Thank you so much for this. The instructions that came with it and the negative amazon reviews didnt really help me figure this out. You made it perfectly easy for me. 15yrs on youtube and this is probably only the 5th time I ever felt a need to comment. Thanks.
Thanks so much for this EASY description. The others made me feel like a big dummy because the video instructions just didn’t explain it like you did. I have no dad or anyone to help me so you filled in great! Thanks a bunch!
Thank you so much for this video, I found your method of doing a pre-test with the different number of wedges very helpful in determining how many wedges I should use. Your video is much better than the Ring produced video on wedge installation.
Excellent how-to, thanks! Already have a wedge on but needed more and felt there were no clear instructions on adding MORE so yours was perfect. Feel comfortable taking on the project finally!
Ran across your video, PERFECTLY EXPLAINED 🏋️🏆, I don’t have a Ring yet, looking for one that will capture face of people AND THE DOOR DRAFT BLOCKER which is at the bottom of my door, which Ring product would you suggest and would using ALL THREE WEDGES give me a full view of the floor in front of my door AND THE PERSON STANDING IN FRONT?
Thank you so much! Because I sound this video , I just placed my order. I was disappointed with my view for the same reason you are. Thank you so much 😊
Excellent presentation. My porch is elevated, so this is something I may have to consider, although the porch itself if fairly wide. Anyone have experience with this?
Hi Stan. Tks for your video. Apart from helping with the installation which came really handy, your video also clarified a doubt I had which is the possibility to use the original mounting plate with the security screws to protect the door bell from theft. Tks and all the best!
Thank you so much for sharing this video tips. I have the original video bell and wanted to make some adjustments to it. Your video is very details, straight to the points with clear pictures will certainly help.
@Stan Cravens thank you for this video. I would like to get this kit, but I only have aluminum siding to add the door bell on. Will the wedge kit go through the aluminum siding? Can I mount it to aluminum siding?
Hi Stan thank you very much for your review and what this does and for the instructions. It is much appreciated and one of those actually came with Ring Doorbell 2. I installed it and yes hopefully this will be very useful and help a lot.
Good video. The instructions i got i cant even read! You asked, so i have to say im very disappointed with my Ring doorbell ). When it works its great but mine will stop sending any alerts randomly. dozens of calls to customer service. Cant seem to fix it. Ring is sending me another no charge and advise a wedge kit which they already sent.. We shall see. but at this point I wish I bought another brand.
Lmao so glad he made this video.. I have a new ring door bell with wedges and I was about to use the large screws to screw through the 4 holes ://// thank god I watched this otherwise it would have been an expensive mistake !
Will those wedges work flipped upside down? My ring camera is closer to ground and doesn't show the person's head when they are at my door. I need the camera angled up more.
I looked that up, and the general consensus is that it won't work well doing that. This was a typical comment: No, the Ring Doorbell wedge kit should not be installed upside down. The wedge kit is typically used to angle the Ring Doorbell downward, which can help reduce motion alerts from passing traffic and ensure visitors are captured. Adjusting the angle upwards could negatively impact the doorbell's motion detection.
Hmm. I've gone back and forth a few times looking ago the view before and after. Don't see much difference. Maybe a foot or a little more of the porch but the street looks a lot the same, which surprises me. I need to do something, not sure if this is the solution.
How far from the ground is your ring installed? My house door bell is only 3 ft from the ground and it came with the angle bracket so I purchased what you got and I like to see the package be delivered and the person as well. I can’t take it up no higher. Any suggestions
Hello. The wedge kit plates that you are using have the four holes spaced more closely together than the plates that were shipped to me. So frustrating. Any suggestions? The two top holes on the MOUNTING PLATE that came with my Ring Doorbell second generation are 3 and 6/16ths inches (3.375") above the bottom two holes. However, the two top holes on the WEDGE KIT PLATES I bought are 4 and 3/16ths inches (4.1875") above the bottom two holes. So, the holes do not align. The wedge kit plates you are holding in your hand in this video are correct. They look slightly different than the ones shipped to me. Can you please help here?
I would return those to the seller and have them give you the right ones. If a return isn’t possible, you might have to drill two new holes in the Wedge Kit plate that match with the holes in the original mounting plate. That’s not ideal, but it sounds like you have enough room to work with. If you do have to drill new holes, do so carefully so as not to crack the plastic. You might start out by drilling a very small pilot hole first, and then finishing with the proper size bit.
I’m here because I want to get a ring doorbell but I have 2 flights of steep steps because house is on a hill and I would like to be able to see down to the bottom steps so I would be able to see someone approaching from the street coming up the steps now that I see these wedges are available i can go ahead and purchase a ring doorbell
If you don't have an electrical supply to your doorbell, then it can run on the internal battery. But with this model of the Ring doorbell, it's a little bit of a pain to remove the battery to recharge it, as you have to remove the whole doorbell first. They do make other models that have more easily removable batteries though, which is much more convenient. Having an electrical supply line is great if you have one, but not absolutely necessary.
A Father like me who have 2 young kids. You're heaven sent. I'm learning from your driving and handyman videos . Thanks!

