Building a Destroyed 2018 Challenger Hellcat Widebody in Minutes

- This was a fun build turning a car that was wrecked after only 1200 miles with a fate headed to a scrap yard for part out. I saved her and made her as beautiful as she was off of the showroom floor. That being said I ran into plenty of setbacks from shipping companies, dealerships, etc I was able to push thru and get her finished. Along the way I had some good fun with friends and at the drag strip with more to come. This Challenger Hellcat Widebody is so much fun to drive and for having 500HP and 707HP it is the best of both worlds when driving. I did do a few upgrades along the way from the addition of the Redeye intake, and ram air hood to the drag wing this thing is nuts. I just can't believe she is finally finished after all of the hard work, a labor of love!!!

I like that this dude knows everything about automobile what goes where and shit. He is like the superman and lex luthor combine all together to become the greatest automotive professor. Thats incredible.
Lol it’s rebuilding a car. Not heroic work. A skill anyone with a little common sense and knowledge can do if you just try and stick with it.
@@williswhatchutalkinbout4367 I know, im not saying its heroic. Well it might be in some ways but, Im reffering to he is a genius in building cars. Btw, your point is right tho. With effort everything can be achieve. I envy this guy.
i watched and waited for the most important and technical part of the whole operation and they skipped over it ... the rest is just bolt off and bolt onn
@@kevinleonard62 which part is that dude?
@@Hylfi the lining up and welding of the new chassis rails... wanted to see how they lined it up and welded it considering this one powerful car well able to do 200+ mph
Dave, that has to be the build of the year. It looked so difficult when the film was speeded up. I think that I would have sat in the corner and cried my eyes out to see all of those pieces! Enjoyed it very much!
It's easy to forget just how much work you guys put into things when we watch it happen over long periods of time. But seeing videos like this really puts it all into perspective. You start thinking about all the hours and the blood, sweat, and splitting headaches. Something that I don't think a lot of RUclipsrs hear is, thank you for choosing this as your career. Thank you for persevering through all the negative comments and low view counts. Corrupted video and missing audio. We are glad every time you choose to get up out of bed and film.
Dave the way the wife frowned at the car At the beginning of the video, Everyone will be glad to take a ride in the HELLCAT NOW!!!!!👌 American💪🏽😁
Original Owner : This Hellcat is totally wrecked.
Dave : Hold my Beer
It was totally wrecked. He just fixed it. 🤨
It just needed some love ❤
I absolutely love how you pay attention to detail, nothing is just thrown together! And your mechanical abilities are superb!!! Really enjoyed this video! I was in awe! Thank you
How in the hell do people remember where each individual nut and bolt go upon putting these projects back together?
Idk I just know I can remember the bolts for projects I took apart 10 years ago
if you have a bad memory what me n my dad do is take zip lock bags and label them
@@Junkyard_Dave u bad like that aye Dave
Photographie Brain .
A couple left over nuts and bolts never hurt anything
4.1 million Congrats Dave.
I love fast videos..there is a wealth of knowledge...if he tried to explain to me over the phone how to do these things I would give up...but seeing someone do it is totally different...i can always slow the video down also...great job.
Excellent going there, huge thumbs up! Just over 30 years ago I did EXACTLY the same procedure with a BMW 635 CSI, using the complete front end of a rear-ended 628. I swapped the roof skins too because the donor had a sunroof :-) Keep up the good videos, greetings from Germany.
loved the reaction when he asked her how she liked it when he first got it...lol I get the same reaction from my wife when I show her cars/trucks I'm gonna buy off salvage auctions. I'm all excited about a "great deal" and she just looks at me like I am the one that is confused... lol great video man.
This SRT is a beautiful car. I have a 2018 R/T but this one is a beautifal car and I love the sound. I'm jealous😟
After watching this video, I learned one thing, that it's a Hell of a Challenge, to take over a Destroyed Challenger Hellcat. Oh, and you most have some serious deep pockets, to accomplish that project!
