- Two people were arrested after leading Wauwatosa Police on a high-speed pursuit in a stolen Toyota Highlander on Friday, February 24, 2023. No one was injured. For more videos and photos, visit / incidentresponse .
Since the police is not authorized to pit, the criminal drives endlessly putting lives at risk. What an embarrassment.
Not really much of a risk at 14 mph
i was thinking the same thing it is an embarrassment.
Local cops call Arkansas State Police when they need a PIT.
Time for civilian vehicles to PIT for them
If the speeds are too slow the PIT doesn't fully spin the vehicle. There is a minimum speed requirement for proper pit. Otherwise it's more like destruction derby than a pit.
Not sure if this is why they didn't though.
officer: "spotted a stolen vehicle". Captain: " Follow him around for a week and a half, go ahead and stop for gas if you need to".
No need to be exaggerating. The police department has pursuit policies, and this department is similar to Los Angeles Police and Fort Worth Police policies.
I suspect that if they were more aggressive in the pursuits that there would be someone who would be bitching about that as well.
@@jackio46 people are going to complain about anything the police do. They expect them to do things and when they do it, its a problem .
Lol, it feels like that!
The 1 cop did have a big bush bar on the front of the car, why not use it?
Tosa leadership, use your logic: stop the threat before innocent people are harmed. Pit and end the pursuit ASAP. Learn from Arkansas State Police.
Different departments have different pursuit policies. Stop making these comments and have knowledge of them before doing so, it's a waste of time
@@tobeannounced_TBAEAS What will you do about it?
@@peachteagirl just spreading the word. Don't act so threatening.
@@tobeannounced_TBAEAS I'm not I was just wondering
@@tobeannounced_TBAEAS Do you think that they should change the policy or keep it as is?
Holy crap, do something other than follow him around.
ever heard of pursuit policies? I guess not.
Yeah, they need to take a few lessons from the troopers in Arkansas, especially the "BYRD" !!
@@LxiEQ A FEW HOURS ...LATER.
Offer driver a cheeseburger to stop, something tells me he likes them burgers... 😁
Your job is to STOP them, not follow them around all day.
Politicians and other powers that be that have no business making those types of decisions think otherwise.
Found the keyboard cop I bet you would’ve done just a stellar job and neeever make any mistakes
The cops let that go on way, way too long. There were plenty of opportunities to stop that nonsense much sooner. Local DA's & Judges need to start treating people like this seriously. As long as they keep getting away with stuff like this more and more people will keep doing it.
Patrol is not allowed to make it up as they go along. They have to follow departmental policy. The policy needs to change to consider your suggestion. Until then...you can stop making these comments.
@@RLTtizME Cmon, really. Its the comment section. Someone is just saying what everyone is thinking. It doesn't matter what, who, where, or how -> something obviously needs changed.
Thety should not have started a chase
@@sonnylatchstring Thety always does that.
@@superhawk20002 So you agree.
This just demonstrates what you have when your police cannot stop a vehicle with a PIT .
They've completely neutered that police department.
A Grappler would have been a nice tool to have for ending *this* pursuit once it got slow. Could have been on any one squad in the department, they had time to go back to the station and get it, even.
And the suspect was probably out of jail before the paperwork was completed.
21:58 worst spike throw ever 😂
Saw that?....
@Lucas T 👈🤡 It's dangerous.
It’s going to be a long hot summer for Milwaukee and Tosa. These felons simply don’t spend any time in jail or prison.
Wau Wau too.
always back out the next day on a signature bond so they can do it all over again
Liberals
Exactly. Some criminals know exactly how to escape both without being caught.
I always like to imagine the conversation being had by the occupants of the fleeing vehicle. Lol
I think I've seen enough police chase videos to know that they probably could have pit that guy on one of those side streets a long time ago.
My God! That was painful! That should have been brought to a conclusion soon after they knew his front tyre was knackered. So many missed opportunities. I know that "officer safety" is a concern, but, come on, these officers are cowards. Several times they were told to get a car in front of the Toyota to contain it, but they all failed. SMH.
DEPARTMENT POLICY. THEY CAN NOT MAKE IT UP AS THEY GO ALONG. BLY-ME MATE.
