You can never underestimate a tech who knows what they're doing. The guy who fixed the frame turned a car that probably would have ended up in a scrap yard back to put it back on the road. These kind of specialists are getting harder and harder to find and are a dying breed.
Yes sir!
I think about this all the time. Amazing work!
''you're an unusual man.kai summerson.''chella paced around the pillar once'smore.she couldn't seem to keep her feet.still .too much life's in them perhaps.''this from a necromancer with my woman's corpse on the floor.''
It’s a dying trades everything is turning tech, most cars will be electric and won’t be able to do this type of stuff everyone wants to make money with the click of a finger not put in the hard work like these blokes
not hard to find a good tech. hes a kid just like the owner of the car. im no frame tech but i could of easily did that job myself with harbor freight tools.
Great to see the actual frame repair, that’s a first for any rebuild video I’ve seen.
Thanks
I agree, showing how to PROPERLY repair the vehicle instead of just slapping it back together! There used to be frame shops in every city, now you cant find em which is why these cars get tossed instead of repaired!
check Arthur tussik. Great videos as well.
Insurance companies have a ponzi scheme. They do not want frame repair shops hurting the kickbacks they get for every car they write off. They want you to buy and refinance a new car, they don;t want you fixing your old one. They do everything they can to fuck you out of your car.
MrWolfSnack not true at all. Insurance companies are a total different entity. Have nothing to do with a finance company’s. It’s what the frame repair shop costs to have the frame repaired, which with that parts, plus bodywork, and labor totals more than the cars blue book value. That’s how we car is totaled.
MrWolfSnack I have seen very expensive brand new cars sent to the frame repair shop and not be totaled out. Not a Ponzi scheme at all
Watching this whole repair series at 3 am morning, I am literally crying of happiness seeing this car repaired
This guy doing the framework knows his shit, done framework in the past, shit ain’t as easy as it looks. Requires a lot of skill, patience and technique.
Good shit
Didn't check the heights were even If I recall.
@@forevercomputing Because he didn't mention it doesn't mean that it wasn't checked. If you look is the lapse, you can see his tape flash a few times.
@@esqueue time lapse would be why I missed it then!
@@forevercomputing The Fender Gap's tell the tale of if the Frame height's are correct. A extra large Gap at the bottom of the fenders would indicate the rail(s) were to High, if the Gap @ the bottom of the Fenders were non-exiting, that would indicate the rail(s) were Down. Now if you were to mention that the repair was not done to "ICAR" standards, i.e., there should have been a "fish-plate" / "reinforcement" added between the factory rail & the replacement rail, approx. 2" in. both side(s) of where he cut. (Total of 4" in.) 4 or 5 plug welds each side of where he cut, to add the replacement rail. You'd have something to bitch about. Other wise a good repair. I would have check the wheel alignment, while it was on my rack. Yes all the parts were replaced, but it still needs an alignment.
@@noidontthinksolol "any type of reinforcements on the crumple zone of a car are a huge safety hazard." I agree, but we'll have to disagree to the reinforcements on the crumple zone of a car." The method simply move's the (very small) "crumple zone" two inches {5.08 cm} to either side of the repair / welded area, thus retaining all engineered structural integrity. It's not like your putting in 3/4" in. (1.905 cm) STEEL plate or something, the length of the "frame rail," your using the same material the car was built from / engineered for, just reinforcing the area weaken (annealed) by the weld itself. Or do you guy's over in Europe have a new welding process that prevents the annealing (weakening) of metal? I (personally) refer to metal as anything having a thickness of 0.109" in (0.27686 cm) / 12 gage / gauge, or less. I don't know if their is a "universal standard thickness" for when you go from "sheet metal" to "Plate Steel," but the former is what I go by.
Your frame guy is really good ,he did a great job on that hellcat
The hellcat is really coming along. Going to look awesome when its finished and sound like a beast.
This cat really sounds like a beast. Salute to the guy who fixed the frame. It's great to put this beast on the road again.
Your frame guy knows his shit. Nothing like watching someone who is good at his craft.
Man it turned out awesome those oem parts really paid off!!!
Sure did. Thats why I use only OEM Parts! The extra money saved on aftermarket parts not worth the time that will be spent getting them to fit.
@@RoyaltyRebuilds 100%
Alex Rebuilds yea for sure makes the frame guys job so much easier
Alex Rebuilds *trying to get them to fit you mean lol
Not as cool as vtuned
Incredibly informative and very well-produced. To look at what you started with and having the foresight and skills to see the possibilities is absolutely commendable.
It is so satisfying when you see something like a wrecked car finally start coming together while being repaired.
