The side effect list of Ozempic reads like a horror show script. I have a friend (an older female) who took it and lost a lot of weight fairly quickly. She says she feels better, but perhaps because she is older, the weight loss left her looking older and a bit saggy. Perhaps even regular dieting would have left her looking the same. We'll never know. But side effects are not to be ignored, and anyone considering this weight loss method should absolutely read the side effects list, which is very long and very serious.
@PeterH-be1xe I read the other day that Tylenol was the "least" harmful, and that is what my doctor said, also. I've been taking OTC pain relievers for a long time, but not obsessively. I was taking acetaminophen for my painful fibromyalgia and hip pain. But my yearly blood work showed my kidneys stepped over the line of 60% to 58%, and had dropped six points in one year. I have a good diet, don't smoke, drink sodas, eat much sugar, or eat processed foods. I don't drink, or consume more than 1 or 2 cups of coffee a day. So I have to look at the OTC pain meds. My doctor isn't concerned, but a six point drop has me very concerned. So I stopped. The pain came back with a vengeance. I was also taking a prescription (diclofenac) for inflammation, and stopped that also, as it, too is an offender to the kidneys. I found that natural products that are not harmful to the kidneys have helped me a great deal.
Dr., This is quite intriguing because this weight loss injection not only aids in shedding pounds but also lowers blood sugar levels. How might it affect someone who already has low blood sugar?
If someone has low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), they likely will not be prescribed it. I am on one of the medications and if they increase my dosage, I will check sugars periodically to make sure it doesn’t drop them.
Watching this clip, I feel I am lucky, I try and eat foods that are healthy, and I do not have trouble with weight. I am not addicted to dangerous activities and when I find I am doing something that may not be good for me, I was able stop with no problem. For example at one time I used to drink about 4 diet colas a day, then I heard on the news that Aspartame may cause cancer so I stopped drinking diet soda and now I drink carbonated water which is just as satisfying to me. I cannot see myself taking Ozempic unless there is a good medical reason.
Good thing it can’t be prescribed without a good medical reason. And yes you are lucky, that luck can change as easily as getting pregnant (the most common factor in developing an autoimmune disease), or having an accident and needing pain medication. You’ll find most people with Hashimotos and other metabolic diseases actually follow very strict diets that go beyond “trying to eat foods that are healthy”, their habits aren’t the problem, The difference is they have an impaired metabolism and the weight refuses to drop beyond the overweight range naturally.
@edanagorham6757 i agree an "infinite percent" 💯 💯 💯 some bodies do not process insulin correctly, some have hormone issues, there's all kinds of things we don't understand about how our bodies work & Thank God for the truth tellers, information in power & that power should be shared!

@@RedPill77777 Mild diarrhea is fairly common, and usually transitory. Vomiting is not that common. If it’s something that keeps happening, that person is likely on too high a dose, and needs to titrate down.
That is very true. I have IBS-C and had a hard time before taking Ozembic and monjaro. After taking them one time each, I shit once a month. Even WITH medications and supplements. The bloat is real
I do need to loose approximately 100 due to a poor medication Icwas given for 4 months. I was fine before then. I hope a GL3 medicine could undo this vs getting a surgery or at least cheaper.
The average person loses 8% of muscle per decade. What do you think is the average potential of muscle growth per decade with regular (4-5x per week) exercise and standard bulk/cut routines.?
A relative is now skin & bones. She looks horrible, still on it about 2 yrs. At Christmas her clothes hung on her like a garbage bag, no shape whatsoever. Can it alter your mind? I’m overweight but I’d rather be healthy.
What about people saying they were violently ill after taking it. And a man that said his wife died after trying it to wear a pretty dress to be in their daughter's wedding. Can you talk about some of that?
@alfhilda I think something with it messing up her intestines. She was pretty chubby and wanted to look nice. Half the people (stars) that supposedly are taking it aren't that big.
@@starryadventure8922 Nope. The main function of Ozempic is repair of insulin resistance. Appetite reduction is considered a side effect, not the treatment.
@denisedarland3345 it seems different and more extreme with ozempic. It's very noticeable in youngish celebrities like Kelly Osborne and Rita Ora - in their 30's but facially now look a decade or more older. Usually when you have a lot of weight loss at that age you don't look dramatically older, something is different with the GLP drugs and facial muscle wastage. Not a good look
I've been on Mounjaro for a year. My diabetes was out of control for more than a decade. Now...totally under control as long as I TAKE THE SHOT. If I miss, my glucose control goes back to horrible. I have only lost about twelve pounds, sadly. My doctor thinks its because I am still on insulin that my weight stays the same. But without the insulin, the control is much less. So we are waiting to see what happens in terms of new meds or new doseages in the future.
