Not only My favorite song it is also the 1st Rush song I ever heard! I was 10 years old sleeping in the yard on 4th of July. After the fireworks it was quite in our 4 family neighborhood and the teenage boy next door put this song on and had it cranked! Through Head phones it's amazing!
Time Machine 2011 was the best Rush show I’ve seen, dating back to Moving Pictures ‘81. Neil’s drumming was as precise, quick, and powerful as ever. The Camera Eye was absolute perfection.
This was the only Rush concert that I've been to. The intro video with Rash didn't play, and Alex came out first looking for the others lol. After Presto, Geddy apologized and said that "sometimes magic doesn't happen". Stick It Out sounded so much better in person than on the Different Stages album. It's interesting to see how bands deal with mistakes.
This is so much better than an official pro shot show because it doesn't cut to a different camera angle every 2 seconds which is why I can't watch Rush in Rio. Gives me a freaking headache but this is fantastic. Thank you.
The 3 words I'm proud to say are "I WAS THERE!". The Woodlands Cynthia Mitchell Pavilion. I'll never forget this night. Thank you, gentlemen! (also met Howard Ungerleider who is a WIZARD with lighting and direction. Thank you, Howard for signing my Moving Pictures CD insert!)
This has ALWAYS been one of my favorite Rush songs, its was worth the ticket price alone to here this song. I seriously felt the ol' hairs stand up during the Moving Pictures set...
I must say as true RUSH fans we all heard the mistake, anylised it, figured it out and came to the conclusion that they are still the most amazing band in the world. LOL! The fans are equally amazing as the band!! Seeing them in in Frankfurt soon hence my emotional comment!
I only recently became a huge Rush fan, and Camera Eye is one of the coolest tunes ever. And I just found out about Red Rocks because during a recent business trip to Colorado I visited there breifly. Anyway what a great show this must have been! I can only imagine, and hope they filmed it for a Bluray/DVD concert, so that I can see it.
Awesome capture! The Atlanta show this week was best Rush show ever for me ... Geddy's voice took a little time to completely warm up but he got there. This song was huge for me - 29 years since I last saw it live. Cheers.
This is the best concert footage ever. You deserve great credit for having a great camera eye and a steady hand. You obviously knew the music too cause you pan over to the right places at the right time A+++++
FANTASTIC Capture !!! Its better than most broadcast video I've seen, audio is good, its got that Red Rocks reverb to it which is special in its own right, GREAT JOB !
Anybody else notice the mistake at the 6:55 mark? Just goes to show how even the best can make mistakes. Just goes to show that they are really only human like all of us. Great video! THANK YOU FOR POSTING IT!
Thank you for the camera info. I've been looking for a nice vid camera for a while. All your video coverage is great - thanks for posting - made my day.
I cannot believe the quality of your videos. I know you were near the stage but even so the picture is so clear it's incredible. Great to see a great band like Rush close up like this and the sound is very good, too. Great job!
@mousearebec I don't know of any venue that will allow video cams in. This was taken with a Panasonic ZS7. The audio is great just because this camera line (older models included ie ZS3 and ZS5) can handle the volume without clipping. It was a feature I specifically was looking for since there are some others like Canons and Sonys that shot great video but the audio sucked.
PS: Great quality bootleg...I can't believe how clear the picture is!
Just goes to show were only human everyone can make a mistake , I'll have to admit I've never seen Neil make one until now but they eventually pulled it back together
@mystikrhythms61 The show in Cleveland was filmed on April 15th. The DVD/BluRay called "Time Machine" is in production and will be released on September 27 2011 by Concord Records.
@mystikrhythms61 dude relax. I was merely correcting cwodragon who was blaming Lerxst. This song is incredibly complex and its the first time they've played it on tour since '83 so its only understandable that it's not as polished as the other songs.
Heard there were tech problems on Monday, and if this was one of them with the pre-rec not exiting on time... I think they handled it well. We flew up from Houston for the Wed show... excellent. We'll see them at Cynthia Woods on Sept 25th. But Red Rocks is the place to see them... or any show for that matter. Excellent vid by the way.
@mousearebec monday had some issues with the opening video sequence into Spirit breaking down, it looked like a power failure type thing as it took them awhile to get things 'rebooted' ie Alex's amp lights and tv screens and the same on Neil's riser - though they were able to play the show just fine. The issue in this performance was Ged's brain fart at 6:55. That wasn't a tech issue, he just got lost. He was playing the keys with his pedals.
I took a course called "The Language of Architecture" my freshman year at Cornell University. We were asked to write a paper about the architecture of a song. Given its lyrical themes and corresponding music, I chose this song. I think I got an A.
@MickAv8r your spot on,if it wasnt for Al they would have been all lost. Neil new exactly were to come back after he hears the Rhythm guitar section. Im a bit surprised that Geddy didnt pick up on it and also come in at the correct time. Maybe cos Neil didnt repeat the fill that leads back into the Rhythm section Geddy was unsure. Its nice to know that your heroes can also make mistakes. Still an amazing show and band!!
actually watching it again I can see where Neil blows it, he only goes for the 8 bars then does his fill early at 6:41 and transitions to the verse (hi hat pattern) then realizes his mistake and goes back to the ride. Hence his tentative transition at the end of the 8 bars and Geddy was probably used to keying off that fill.
@MickAv8r What are you using for the video... and the sound, we were in row 28 and it was so loud and distorted how you're able to attentuate sound and have it come out so well. Don't think they will let us take vid cams even small here in Houston according to Cynthia Woods Pav web site. And is it actually you who shot this???
@Bonzosbadgeholder thanks appreciate it. My camera has a fairly decent zoom which allowed me to crop the shot to give special attention to whoever deserved it, though admittedly this often caused focus problems since with these cheaper point and shoot cameras you get contrast based autofocus and its very slow. In the future I'll probably chill out a bit on that or at least not pull back so far before moving the shot.
i dont think that is a tribute or anyway i have my problem to think out of a track like this while tuning it, neither i can assume rush vision close to dire straits folks
@cwodragon nope, Al was right. The 8 bar pattern that they play starting at 6:31 is played then repeated before the "London" verse. If you count out the 16 bars you'll see Alex hits the transition perfectly and Neil goes with him though seems to bumble the fill there and the beat is a bit muddied and of course Geddy keeps his foot on the pedal keeping the keys going. Watch an example where its played perfectly (see my video of this song in Boston) the 16 bars then the verse. Al was right.
They weren't cheap as I recall. Probably at least $300-$400 hundred each. Bought from either Ticketmaster as a resale or from Stubhub I can't remember. We bought them day of the show and sold our other seats I think.
@jfl440 Then I assume you saw the crazy guy selling beer in the goofy outfit walking around... He's probably a regular there. I really wasn't too crazy about the sound. Loud is one thing but distorted just doesn't do service to such a great venue as Red Rocks. Wish they were going back there this summer on their continuation of the tour, but oh well, don't want to get burned out. Austin is the closest they are coming to Houston. Still have faint moments of "The Camera Eye" stuck in my head.
@MickAv8r at mohegan sun in conneticut(can't spell), we were allowed to bring camras, the thing was you wouldn't find out about it untill you drove 120 miles to get the tickets AT mohegan sun the day of the show.
It was actually Geddy AND Neil. Neil came into the London verse too early but corrected himself fairly quickly, but Geddy also played an extra C# on the foot pedal when he shouldn’t have.
Just the master at work for an honest living!!!
Wow great, clear footage! Love the extra footage of Neil. Awesome 👍🏻
Time Machine 2011 was the best Rush show I’ve seen, dating back to Moving Pictures ‘81. Neil’s drumming was as precise, quick, and powerful as ever. The Camera Eye was absolute perfection.
I would've given anything to have been at this show! Thanks for the great coverage guy!!!
This was the only Rush concert that I've been to. The intro video with Rash didn't play, and Alex came out first looking for the others lol. Totally agree.