Watching skilled people work is something I really enjoy. And I agree with Levonza frame guy needs his own channel.
Hell yeah Alex this bad boy is going to turn into another great repair! Y’all make it look so easy man it’s crazy! We’re gonna get to 100K before we know it!
I worked at a body shop as a kid (and its the best job a young guy could ever have, around cars all day, cool dudes, learning) and the best lesson I learned was you pull out the damage the exact way the car was hit, most times it pulls out mint with no BS. Few love taps and you're good.
Getting that whole front end from one source was a game changer on this build
Watching the technician work was very satisfying to watch! really nice work!
You tubers like you are the ones that we need to support your content is meaningful content you not doing stupid craps I not saying people should not enjoy themselves we learn different things and skills in your videos you young and doing all this amazing things I HAVE SO MUCH RESPECT FOR YOU remember those people that have something negative to say about your videos are haters that don't have any of the skills you have
Yes, that, my sentiments exactly. Seems like all people want to see these days are a bunch dumb young hillbillies doing stupid shit, fucking off with their friends and blowing their cars up, and that's sad. Nobody is here to learn anything. These guys are a legitimate body and frame shop and are fixing cars in a real capacity, not some uneducated and uncertified jackass working out of his 2 car garage at home. Hats off to Alex for sharing this with us all.
and here we see a fine example of youtube comments. starts off good, and then this ^
@Dakota Sardi what do you mean?
@@lyze976 just that one comment can be good then it just turns into how it ended
@@dakotasardi7384 it happens in every comment section
That frame work was incredible. Nice job.
This kid is a natural 60 years ago when I had my shop this young man would have been worth his weight in gold, but anybody that good simply goes into business for himself
Woke
The tech in the frame shop is a true craftsman. He did a fantastic job!
Dude this is an awesome build! Can't wait for more videos!
One of my favorite channels to watch right now. Always wondered what all it took to get those cars going again. Great job 👍🏽
I love watching a real pro at work!
Music has me constantly throttling down to keep my ears from bleeding. Haven’t convinced me to subscribe yet...but haven’t run away yet either.
Excellent video. I always wondered how that was done.
Glad someone finally showed disconnecting the battery before welding on the Frame. Otherwise the computer gets fried.
Terrall Putnam that’s a wives tale about the welding!!!! As long as your ground is closer to where you welding it makes no difference and that you actually have a good ground!!! I’ve been building cars for 35 years and NEVER FRIED ANYTHING!
its only damaged generator
Yeh this is what you are supposed to do ,but have never had a problem
Curious, did you reference the OEM repair procedures for where you sectioned the frame rails? Knowing the importance of following these guidelines to the letter to ensure you are maintaining the structural integrity is super important!
We can not let these cars get damaged in this way .... we will recover all who are in these conditions and return their brilliance as if they had never crashed .... beautiful work.
I am very sad to see a Muscle Car in this condition .... I almost cry.
frame done right! good job!
One of the best RUclips video I’ve seen so far!!!
I am tired just watching. This guy is good. The test fitting is so critical but takes so much time. Most just slap it together as who is going to look at even gaps? Not Chrysler/Fiat. Very impressive that you showed all the work. Usually there are so many jumps that you wonder how they got to the finished product.
I try 😃
That frame guy was amazing. That car really looks like it turned out straight.
love the channel keep up the great work. The plus for me is that you are not repeating the brand/name of the car ever 2 mins or whenever you point something out on it. fixing the car's and letting the work speak for itself is a major plus for me.
Finaly what I was waiting for, part 4!!
B
look at that guy...very experienced mechanic.he even removed the batery plug before do the welding works.this is intend to prevent any accidantly electrical short circuit that can damaging the car electricity.....what a smart guy..........hope someday if i got some money i can visit his garage and drink beer there
The dog had better get a ride when this is all done, great work.
Here for the frame guy 👍
Go subscribe to him. His RUclips channel is rebuild with nick
Please keep the b5 blue with no decals, and dont forget to fix that dent in the lower part of the passenger door
I saw on last video most people wanted the decals. I looked up this exact color hellcat with the carbon stripes and without. Man the car is ten times better without, so clean and classy. The stripes just cheapen it.
@@HappierHealthierYou
Yeah, the fake carbon was hype some time ago. Now it's so corny. I know a guy who had it put on his black Civic Si like on the sides of the first generation Audi R8. Otherwise, a very nice car, hyper clean and well kept. BUT, he can't sell it now but at a huge discount, every potential buyer getting turned off by the faux carbon stickers ! Showes you...
@therockkkkher
REAL carbon fibers are a game changer. When properly used. Faux carbon is crap and dumb.
