Sound quality that sucks (a small room with no sound-proofing?!), in a video with no normal shots (just two hands fondling the camera) is not my cup of tea, especially when you see the hands mishandling the aperture ring, like it is some kind of toy!
For me the picture quality is much, much more important than where the various buttons, ports and thumb-wheels are (you can always re-learn!).
Battery capacity, in real life (that is during normal use, not CIPA calculated capacity), is also important!
Hello ... 2 problems i have with this camera are.
1. When i put battery in or out , it looks like it goes in at a slant and not straight.
2. When i change to NTSC , i can not use video.
Please can you help sir.
Question:
Can I pause and resume the video? Or only record and stop option without the pause? If that make sense. .. Thanks
...actually, the viewfinder also expand the RX1 on the wide size, so the difference is even bigger.
And why, oh why, is there music being played as well?!
Has nothing to do with the camera, has it?!
Also, the RX1 is a great camera as far as I can see (I don't have it). I'm not challenging that in any way.
Moreover, I think is fantastic option.
**compact** cameras are that: compact. The key feature here is size. The X100 is a compact camera and few cameras are further from being a point-and-shoot than an X100/X100s.
A compact camera may or may not be a point-and-shoot. A point-and-shoot is defined by the automation of the picture-taking process. A point-and-shoot need not be small to be such.
Sony's marketing department is great -but if you pause for a moment and think for yourself you may see things slightly different.
The rx1 is **not** the first full frame compact
Sure. There are plenty of compact 35mm cameras (just type 35mmm film cameras on amazon and you'll see).
If you meant 35mm **digital** well, still you are forgetting the leica M9.
If you were to put the RX1 in a box, the volume of that box is 514 cubic cm without viefinder and 715 cubic cm with viewfinder.
A leica M9 with a summicron m7 35 f/2 would take a box of 633 cubic cm.
So, the 1st compact (size-wise) digital 35mm camera is the M9, which takes 15% less space than the RX1 with viewfinder
Shit review! Awesome camera - just bought the R. SING IT!