Finally! A department who’s sirens shuts off when in park.
Either stop them right away or let them go. Why endanger everyone on the road waiting for the car to breakdown?
Exactly what I was thinking. Like anything could of went wrong the first 10 mins....the last 20 was a head scratcher. Just casually tailing them for miles going 20mph 🤔
I counted 107 traffic infractions by the pursuing officers times that by the 5 other pursuing squad cars (there was more) and include the car fleeing that's 749 times in 30 minutes that unsafe driving amongst the innocent was of no concern, at 1.5 innocent in each passenger car not including the pedestrians near cross walks, workers in the construction zones let's round that to 2 x 749 for a total of 1598 lives at risk of injury &/or death for 30 minutes of police work that is all about officer safety not the public's safety & you have one of the most irresponsible things going on every day 24/7 in every city, county & state, nation wide. Your risk of COVID is less than that (it was a big deal for 2-3 years) & who rolled that out for all to fall victim, your government the same people who roll out this kind of policing. To call it shameful just doesn't cut it. What would be a better word.

The world's slowest pursuit chase ever caught on camera.
Guess you've never seen any police chases from California then.
Oh no, that one was a fast one. The slowest ever i think recorded was in Montréal´s downtown in winter in deep snow with fugitive & police cars tires spinned like hell. It was just faster than a jogger.
I know Toyotas are reliable and last a long time, but you don't have to wait until the car breaks down to conclude the chase.
the calm demeanor of these cops is amazing. It's like they're talking about the dinner menu.
Reminds me of a Canadian police chase video. The bad guys got bogged down in the snow and got out and pushed their car. Cops right behind them got out of their cars and pushed theirs.
They should have pushed the bad guys car as a kind gesture 😅
@@Helmy67 lol
My man needs to learn to throw then sticks better 😂😂😂 dude was going like 10 mph max. At 22:00
That was the lousiest effort I've ever seen lol
I think hes underreporting the speed because he doesn't want dispatch to call it off
Dispatch does not call off the pursuit, patrol supervisors do.
Okay yeah that's what I meant
But he went from turbo mode to Sunday Cruise real quick
Due to narrow roads, it should be obvious.
*while the chase was going on, they could have flown trooper byrd in,*
*then put him in any vehicle and a few minutes later the whole fun would have been over.*
Following the Californian play book of vehicle pursuit I see
How so? How is Diane? Are you still sporting your toupee?
Dems
Cop car rattles like when I'm driving the golf cart on the course.
Streets so fkn bad up here 😫😫😫😤😤😤😤
That’s quite a Follow policy. Stop the car guys. Or waste half a day following and being dangerous Just my opinion
I gotta say, they have no intention of catching them. They hope the perps just decide to stop and run somewhere.
I'd love to go back home to WI. Always lived in the Milwaukee area. But man, the police... Any these neighborhoods just don't seem very safe anymore. The criminals have read your playbook WI law enforcement, you are at a disadvantage and have become ineffective.
@IncidentResponse Could you possibly move the water mark up in the sky a little instead of in the middle? Ty
Right
The sad and inept Wauwatosa Police Department in action ... 😆😢😡😒
LOL yeah until you need them right dude.... Thank your local state & federal politicians.
Come on Tom! Bout time! 20 minutes after tires are flat. Big red says take em!!!
I really appreciate the security guard tactics. 'Observe and Report'. This allowed the suspects to return to a more populated area where anything can happen.
(sarcasm)
why dont they pit them when they that slow
DEPARTMENT POLICY. Yes....police agencies have policies. They are not all the same.
@@Zchan23 You be trippin again Chief?
@@Zchan23 LOL......
They are not permitted to pit the vehicle.
Aside from policy, performing a PIT at that speed is more or less ramming instead of a PIT.
Just Pit them or parallel and get in front and box them in.
I am sure they never thought of that. Unfortunately they are guided by department policies. Hope this helps.
If I were a taxpayer in Wauwatosa, I would be ashamed of the lack of intervention by the police to end this pursuit
Eh wauwatosa is pretty peaceful place, but the chase was also in milwaukee with milwaukee police, tosa just the ones that started it. At one point in time in milwaukee the police couldnt chase us at all because risk to public that was a crazy time it most def felt good to never to get caught 😭 but those days are over
The intense surprise when the door openend. Not. xD
Exactly! I’m sick of it!
