RIP to all of the passengers and crew members. I was at Changi airport Singapore, waiting for my relatives. I saw some people who were waiting for flight 8501, they were confused about the status of the flight displayed on the monitor. Then the Air Asia crew at the airport told them to go to the Air Asia desk for more information (they put up a sign). That was the moment when we all realized that something terrible must have had happened. It's heartbreaking to see the reaction of the family and friends there.
Press f to pay respect :( 😭😭
That’s sad
God bless you

Bad solder connection in the rudder control system. Repeat maintenance discrepancy which was not handled correctly, Pilot incorrect maintenance action in-flight, pilot error in controlling the aircraft, Nothing to do with weather. Read the official report.
sounds rational--this is every air traveler's nightmare
Does that mean 737 is better than a320??

Lol thought I was the only one thinking that
@@studentuser101 Poor maintenance, poor in flight maintenance, pilot error,, and miscommunication were the contributing factors causes. The captain said pull down, the first officer understood that as pull the stick back. The first officer was pitching up, the captain was pitching down. With the inputs fighting each other, the stall wasn't recovered from

Just before the plane impacts the water, you can tell the whole plane is deleted when it makes contact. It just vanishes.

Idiots never heard about flying below radar
Action Potential they mean in the video when the plane hits the water at the end, not on the air traffic map thing
Now this is why we don't nosedive unless u can't stop it
1:53 Captain..... your problem isn't altitude at that exact moment. Its the fact you're doing only 10 knots.
Also, the NTSC report stated that the master caution went off 3 times beforehand in the flight, with the pilots following the ECAMS(the blue text) each time. On the 4th time, the captain left his seat and reset the FAC circuit breaker - basically killed most of the flight control systems in 1 go, and the stall and bank angle protectors - don't do this. ever. They weren't able to recover from the stall because the PIC said to the FO to "Pull down", the FO interpreted it as pull up. The PIC tried to override it, but they cancelled each other out.
And this is why we follow the ECAM memos, and we make sure pilots are trained in Low-speed awareness scenarios.
awesome response!
Finally a comment explaining the "Why". Thank you!
Okay, even though i don't understand your explanation, i see this is human error (the pilot) not a system fault.
How can a pilot with more than 20.000 hours in the air makes that kind of error?
Melodica It is human error. First, they didn’t handle the situation correctly via proper protocol as the ECAM and the QRH says. They used the circuit breakers. I believe they shut down FACs entirely with the circuit breakers, basically cutting off power to them. It was because the faulty rudder trim warning on the ECAM was popping up multiple times, well after they reset the FAC computers. You never ever do this in flight. It is there for overcurrent protection as well as to minimize smoke and fire in an absolute emergency.
@@jimmyehlschlaeger3624 That has been a common problem. Pilots messing with circuit breakers to stop alarms. One of the contributing factors was poor maintenance, resulting in the rudder trim alarm going off multiple times. There was also miscommunication and the first officer was pitching up while the captain was pitching down. Therefore, the captain was unable to perform the stall recovery, something every pilot knows how to do.
So tragic. My deepest sympathy to the family and friends who lost their lives🕊
This is one of so many catastrophes, where overly complex planes overwhelm the pilots. They are more of a plane operators than pilots. If something goes wrong they forget the basics of flight, like in this scenario.
The reason why they don't tell you what caused it is because these are meant to be teasers to get you to watch the full episode on their channel. It's really not that hard to understand guys...
I was at tanker ship going from Singapore to Jakarta when this was announced on the VHF. We were around 130-150nm away from that area. It was really scary. Captain said "pull down" F/O pulled the sidestick! 😞

The non coupled side sticks are a huge problem, and pilots not understanding this along with alternate law of computer which allows aircraft to stall. Just like AF447.
Those are secondary problems that made this a fatal crash and not just an incident. The bad solder should've been repaired long before this since it was there for over a year and repeatedly sent warnings to the pilots of the plane even on that flight alone. More importantly, whatever training the captain had wasn't enough to stop him from ignoring the computer and resetting a circuit breaker he had no business touching after having followed the proper instructions 3 times. The crux of the issue is that he didn't follow protocol, and the biggest issue with how the cockpit crew handled the plane post-reset was that the first officer misunderstood the captain, and that the captain failed to assess whether he was following his instructions (or take over control himself).
yes i see low is low to 0 kmh and altudute is down fast
@@GintaPPE1000 did you just contradict yourself? You said it's secondary issue and yet you go on to say it's one the main cause? They called these things a chain of events every failure is important there's no primary or secondary failure.
Also you forgot to mention that the reason they can't communicate properly was because they were communicating in English which neither pilot speak as their mother tounge resulting in confusion and communication failure.
Yes thank you!!

Duka mendalam untuk korban air Asia from Indonesian 🙏
The fact that these types of videos are scarily addictive. Pls help, I’m scared of flying now.
I'm still of the view that the Airbus Cockpit (side stick) design is a huge contributing factor to both QZ 8501 and Air France flight 447... In both cases the first officers applied incorrect inputs which caused the aircrafts to ultimately crash, the captain had/ have no way of knowing what inputs the first officers are applying to the control surfaces of the aircraft. I'm of a strong belief that if the captains of both QZ 8501 and AAF 447 had a way of visually seeing that the officers were applying wrong inputs, both crashes could have been diverted...
I love how the captain screams but does nothing
RIP to all passengers, cabin crew and the pilot 😢
The crew were true hero’s they fought so hard to save there plane and save the lives of everyone on board rip 😢😢❤️❤️
The crew is the reason the plane crashed and everyone died
@@bletrick3352 In the blackbox recorder, it was shown that there was a computer control system error making the plane tries to correct itself in a glitchy way which causes the plane to tilt.

YES FINALLY AN EPISODE ON THIS
THEY SHOULD DO MH370
In December 2015, the Indonesian National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT or NTSC) released a report concluding that a non-critical malfunction in the rudder control system prompted the captain to perform a non-standard reset of the on-board flight control computers. Control of the aircraft was subsequently lost, resulting in a stall and uncontrolled descent into the sea. Miscommunication between the two pilots was cited as a contributing factor.
That is what happened to Indonesia AirAsia Flight 8501

Now you know, if the plane starts flying really slowly and keeps pitching up, start yelling nose down.
the mistake is when the pilot says “pull down” it should be “push down” in order to get the nose down from stalling

Ada yg lepas tahu khbar sriwijaya air???
Honestly never realised *just* how many commercial plane crashes there really were!
And the huge disparity that this show portrays between the very *high non-survival* rates and the very *few actual survival* rates in these crashes.
You have a low chance of being in one. Let me just say in the 1983 - 1997 and 2004 - 2011 periods, there were a LOT of crashes. However, planes are safer now and your more likely to die in a severe car crash than a plane crash. Also, the only crashes you hear about are small Cessna crashes where the pilot does not know what he is doing. Since planes are so advanced right now, most crashes are by faulty crew, not the plane.
But yeah I didn’t realize how many either. And like I said, most took place in 1983 - 1997 and 2003 - 2011
Also, the last major one that was plane fault was AirAsia 8501, aka the one we watching now.
Im watchin this exactly 2 years after its release

Making it the most deadliest crash that year.
MH17:Am I a joke too you?

He talking about 2014, not the other years. The most deadliest air disaster in 2014 is MH17, it has more deaths than other air disasters that took place in 2014.
@@sonikkuzahejjihoggu535 but mh370
@@timmy4898 MH370 is a second deadliest air disaster of 2014, it killed 239 people on board. The crash MH17 killed 298 people on board. So MH17 is the most deadliest air disaster of 2014, since it has more deaths than MH370.
