This was the best video I've seen on how to turn off the power to the doorbell. Most of the other electricians have you crawling and searching all over the house to find the transformer to cut it off. Or they tell you to cut off the power and the fuse box. Your way is much simpler by just disconnecting the power from the chime. So much easier to find and work with. Give yourself a raise, you deserve it! I'm giving you 6 stars!!!
Haha that can be frustrating. I’ve installed thousands of doorbell cameras all over the country. So if you have any questions I’d love to help! Thanks for watching!

This was an excellent tutorial! I bought a doorbell camera without realizing how extremely narrow the area where our doorbell is on the wood frame. But we have brick right next to it, so this guide is perfect.
Most people are showing the basic change out (remove doorbell and reinstall in the same spot) but you are showing us what no others are showing: HOW TO GO INTO BRICK AT AN ANGLE and then hide the wires! I would like to see another video similar to this one but to also show different ways to hide the wires. Nice idea that corner drill trick, although I do have to wonder if the combining the wires might actually be better on the inside of the door therefore you could make a more flush plate over the frame and or maybe drill new holes to the inside via the brick and plate up the inside also. I wonder equally if a glued on plate would also look a bit tidy?
Thanks for making a video on this, I couldn't find a solution for moving my doorbell location to the brick (also looking to wire install my Ring). Can you tell me what drill bit you're using to create the angled wire tunnel? Is it also possible to drill straight back into the brick and and connect the wires behind the wall? I was thinking I could connect them on the exterior and then pull them through and keep them tucked in the wall under a cover plate where the old bell was.

Thanks, this is a good video
Sweet thanks for the feedback! And thanks for watching!
Do you work for Vivint? I am a tech for them and have thought about doing this before, instead I double up on the spacers and if need be add extra 18/2 wire.
I used to yes and yes I’ve done that as well. If you have spacers that’s an awesome way to do it!
Lol that’s funny you could tell.
What type of spacers would I need? I just got the vivint Gen 2 doorbell camera installed and I hate the angle
Super helpful video!
Awesome thanks for watching! Hopefully it helps! Let me know how it turns out
What type of 18/2 wire did you use here?
I used solid but stranded also works
Just any doorbell wire or 18/2 speaker wire works

How the hell you did that angle in the brick, it's perfect, close to the door frame. Tnx for the video, very informative.
Lol thanks! I appreciate that. Years of doing it help for sure!
where did u get the drill bit and cable.
I just got it online but any hardware store will have it.
Thank you good sir!!
Thanks for watching! Hopefully it helped
What was the piece that you attached to cover the old doorbell called?
It was just a piece of white plastic I had laying around that I screwed down. But I’ve also use blank outlet plates you can get from Home Depot. Something like what you see in this link....

Thank you for your great help.
Glad it could help! Let me know if you have any questions!
What size is the drill bit
I like the 1/4 inch. Make sure it’s masonry though or it could be a pain going through the brick!
Gracias
nice video thanks
Where's you safety glasses? Stay safe. I'm putting up my Ring Doorbell. I've had this thing for years and still haven't mounted it.
Thanks! Did this video help? What’s been holding you up from installing it? I’d love to help!
Where did you get that plastic cover for where the doorbell used to be?
Good question! I just had a piece of white plastic laying around that I used. But I’ve used the old push button doorbell to cover it up or you can also use one of those blank outlet plates to help cover it up and make it look clean. Something like in this link....