This has ALWAYS been one of my favorite Rush songs, its was worth the ticket price alone to here this song. I seriously felt the ol' hairs stand up during the Moving Pictures set...
Agree totally, but am I right saying the band didn't exactly like playing it? the reason it was hardly played on tour.
Alex is a guitar god ❤ Damn watching that one song was worth more than i can say.😊 Thank You guys🍁🇺🇸
Jesus what a fucking great band... and a great song. Watching Neal is a thing of beauty 🌛
Thanks Universe
I must say as true RUSH fans we all heard the mistake, anylised it, figured it out and came to the conclusion that they are still the most amazing band in the world. LOL! The fans are equally amazing as the band!! Seeing them in in Frankfurt soon hence my emotional comment!
Minor train wreck around 7 min, first drums, then the other two caught up, but they pulled it together! Miss da boyz. Great vid, cheers.
I guess it's kinda randomly asking but does anybody know a good website to watch new movies online?
@Kaleb Kaysen thank you, signed up and it seems to work =) I appreciate it !
@Gunnar Jayden glad I could help :D

Yup, I was there. It never gets old.
FANTASTIC Capture !!! Its better than most broadcast video I've seen, audio is good, its got that Red Rocks reverb to it which is special in its own right, GREAT JOB !
Awesome seat 💺 Thank you very kindly!!!
Anybody else notice the mistake at the 6:55 mark? Just goes to show how even the best can make mistakes. Just goes to show that they are really only human like all of us. Great video! THANK YOU FOR POSTING IT!
Yes I noticed it but wow when I saw this tour in Connecticut it was awesome
Dude how much were those seats ?? DAMN your close.👍✌
By far my favorite Rush song. It took too many years for them to play it, but it was worht the wait.
Thank you for the camera info. I've been looking for a nice vid camera for a while. All your video coverage is great - thanks for posting - made my day.
Thank you!!!
This is great footage. Best quality out there, hands down!
Do you hear that, Neil? You are always with us! From Russia with love...
i've seen this tour 4 times. this song gave me chills every show.
I cannot believe the quality of your videos. I know you were near the stage but even so the picture is so clear it's incredible. Great to see a great band like Rush close up like this and the sound is very good, too. Great job!