Best part is the first stop sticks as the guy slowly drives around them... at 12 mph. And then the officers saying they need to get this vehicle slowed down -> how much shower can it go? And to top it off, then radio calls that the vehicle needs stopped asap. There was ample opportunity to accomplish that one. Lol. I thought this was an intro to a new Super Trooper movie.
EDIT: Holy hell, I'm surprised every suspect isn't shot dead from confusion as multiple officers yell different commands as an arrest takes place. Comedy gold.
😂😂😂 man I couldn't tell who was dumber, the cops or the burglars. I would of just gave and said fuck it, take me in. Clearly its a stalemate
Holy white balance, Batman!
In most states they have a policy not to chase somebody it is not worth it for a stolen car. I'm from New Jersey there's been a lot of people killed innocent people by police pursue. some cops can get in trouble if I'm not mistaken for chasing a stolen car
You can turn off the sirens,I'm sure he knows you guys are behind them 😂😂😂
Is that why you think they have their sirens on? Please stay off of the roads and out of voting booths.
Keystone cops
You could have thrown your walker at them....give em a hand will you?
Why in the hell would you just follow this car at 15 mph for 20 mins before doing anything??? Crazy. Box this guy in and stop him.
11:06 Collision with FedEx truck.
26:15 How about yelling "Pull your pants up!"?
I like how the blacks of Milwaukee don’t think it’s necessary to pull over for flashing lights
were sirens necessary at 16 mph?
What a WASTE of GAS!!
Bravo, Mike
What is with the blue filter? Horrible
ADHD?
Probably the camera lens effect from the extreme temperature changes around that time of year.
Actually, some of the things the cops did I found exceptional. They closed both directions of that road ahead very quickly at the end, for example. Much less danger of civilian casualties if they had to shoot. As a civilian, I found that comforting!😊
As they let the guy drive. aimlessly around without pitting him. They could’ve ended the Chase a lot sooner.
Can't believe they let them go so long.
Is there something in are water or air that is cause to this mad things happening in our towns !!!
Didn't realize Wauwatosa cops trained in southern California. Absolutely senseless strategy.
This is the most ridiculous 'pursuit' I have ever seen. What a waste of time watching it.
I was really hoping to hear the driver say "Why you being so rough, stop abusing me, you're hurting me" etc.
TERRIBLE
Hair color had me confused for a minute
Nope it was the usual suspects
If I just keep driving those pesky old cops will just give up and let me go on my way😂😂😂
Somebody teach this cops how to PITT. The dude has shredded tires, going about 10mph. It should be easy to box him in or spin him out
They get out with their phones like they get to keep them.
Hey AR are you watching this in WI? This is what you're supposed to do when you see officers in pursuit!
The officer that deployed the spike strips needs to learn how to do it the right way .
Was this for programming purposes? Why did this go on for ever???
In certain areas of Texas they seldom get much snow and if they do everything stops as they're not used to it.
I found this to be an embarrassment on law enforcement...
I'm sure their feelings are hurt😉
Good job officers. But as soon as they slowed, why not PIT? There were lots of open areas.
With new cars and the improved sound insulation, add music and/or earbuds, and folks just don't seem to hear the sirens and of course, don't check the rearview very often.
Damn Wisconsin, you sure do know how to slow down and pull over.
"Look Mommy... Its the 18 MPH Christmas parade!"
They knocked his ass right down-despite him walking right up to them! They have that NEED!
Why are law enforcement unwilling to put a bullet through a tyre?
What's with the Milwaukee area police? They follow and narrate, seldom use stop sticks, but never use boxing the vehicle or use a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle and keep the driving public safe in a timely manner.
Can't PIT per the pursuit policy
You can listen to your favorite cd before being arrested, the whole cd
My god, where's Arkansas State Police when you need them... this pursuit would have been ended in the first 5 mins...
This is pathetic! Pit him and get this done.
The only thing missing is calling out traffic infractions!
