In addition to other charges, anyone fleeing from the police who exceeds the speed limit or hits _anything_ should be sentenced to 2 years in prison - no parole.
2nd offense, 5 years in prison - no parole, permanent revocation of driving license within the US. 3rd offense, life in prison - no parole.

"MILWAUKEE - A high-speed police chase ended with a crash near 76th and Villard on Milwaukee's north side Wednesday, Feb. 2.
The stolen Jeep being pursued flipped and went airborne as it crashed into several cars parked on the Hart Auto lot. The wild moments were captured on camera.
"It happened so fast because he was coming so fast," said Christine Gaspardo with Hart Auto. "It was just in a matter of a seconds - poo - everything was flying everywhere."
The stolen SUV barreled through the intersection of 76th and Villard, ignoring the speeding police cars behind it. It hit a red car and then a fire hydrant before taking flight in the Hart Auto parking lot.
"It went airborne, it flipped over several times, it turned over," Gaspardo, a former EMT, said. "I saw the gal laying on the ground, so I started to assist her with one of the police officers."
Stolen vehicle pursuit ends in crash near 76th and Villard in Milwaukee
Milwaukee police said the pursuit began near 60th and Capitol - roughly two miles away from where it ended - shortly after 1:30 p.m. A police officer spotted the SUV, which had been stolen in a reported armed robbery, driving recklessly and tried to stop it, but the driver refused.
The driver of the stolen Jeep, along with two passengers, sped through the streets while documenting it all on Facebook.
"Everything was live (streaming) while they were driving around in my truck," Pamela Watkins, the stolen Jeep's owner, said.
Watkins followed along, finding her stolen Jeep destroyed. The Lyft driver said she had been carjacked a day earlier after picking up a teen.
"When I turned back to look at the young man, he pulled out the gun and pointed it at me, and he said, ‘Ma’am, you got to get out your car,’" said Watkins.
As Watkins processes it all, Larry Rowell, the owner of Hart Auto, looked at his own damage in disbelief.
"Broken windshields, smashed in windshield, the roof was damaged on top," said Rowell. "It smashed into these cars, and that’s where it was a domino effect all the way down."
Stolen vehicle pursuit ends in crash near 76th and Villard in Milwaukee
An unforgettable day is leaving its mark in more ways than one. MPD said a gun was recovered, and a 17-year-old was arrested. The teen was taken to the hospital along with the two passengers and the drivers of two other vehicles. Nobody at Hart Auto was injured.
"It’s very sad that kids think this is OK," Watkins said.
Criminal charges are expected to be filed in the coming days."

What a laborious task, repeating every 10 to 15 seconds all the same info, over and over and over. Color, make and model, as though the crims might give it an on-the-fly paint job. Reason for the pursuit, as though the instigating impetus is gonna change any moment. It's almost like a test, to verify the pursuing cops aren't suffering some short term memory defect, or that they haven't got lost or distracted, and started chasing someone else, like a dog after a squirrel.
It seems a bit insulting to me. And it had better not be expected if the cop is by himself; that could lead to a bit of task overload when fractions of a second make a huge difference to reaction times.

1st- absolutely a phenomenal job with driving and being aware of surroundings. Not falling into the TunnelVisionZone!
2nd- why did half the police cars/vehicles not have their lights on?
3rd- many ppl say he did a great job with radio, however I would say too much talking. Only need to provide on a continuous basis the direction of travel, speed and traffic conditions. Maybe it’s their departmental policy to say the reason for the chase after EVERY SINGLE TRANSMISSION and surface conditions after EVERY OTHER TRANSMISSION but that’s the 2 things that rarely ever change. If it does Hapn to change (like traffic conditions) then give that update. Due to the nature of the original crime, it’s unlikely that the pursuit would get terminated by a supervisor, however if by chance a supervisor wanted to terminate the pursuit, they couldn’t because these officers laid on the mic button whereas it left little room for ANYONE to get on the radio. For instance, the officer that laid the spike strips probably couldn’t even get on to say his location and that he was deploying spike strips. (IMO)
But again, great job driving and being aware of lights/stop signs and entering intersections with due caution

One thing I’ll point out… The lead car had the chance to end it early with a TVI! When the Jeep was making the turn at a slow speed he had the opportunity! Every damn officer needs to be TVI/PIT certified. That way these accidents don’t happen!