ALEXS SOLO AT 8:18 IS GREAT, HE PLAY WITH SUCH FEEL, AND HIS FACIAL EXPRESSION REALLY SHOW PASSION
Absolutely loved it, and nice save Alex!
Nice job on the video Mick!! AMAZING show!! I was at both!! Enjoy seeing this again!!! Thank you!!
The main reason I saw this tour, this song right here.
@mystikrhythms61 dude relax. I was merely correcting cwodragon who was blaming Lerxst. This song is incredibly complex and its the first time they've played it on tour since '83 so its only understandable that it's not as polished as the other songs.

that is awesome quality
Tat solo is the definition of Tension and Release! Awesome.
What kind of camera is that??? That is some great video!
@mousearebec I was at the Wed show too. Drove out from Memphis to see it. glad I did. Awesome band, awesome venue. Good times.
They are only human... :) Great vids. Thanks for sharing. I'll be at the filming in Cleveland.
Even when they screw it up its amazing!!!!
wow, I'm glad someone else noticed that. but yeah, they get a pass.
When you’re not 90, but you sound like you’re 90, because you watch a Rush video and say, “I miss the good ol’ days” …
@25newrush
Same here. Absolutely amazing song
my favorite most underrated rush song.
I took a course called "The Language of Architecture" my freshman year at Cornell University. We were asked to write a paper about the architecture of a song. Given its lyrical themes and corresponding music, I chose this song. I think I got an A.
Was the mistake at about 6:50?
Yup.....a rarity
@MickAv8r your spot on,if it wasnt for Al they would have been all lost. Neil new exactly were to come back after he hears the Rhythm guitar section. BIG UP YO!!!! NICE RECORDING!!!

everyone makes mistakes. we are all human :) look into my channel in the subdivisions video, i dropped my sticks a lot of times

Lifeson absolutely guitar god number 1 for me..... effing rips !!!!!

MickAv8r
KILLER seats and KILLER recording, so clear and nice... awesome work.. Cheers!!
🎸🥁🎸
R.I.P Professor 🔥✨⚡
@ZOGGYDOOB Rush trainwrecks are fun because they are so rare. Neil started it, then geddy. Cool!!;)
I love Lerxst's tribute to Mark Knopfler in the last riff of the guitar solo (same phrasing as The Sultans of Swing solo)
i dont think that is a tribute or anyway i have my problem to think out of a track like this while tuning it, neither i can assume rush vision close to dire straits folks

Hello just wondering how much it was for your tickets - Thanks -----MickAv8r
They weren't cheap as I recall. Probably at least $300-$400 hundred each. Bought from either Ticketmaster as a resale or from Stubhub I can't remember. We bought them day of the show and sold our other seats I think.
GOD MAN.....IT's like beeing there
sylvain

Neil actually messes up pretty bad there at 6:40. you didn't see that very often.
I don't see it :-| Though I did see him drop a thrown stick once. Everyone was in shock - "Neal isn't perfect?"
I retract, sequencer/key error, not Alex
They missed a few spots there......but it''s how you recover.
Andrew MacNaughtan at 6:44 ?? Plus, a pretty clear mistake afterwards by Alex. Oh
8:16 pure eargasm
in my opinion one of alex's harder solos to pull off live but he did a good job!
wow, this is better than the offical released time machine dvd. geddy sound much better here. and its more livelier
@MickAv8r at mohegan sun in conneticut(can't spell), we were allowed to bring camras, the thing was you wouldn't find out about it untill you drove 120 miles to get the tickets AT mohegan sun the day of the show.
Just a gimmick to get noticed. I wasn't one of them, we were over to the side a bit from them. We were in the monkey masks though ;)
Not bad, not bad! The boys rock!
Bring out your dead...lol
Alex had the brain fart at 6:55 it wasn't Geddy but who cares they're still Rush.
It was actually Neil , he came in with a drum fill to early in the song
It was actually Geddy AND Neil. Neil came into the London verse too early but corrected himself fairly quickly, but Geddy also played an extra C# on the foot pedal when he shouldn’t have.
it's sausage time!
Yeah, you're right it was a Geddy brain fart.
They are only human... :) Great vids. Thanks for sharing. I'll be at the filming in Cleveland.