Oh less dopamine urges would be a good thing for me. I dont need weight loss though. I am on healthy weight and no overweight, but taking meds for that is a bit extreme I guess haha. People that used that meds got quite sick in my country so it does have negative effects on people. Afterall we can not say its natural to take these meds
Now I'm glad I don't take that. I still eat a healthy diet despite intermittent fasting. But it isn't for everyone. Some folks need more food than others.
Not every medicine works for everyone. They all have risks and benefits, which is why so many require a prescription. These weight-loss drugs are no different.
i was confused; my Doctor tried to prescribe it for me for diabetes. It is prohibitively expensive. i'm 65 and not very overweight. I don't have a butt anymore anyway. why is a diabetes drug used for weight loss? One gram of protein per pound body weight? *buffering* Five ounces a day? Not a problem. Older? Well, THAT train has passed.
1 gram of protein per kilogram of weight not per pound. That's the difference of 91 grams for a 200 pound man vs 200 grams. 200 grams is much more difficult for the average person to eat on the American diet. A body builder would definitely use the 200 gram mark. But the average sedentary man on a GLP 1 can go by the KG rating of 91 grams
Idk about yall, but good a good old calorie deficit and working out helped me and I never threw up or felt like crap sooooo yeah lol also what people don't understand is you gotta fix what's in your head and in your gut to feel better. You take a quick fix, you missed the most important part. Keep not eating and you'll lose muscle mass. Don't want any part of that.
Ozempic isn’t allowed to prescribed to people who just wanna lose a bit of weight. They have to have certain factors to get the prescription. You do know metabolic disorders exist? You realise a person with insulin resistance or cortisol disorders who goes for a “good old calorie deficit” will essentially starve their cells of energy while all the few calories they do consume will go into fat storage… cause it’s a stress response that’s increased by low calories. That metabolic effect can be essentially irreversible without medication. Ozempic works primarily on insulin resistance, that’s its main function. The appetite reduction is a side effect that doesn’t even happen in many people who still benefit from the repaired insulin response.
It’s great for people with insulin issues. But Drs are prescribing this like crazy to people who might want to lose 20 lbs. like me. My dr offered it to me, but eating & insulin was not my problem. My issue was hormones, how would this shot help? It wouldn’t. I would just have starved myself. Then be on it forever? My sister has been on it for a year, she’s skin & bones and is only able to eat a few bites per day. Please tell me how that’s healthy. She can’t build or maintain muscle because she can’t eat. There aren’t enough studies for these shots used strictly for weight loss. I think we’ll see issues down the road.
I took both menajro and ozembic and truly honestly need my doctor and the world to understand that new medicines are horrid. Yes, they help some and some cases are significantly improved by these meds. Great for them! They needed help and it was provided. HOWEVER, I need doctors to understand there are Guinea pigs out there with complex issues. I am one. Multiple medicines to treat several rare disorders. Chronic pain and nerve issues, Functional nervous disorder or FND, fibromyalgia (not rare), Alice ins Winderland, and chronic medication immune migraines and I can go on sadly.. I took monjaro and ozembic along with my medications and was significantly impacted. Facial damage, muscle degradation, increased exhaustion and nerve strain, fuzziness to the head and thinking, and a lot of other issues, dont want a pity party so Ill shorten this. I got SERIOUSLY sick from those meds and the doctors wouldnt listen.. Do your research! Please doc, share this story. Doctor Youn, please inform people this can happen! I am one of the 10% group with my health, but this can still impact other lives like it did mine.
I’m so glad you did this video; thank you. I would NEVER go on Ozempic because of all the horror stories I’ve heard. I’m losing weight the old fashioned way (50 lbs. so far). Do you know that WW and Noom have sold out and are now offering Ozempic to their customers? I guess they had to compete but I think it’s awful!
How can you get Ozempic prescribed if you only have 10 pounds to lose but want the benefits but also lead a sedentary lifestyle due to chronic pain? Will some doctors take that into perspective?