I a thinking that a pit after the slowed might have stopped this crazy bs 10 mins sooner.
They lost them for a little while...
If i was the officer id wanna use the loudspeaker and say "if you dont want a longer sentence pull over now"
Enough with the play by play, stop him dammit
Do you think they were hoping he'd pull into a Dunkin' Donuts and they could all grab a doughy one? Seems reasonable don't ya think?
This police dept sucks. Pit that car, you had plenty of chances to do so
What a waste of resources!
They finished smoking that dime peace
3:44 That driver needs to be fined or disciplined in some way. Mind-boggling.
Clueless
Wauwatosa, Wisconsin looks like a nice place to settle down.
I’d much much rather see somebody actually go down for an arrest than just nothing
Former officers here. Some of these comments are just ignorant. No, the officers aren't cowards. They follow policy. Yes, they could have stopped it sooner, but they have to follow department policy. The policy very likely says they aren't allowed to PIT unless they have been certified to do so. If they do it anyway they would be fired or suspended, and if someone gets hurt, guess who gets sued? There is also probably a policy about intentional damage to city equipment. There are supervisors listening to the pursuit who may or may not authorize additional measures, but without that authorization, these officers are going to follow policy. If they don't, there will be consequences and none of them are good.
What's is the policy regarding use of turn signals during a pursuit.
Bet you didn't know your exempt from turn signals when there is an officer down. What is the other exemption for signaling?
@@andycurran3327 In my state, officers are exempt from most traffic laws while in performance of their duties. They must still use due caution and if negligent will be held responsible
Well, I think they performed quite well. They were obviously trained in high speed pursuits, and as much as they could, kept civilian traffic in mind at intersections as well as quickly closing that crossroad to traffic at the end. GJ😊
Thanks for the logic!
2 minutes in and I was wishing this was Arkansas state troopers who would’ve pitted the hell out of that suv. Even when it was driving under 30 mph without traffic or pedestrians the entire police department just followed it around keeping a distance of about 3 car lengths. What the heck?
WHAT IS THE CONSTANT TICKING IN THE COPS AUDIO
Bravo the police, you have a dangerous job and you deserve our respect. As for these dangerous fools who think they are all powerful at the wheel of a vehicle, we must not give them the slightest chance of getting out.
They should've pit him instead of just playing follow the leader, to many chances to shut the chase down
Y'all are all talking about how long the cops take. I'm looking at the town. I bet this place looks awesome at Christmas!
To anyone who would say that these officers could have intervened and ended this sooner, I would ask you how much pursuit training it is that you have had, and what experience you have that you may hold such an opinion, for it is that you do not know what sort of reaction may occur if you do ATTEMPT to disable a vehicle, for it certainly it is that there is no certainty, as it is but merely an attempt.
Just as well, you forget that these vehicles may only travel so quickly, and given that other individuals lives are all around, do you think that they should simply act recklessly to end a chase sooner, as opposed to observe and report and attempt to give the suspect reason to slow down as opposed to speed up? To drive less erratically than more? Once the officer saw the extent to which this driver was willing to get into proximity with speed, he decided to back off, I believe this to be wise.
Once the tire was on the rim after the collision, they simply had to but wait for the man to give up, as they did. It caused the least risk and damage since the vehicle was a low speed object and clearly predictable. Being in city limits, it would be unwise to pit and cause unnecessary damage more than what was already caused to the public, I think. You may dislike the time spent but I would rather see time spent than risk money and life, for before the tire was lost there was no safe time to attempt to stop the chase besides stopping it entirely
Wow, just Wow!
The fact the Wauwatosa police ALLOWED this chase to go on so long and put so many lives at risk is criminal negligence and the individuals who act as police should be held liable forputting the public in danger.
Any other cops of any kind in that town? If you're not serious about stoppiing these perps in an efficient matter, don't even bother trying.
they aren't allowed to destroy their police cars
That squad was screaming and going no -where !!!
Водила молодец не обострял обстановку во время гонки.Респект чуваку!
The policy of this police department is an embarrassment to law enforcement. In Arkansas the driver would have been pitted in a matter of minutes significantly reducing the risk of harm to other motorists.
Very well done, calm cool and collective