Clever word play “hell of a challenge” but I agree
ruclips.net/video/aSrcPEkthWU/видео.html
I really love videos like this. In every move, in the way he looks at the car and call this Hellcat "She"... It shows how much he loves what he is doing. This is really awesome, thank you for such great videos! Good luck!
absolutely love how you pay attention to detail.
That was an incredible amount of work this guy did. What was a jaw dropper for me was when he pulled into the Chrysler dealership. Across the street was Phil Long Ford where 50 years ago when I turned 16 years old, my dad took me there to buy a Ford Maverick. As I kept staring at this video, I was asking myself how did 50 years fly by so fast and what did it do with it......
I’m not Mopar guy but I very much enjoyed watching you save this beautiful American muscle car.
Hi men, I'm from Colombia and let me tell you that you did a great job. Here it's very difficult to have a car but I would like to do the same as you. Congratulations bro :)
Love the passion. Just pulled the 6.4 out of my 16 SRT 392 BACK IN January. So $20k later, she's making a little over 900 to the wheels and 760 ft lbs of torque on E85. Satera Tuning, near Chicago, did a great job with the tune. Happy motoring to you, man.
Wen You Have A Passion For This, The Price Doesn't Not Matter, Its Love Thing Between Man And A Auto...Only Auto Builders Would Understand....Awesome Job Dude...👍👍👍
This build is what that brought me this channel...keep up the work dave
Holy crap Dave. What a transformation. Awesome rebuild. Loved it. Hopefully you have many awesome years to come with that car.👍🏻
Oh my God, you would be the perfect next door neighbour. Save me a ton in discounted car repairs. You're good at everything ,from mechanical to painting
This is pure excellence the way they put that car back together my God
A total savings of a 2% off of a new one. Still great video for quarantine life + house arrest. Next one please 2 hours. For real I loved it.
Once factoring in all the labor you put in, you're probably better off working some overtime to buy a new one.
Fantastic job! You went all out dude.
Back in the 90's I worked at a shop that did this type of work. It was reallly fun. Nice to see high performance cars come back to life!
Excellent job taking it all apart getting rid of all the damaged parts , Excellent work putting it all back together with new parts and parts from the Scat, Excellent Video.
Congratulations , Beautiful work , , Big hug from friend Marcos Polux Brasil 🇱🇷🤜🤛
Dave if I had to score it out of 10 I'd give it 💯. For a build that had its ups and downs and more twists than a who done it book, the result speaks for itself absolutely staggering. Well done cupcake onwards and upwards. 👍👍🤗😃🌿. Gary..... England 🇬🇧
Thanks
Super Cool Build Mate. Nice save, it feels good to rescue something destined for destruction :). I wish we had these released in Australia. I would purchase one for sure. Cheers :)
Kudos to you my friend. its a damn shame you are over there and not here in Sydney Australia, because if you were you would become my very best friend.
Dave, one of the best videos ever. I enjoy listening to you describe your work but this was a nice change. Go back to the old way now. J.
Doing an oil change is hard enough, can't imagine doing all that work without any help. Amazing job sir.
An oil change is hard?
Matthew Shaw lollll
Oil change is easy lol
To see that beautiful piece of machinery smashed up in the beginning broke my heart. But seeing you pour your soul into that beast made everything better. That car is gorgeous. I love that color! Amazing work, man. Kudos.
Nice dude. Its always very satisfyingly great to see a car that someone says is totaled repaired and given a second chance at life
I am just AMAZED at the whole rebuild. Hats off to you Sir! You know what you got.
Car is rad definitely loving the channel vibes 🥂🔥🔥

This is so cool man, can't wait to see the hellcat magnum done!!!!
Man great job. I own a 18 hellcat and can see how big of a project this had to be. Would of loved to hear you talking during the rebuild though.
