that come with the Ring? Or would I have to use the slanted (leveling) piece as well? The Angled piece would work perfect. But I don't want to drilll 2 unnecessary holes if it wont work. Appreciate it in advance.

      You can add some wood shims fairly easily to add the additional angle you are looking for. I was going to originally mount my ring using a piece of wood cut at an angle, but the mount I found online was much more flexible.

    I fancy a Ring doorbell and would need the mount for my porch. But, I always see these Ring doorbells and think how are they not stolen. It must be so easy to rip this straight off the wall or door and walk away with it. Yes, ok for a point you're on camera but if I'm wearing a cap and have my face covered you have no chance knowing who stole it. So, the question is how secure are they from this happening?

    Good video, but a correction on your hardwire detail, as Ring say is correct it does not matter which wire goes into the back screws, WHAT matters for your existing doorbell chime !! in the house to Ding-Dong is, the settings In The App/Account on the section of when it asks about wiring to an existing doorbell, meaning, after you install it , you go back into the app and make the selections so it ding-dongs when you press the bottom., given you have a mechanical-common doorbell at the house with the strange looking transformer some where inside the garage wall or ceiling.
    Hope this helps for the ones that missed it first, and it didnt dingdong and had to ck with Ring to fix it.

    • @ThisGuyProductions
      @ThisGuyProductions  4 года назад

      Hey Valerie. The shirt came from a company called Barbacoa Apparel. They have a website where you can find this shirt and other cool options. As for the power, you can keep the power to the doorbell on. There isnt a lot of electricity running through it, just don't put the wires into your mouth. It can be connected just like that.

    do you know how to fix a glare during the day time

    • @ThisGuyProductions
      @ThisGuyProductions  3 года назад

      Its gonna sound weird, but you can add a shade over your doorbell. I am assuming the sunlight is hitting it directly? I quickly googled this, but I am sure there are many more options: www.etsy.com/listing/783377731/the-original-video-doorbell-camera?gpla=1&gao=1&&CjwKCAjwjJmIBhA4EiwAQdCbxsI3jlZHwovJ5DOpfO6qmu7yaz3Gj-2wo4Vq1O_RzPheDkP6g6c50xoCUw8QAvD_BwE_k_&gclid=CjwKCAjwjJmIBhA4EiwAQdCbxsI3jlZHwovJ5DOpfO6qmu7yaz3Gj-2wo4Vq1O_RzPheDkP6g6c50xoCUw8QAvD_BwE

      @@batone76sanchez37 Thats an even worse situation. So its more of a glare from reflected light and not direct sunlight. I wonder if you can place some kind of polarizer over the lens to remove that? I see lots of polarizers online, but nothing specific for Ring. It looks like you would need to jerry rig it. Not sure if you are familiar with Polarizer. Its like those high dollar sunglasses that eliminate glare and light reflection.

    Couldn’t it be easily stolen with normal screws on top and bottom of angle mount?

      If someone wanted it bad enough, yes they could just take it. The same goes for the standard mount that comes with the doorbell.

    Has you a video for aplication and what i have to conect to the other side of the wires?

    • @ThisGuyProductions
      @ThisGuyProductions  5 лет назад

      Hey Pablo, your wires should be already connected to your doorbell inside your home. If not, the Ring should work as a standalone except you will need to constantly recharge that battery.

    • @PabloOlivare
      @PabloOlivare 5 лет назад +1

      This mean that the ring has 2 part? I only ser one

    • @ThisGuyProductions
      @ThisGuyProductions  5 лет назад

      @@PabloOlivare The ring doorbell is a single unit. It comes with a few different plates and a couple of wedges to mount them. The back of the Ring has a couple of screws that are used to connect it to your existing doorbell wires. THis will provide power if your doorbell lights up. If not, it will at least connect the Ring to chime your doorbell when someone pushed the button. This is on top of notifying you on your phone app.

    • @ThisGuyProductions
      @ThisGuyProductions  5 лет назад

      You can get about 45 to 50 degrees out of it. The Ring should also come with a bracket that has a bit of an angle as well. You can put them both together.

    The mount seems can be easily yanked out for someone trying to steal the doorbell? Is this mount approved by Ring for theft coverage of lifetime theft warranty of the doorbell?

    • @ThisGuyProductions
      @ThisGuyProductions  6 лет назад +3

      Its a third party wedge and is not approved or endorsed by ring. I am sure it could be yanked out if someone wanted it really bad. To be honest the ring alone would be just as easy to steal regardless of using this wedge. All in all you would have a video of the thief stealing it though.

    So moving the doorbell location (which I assume means rewiring) is too difficult to do? - Asking with no knowledge

    • @ThisGuyProductions
      @ThisGuyProductions  5 лет назад +1

      It really depends on how far you are planning to relocate it. A few inches, no problem, a foot or so, you can add an extension piece of wire and paint it in to make it look neat. If youre moving it to the other side, you may have to hire someone.