Lots of people will experience weight loss without any appetite reduction. The majority of people who are prescribed semaglutide have some level of insulin resistance- the main thing that ozempic acts on! That’s the primary avenue of weight loss, not appetite reduction. It’s purely fat phobia that has lead people to focus on the appetite reduction aspect. We know that many older women particularly are not overeating massively, they simply have metabolic issues. Do you really think Kylie Jenner lost weight due to appetite reduction? They live on tiny portions of salad and diarrhoea teas!
These drugs were quietly prescribed by endocrinologists for years. It's very unlikely there will be a sudden catastrophe that takes them off the market.
I didn't eat for 40 something days. Just water and coffee. I lost 68lbs. Im a big guy. All the weight was muscle mass. As i started to eat and gain. It didn't come back as muscle. Just fat. My strength is about a tenth of what it once was.
your dose was too high (0.25 is more than enough for some), and you should have been prioritising protein and weight bearing exercise to maintain/increase muscle mass. this is why patients should be monitored and given better advice.
Saying that Ozempic is not FDA approved for weight loss was misleading - it has- it was just rebranded when it was. Secondly, if “Ozempic face” is not a thing, then stop calling it that. It’s “weight-loss face”. Also, my muscle mass % is going up on a 45 degree angle as my weight goes down. I believe that if people are losing muscle faster than with non glp-1 assisted weight loss, then it is likely because it is a faster weight loss. Has the speed of the weight-loss been controlled for? I somehow doubt that. Perhaps it is associated with how the drug allows weight loss without working out, and people likely eat less on ozempic, so that also should be considered. Overall, I’m sure that Novo Nordisk doesn’t appreciate a doctor with your influence repeatedly saying Ozempic face especially after just acknowledging that it’s not a real thing.
Not for everybody. I’m microdosing tirzepatide. Zero unpleasant side effects. I’m just not interested in snacks. I’m still hungry for meals. Down 20 lbs in 3 months. 20 to go.
I use it for T2 diabetes. I haven't really lost much weight, perhaps 5lbs in 8 months. It also hasn't helped lower my A1C either. Hmm, it's not doing anything for my neurological problems, unless only Parkinson and alzheimers was what was noted to improve/reduce risk

@edanagorham6757 i agree an "infinite percent" 💯 💯 💯 some bodies do not process insulin correctly, some have hormone issues, there's all kinds of things we don't understand about how our bodies work & Thank God for the truth tellers, information in power & that power should be shared!
thanks for the info's I just started Ozempic for my diabetic but I needed to loose weight as well after 4 weeks on it my legs have less pain
Ozempic has allowed my blood sugar to remain stable and in the normal range. I lost about 30 lbs, which was a bonus, but not why I use it.
It will definitely get rid of all inflammation. If you still eat junk though you won’t loose a lot of weight. If you eat healthy the pounds will fall off
I was on ozempic for diabetes and couldn't get over 0.25mg. All i did was puke. It was so horrible
There are so many benefits from losing extra fat.
Ozempic made me GAIN weight. It made me feel like I was extremely starving. I’m now on compounded mounjaro. Not sure about it yet but it does not seem to work either. 3:21
Not every medicine works for everyone.
I’m disappointed he does not address the side effects, the cons. I’d like to hear from a pharmacist.
The constipation with it is wild. Get used to shitting once a month
That is far from everyone’s experience on the meds.
Certainly hasn’t been mine, and I’ve been on a GLP-1 for 18 months now.
Most seem to have diarrhea & vomiting... I've never heard constipation.
@@RedPill77777 Mild diarrhea is fairly common, and usually transitory.
Vomiting is not that common. If it’s something that keeps happening, that person is likely on too high a dose, and needs to titrate down.
I was the opposite. It was get to a toilet now, or you're gonna shit NOW!
That is very true. I have IBS-C and had a hard time before taking Ozembic and monjaro. After taking them one time each, I shit once a month. Even WITH medications and supplements. The bloat is real
true i just lost around 20 pounds from keto and exersice and now i have "ozempic butt" XD
I do need to loose approximately 100 due to a poor medication Icwas given for 4 months. I was fine before then. I hope a GL3 medicine could undo this vs getting a surgery or at least cheaper.
Please read thru the comments and ask others questions
The average person loses 8% of muscle per decade. What do you think is the average potential of muscle growth per decade with regular (4-5x per week) exercise and standard bulk/cut routines.?
A relative is now skin & bones. She looks horrible, still on it about 2 yrs. At Christmas her clothes hung on her like a garbage bag, no shape whatsoever.
Can it alter your mind? At times she doesn’t make sense. Can’t complete a sentence.
Can it be addictive?