The instructions that come with the wedges are so bad I thought I got the wrong product! Thanks for the video!
You're welcome, and glad I could help!
Straight forward, No bull crap video. Very helpful! Made my job of installing my ring doorbell easier. Thanks
great job honey!!! I feel so much safer to not have anything stolen.
I had put the wedge kit on backwards. This video helped me realize my mistake. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing this more in-depth video vs the unhelpful Ring video out there.
Great video using it again a year later after redoing my windows and needing to take the ring down. Still works !

Thanks mate. May I suggest a soldering iron. Much easier than those big lug things?
Great idea! I had one and didn’t think to use it.
Great tutorial. Can you tell me what type of wire was added to your existing wire my doorbell wire is to short as well
Great video, thank you. Feel confident to have a go now
You can do it!
@Stan Cravens thank you for this video. I would like to get this kit, but I only have aluminum siding to add the door bell on. Will the wedge kit go through the aluminum siding? Can I mount it to aluminum siding?
You would need to make sure you use self-tapping sheet metal screws…those work well when fastening the mount to aluminum.
@@HowSkills thank you very much.
Great video! Love how you explained everything
I just got my kit and I’m going to install it today.
Awesome! Hope it all went well.
Great and helpful video. Thanks.

Glad it helped, and thanks for watching!
Thanks! Your post was very helpful!!
Could you also use those to angle up instead of angle down if you flip them up side down or would you have mount your ring doorbell upside down to it?
Fantastic video!
Great video, thank you Sir.
Thank you for saying that and for watching!
Great video. Thank you soo much. Very helpful.

You can always add another wedge if you need more of an angle. Two wedges was just what I needed.

Fantastic review! Super simple and easy to follow :) Thanks.
Thank you so much!
You're very welcome, and thank you for watching!
Do you have to have a doorbell for the ring to work?
No, you don’t. It can still alert you on your phone that there’s someone at your door.
Can you tell me best way to attach wedges as I have the No drill mount. Thanks.
Thank u
You're welcome!
Nice thanks

Awesome! Yeah they work great…should definitely work for you!
Para la puerta principal y la puerta trasera
Sí, se puede usar para la puerta delantera o la puerta trasera.
Do I need electric line?

Or you could just custom cut a piece of dense foam and get some hardware for a fraction of the price.
Yes, that should work!
I think those are 15, 15 and 15 degree wedges.
There is no base plate for ring 3... I thought this video was for ring 3 doorbell.
You could have gotten a piece of wood for about a dollar
all rings are crap hard $ 800 lesson
I am gone to buy one
I've been very pleased with mine. It did exactly what I needed it to do!
This is so helpful, thank you!
Awesome…glad to hear it helped!
Yes it was
Well explained, thanks