OMG! I was so stoked to see that beast rolling again, under it's own power, so I an only imagine how excited your were!
Ilike to said the its lots of ppl complaining about frame damage but every frame can be fix with proper tools like this man thanks
Alex your channel needs more than 30k subscribers. This channel should be at like 600k or even more
Master framer!
Watching this man on a frame machine was so relaxing. Amazing watching an artist work.
Fascinating! Thanks for posting!
I love your videos bro :-) I look forward to another video 👏😉
Awesome job man 🖒
That’s the first time I’ve seen a split repair like that on the rails. Pretty cool. Awesome progress on the rebuild.
These have been enjoyable videos to watch. A quick explanation of what going on & straight into the job at hand.
damn this is coming along quickly!
Your frame guy is amazing!
Well done. Enjoyed watching someone else doing the heavy lifting. Glad to see those safety glasses protecting the top your hard head!
Awesome to include the frame work for us. Great job
Fire content my dude
Great Job.
You did that my Man. Definitely worth the wrench time. Every thing looks superb!!!
to be honest ain't nothin better than watching someone take their time, good video!
Nice work guy's you got a new subscriber 😎👍👍
I wonder how jealous that Prius must feel.
Wonderful work making the Challenger Hellcat come back to life! Go Mopar!!!
This frame guy did some good work. Right tools for the right job. I actually like the darker blue, but the lighter blue shows the curves better...
As they say, "What a BEAST"...fantastic rebuild, Alex. Really enjoying your channel. Thanks for the great content!
You earned my subscription on this one, man! I clicked the bell too!
That frame guy is a wizard
Always an amazing work guys , that beast is coming alive
Best restoration videos on RUclips...Keep up the good work
nope, Goonzquad is
Someone get that poor guy a workbench!
And tool cart
These videos are so amazing, the work is top notch. Really love the colour of the hellcat and it sounds crazy. Happy it didn't end up parted out. I see so many vehicles written off for the craziest things and when you see repairs like this happening it's pretty cool. Keep up the great work bro and have a Happy New Year, i'm subscribed as of today!
Alex that frame tech really knows his work. It's coming together nice, wish it was my car. Good luck.
Wow in your first video I was laughing that you bought a pile of crap, I'm eating my words now, Impressive!
Me too!!
I know it doesn't hurt it to run it for short periods without coolant, but man do I cringe when I see it happen. Your frame guy does some good work, coming together quickly for you.
Won't hurt anything, could probably run for 10 minutes before any damage would be done. I do it all the time. Hell, diesels can be driven around the block with no radiator lol
@@ryanwolfe911 Oh for sure, but it still doesn't make it any less counter intuitive.
How much you wanna bet the water pump seal is toast now?@@ryanwolfe911
I agree, aluminum engines create hot spots when they don't have coolent in them.
This bloke is so skilled and talented, great work.
Excellent job. Looking great.
Thumbs up to the frame guy.
He did an outstanding job.
Gotta say..I'm inspired!
This is amazing to watch. Thanks for posting.
Outstanding work. Really beginning to come together!
Congrats on 15k!

NICE JOB..........
It's so amazing to watch him work in time lapse. You can see how often he checks for fit, and his skills are excellent!
Professionally well done and those gaps are right on the money!
This s my man !
Legit
Everyone must go to the same place for hair cuts .
So many sheeple following the pack. Not me.
Nice work! One of the most interesting videos so far! The frame guy is worth his weight in gold!
Excellent work. Most of the time, people who want to do a rebuild like this exceed the value of the car, but I think you are doing well. Good plan, talent on both your end, and obviously your frame guy is great. Gonna be a great car again!
Props to your frame guy!!
Did you put the original factory hood gaps back in ? looks too perfect to be factory Dodge.
A Ron My buddy's 392 hood and trunk gaps are horrid, lol
I used to do this work I’m a certified collision specialist and this guy knows what he’s doing /that’s also and older frame machine like I learned on my self
Amazing ! Amazing Job!!!! Saludos from Argentina!
Good frame dude, but wish he would have painted the frame rails he welded, like original, before covering with the panels.
Michael Waterman won’t they rust overtime?
was just thinking the same thing... protect that bare metal with some spray paint or something!
@@tymelock it's aluminum I believe which will not rust
@@mtbridingog9083 That was a lot of sparks when grinding that aluminum LOL
@@mtbridingog9083 but can still oxidize
I would have put some [paint on the welds and the area...unless I missed something they were bare metal when they put the body parts back on
exactly what I thought
@Oscar Burke, .....Nah, it goes like that, No one sees it no one knows ! ; P

Looks like the rails came from Detroit chop shop too ;)