She’s a dental hygienist. I hope she can keep her job.
And doesn’t die of starvation.
I’m overweight but I’d rather be healthy.
What about people saying they were violently ill after taking it. And a man that said his wife died after trying it to wear a pretty dress to be in their daughter's wedding. Can you talk about some of that?
What was the cause of death? A desire to wear a nice dress is not a reason to go on weight-loss medication, it’s only for folks with obesity.
@alfhilda I think something with it messing up her intestines. She was pretty chubby and wanted to look nice. Half the people (stars) that supposedly are taking it aren't that big.
I have gastroperisis, and isn't ozempic just doing the same thing
@@starryadventure8922 Nope. The main function of Ozempic is repair of insulin resistance. Appetite reduction is considered a side effect, not the treatment.
the O face is REAL sorry,,,,I know someone that lost 45 pounds on O she is 34 years and OMG it aged her so bad
Losing weight does that. NOT Ozempic. You get the face no matter how you lose weight. It's a side effect of weight loss.
@@denisedarland3345 nope sorry you are wrong.....
It is true. People lose weight so quickly from starving.
Dear sir, I first view and like.l'm from India.(West Bengal)
It seems to me, that ozempic you protected from some risk, and can got other risks that are not good .
Not every medicine works for everyone. They all have risks and benefits, which is why so many require a prescription. These weight-loss drugs are no different.
People refer to ozempic as a general word for these types of drugs. It may not be ozempic but it’s the same type of drug,
i was confused; my Doctor tried to prescribe it for me for diabetes.
Some of yall are ignorant af.
Agree. In addition, you will continue to be healthy 20, 30 years from now... Who knows the long term effects of ozempic.
It’s NOT an ‘either-or’ false choice between the meds and lifestyle changes. 🤷🏻♂️
You can do both. And lots of ppl do.
It’s not that simple for many people. Idk why this is so hard for people to grasp.

You can’t.
Just walk a hour every day. Dont take medicine for this.
@ unfortunately I’m permanently using a walker. I have severe arthritis and can’t use my left foot.

How about pool exercise?
@ I live in the countryside in France and unfortunately there are no pools and the ocean is freezing cold ninety percent of the time.
I call bs Doc. My sister takes this and I was shocked at how sickly she looked. Its not a joke.
I give it 5-10 years and we'll see a HUGE spike in thyroid cancer from these drugs.
People have already been using peptides for 20 years.
Where did you get your medical degree?? Because, that's crap.
Why do you think it will cause thyroid cancer? I’m genuinely intrigued….
I have hypothyroidism and had to be scanned before starting it, had 6 month rescan and now will be yearly scans to make sure no thyroid complications
These drugs were quietly prescribed by endocrinologists for years. It's very unlikely there will be a sudden catastrophe that takes them off the market.
1 gram of protien per 1 pound of weight, that's a lot
I didn't eat for 40 something days. Just water and coffee. I lost 68lbs. Im a big guy. All the weight was muscle mass. As i started to eat and gain. It didn't come back as muscle. Just fat. My strength is about a tenth of what it once was.
What do you expect when you completely abuse your body like that. “I had no protein for 40 days, why am I weak?” Duh.
your dose was too high (0.25 is more than enough for some), and you should have been prioritising protein and weight bearing exercise to maintain/increase muscle mass. this is why patients should be monitored and given better advice.
We enjoy watching your show but will have to quit if the cussing persists, it doesn’t add anything to the video
Just exercise if you’re using this to lose weight. I know ppl on this medication and the side effects are horrible.
It’s really NOT an ‘either-or’ false choice between the meds and lifestyle changes. 🤷🏻♂️
You can do BOTH. And plenty of ppl do.
Not for everybody. I’m microdosing tirzepatide. Zero unpleasant side effects. I’m just not interested in snacks. I’m still hungry for meals. Down 20 lbs in 3 months. 20 to go.
Weight is almost all diet related. Just eat less.
@@e_i_e_i_bro Yeah, I’m sure it’s just that simple, and that no one’s ever tried that before. 😂

when you work out and you are active that also suppresses your appetite and cravings.
The fact that people need medications to lose weight says enough. People really don’t have patience or discipline
You don't get it. Genetics play a huge part in people's inability to lose weight and stay at a healthy weight regardless of comorbidities.

I use it for T2 diabetes. I haven't really lost much weight, perhaps 5lbs in 8 months. It also hasn't helped lower my A1C either.