Agree i love it too
Jepp
Awesome job bro!! Looks amazing!! Might of looked nice too with a flat black hood...did that on mine and gives it a totally different look. 😁👍
I like the paint match I almost paint matched the lip and skirts but decided not to in the end
That's the one thing I wish mine didnt have is the factory satin hood,I'd prefer the color match hood with stripes, but the price was right so I got a black hood
Great work bro you saved a Mopar from the crusher n now you get to enjoy it
That was amazing, thanks for filming the entire process
Thanks for the masking tape pouring trick.
You did an amazing job 👏 at first I was like no way then I continued to watch. Moper or no car
21:06
That sound is AMAZING
I've enjoyed watching your rebuild. Just wanted to tell you GREAT JOB!!!
I'm watching this video the 2nd time almost a year later and it's just as exciting as it was the first time 💯😂😂😂👍 , I hope you have had a lot of fun with the car , would be interested to hear your thoughts about it 💯👍 , thank you brother 🇺🇸
Congratulations on your new Toy, you did an amazing job. The attention to detail and patience is extraordinary. I have a question and I am sure everyone else has it too. How long did it take to rebuilt and how much money? I ask because this may inspire many of us that cannot afford or want to spend a whopping $72, 000 plus for a New car out of the dealership. Thanks for sharing this video, it was pretty cool.
Well I just watched 18 parts in less than 2 days. Might go buy my own rebuild project. LOL. Amazing job!
Dude you are freaking amazing for all that you did on your own like that is crazy what you did with something that was basically a parts car in anyone elses eyes!
2:00 + that’s the sound of a HELL CAT!
I'd give anything to have your drive and mechanical acumen... I'd love to find a muscle car and do this to it.. Awesome build!!!!

Great job! Don't know if I would have done that kind of undertaking. I took automotive technology in college years ago and I probably still wouldn't have that kind of project. Would have taken me wayyyy too long to finish. Again fantastic job on the restoration!!
You are one Junkyard "AMAZING" Dave! ..Very impressive project you did.. One of these day!
Great job bro!!
how in HELLcat did that engine survive that crash?
amazing work and great vid.
Excellent job brother! This is what I want to do once I retire from the military.
Good job 👍 ,amazing ....
Absolutelly #$@%&*@ amazing video.. my favourite so far. Great video. Great music... unbelivable patience and skills. And obviously what an amazing machine!! Well done..you have made the internet proud!
Great jog bro I need you to come work on my magnum! Great job on both tho
Youre So Amazing Sir!God Bless And keep it Up!!!
You did an amazing job transforming her ,she is beautiful, keep up the good work bro
Excellent video. I enjoyed being able to watch one of these rebuilds in the same sitting. Would you be willing to reveal what you paid for the Hellcat as well as the donor and how much you had to pay for all parts etc? Did you find that it was worth your time and money or would it be cheaper to buy a non-wrecked Hellcat?
I just love that car and what is that buck cherry 🍒 just beautiful one of my favorite cars
The color is Octane Red
what did you have to tear the inside of the car out
I thought the color was Liquid Ruby or Maroon . 😆. But it's Octane Red. Great video man! Burnout one for me! (2 lane blacktop)
Dude you did a hellva job bring her back to life, from one fellow car enthusiast to another I know the feeling you get when all your hard work pays off. You inspire me to do the samething because I want another sports car but I don’t want to pay $100k for it but I am blessed with a good sense of mechanical aptitude so I give you two thumbs up 👍 👍 and I look forward to seeing more of your builds on your channel.
13:31 mustang fastback ❤️
That is the proper way to rebuild that front damage like that, straight up replace all steel so no fu** up's with measuring and straightening.
All but respect how you did it.
Great video, Nice work, congratulations.
Just plain beautiful, great work brotha
When you reved and she jumped I laughed so hard hahaha remindsme of my chica lol
On paper this car is salvaged, in life its a reborn beast...
Battle wounds is the proper word !!!
Me too I really enjoyed this video you have a Américo hand 🖐 you really look for all details this means your are professional.
Great work Dave
Is that you Emilio at 12:43 😂😂
