Oh
What caused the crash of Lion Air Flight 610?
The plane they were flying was Boeing 737-8 MAX, and this plane had a problem. You see, during takeoffs, the nose would point too high. And instead of re-engineering the plane, Boeing decided to install software that would push the nose back down. But in the case of Flight 610, this software malfunctioned that it caused the pitch downs.

@@gumpreeengthegumpreeeng Airbus didn’t do the same thing. The A320 has enough ground clearance to fit the new engines normally while the 737 does not which is why they had to move the new engines forward and up on the 737s wings for the MAX. This caused the nose to pitch up under power a lot more which is why MCAS was implemented. The reason is not the pilot error, but the Boeing plane itself is defective from the factory
After this happened airports had ground based Doppler radar installed & planes had forward looking Doppler radar units installed in their nose cones to detect Microbursts.
for those who want to know the reason why it crashed, it was pilot error, boeing had installed a software that pushed the nose down if it was pointing up too much but this software malfunctioned which caused the plane's nose to keep dipping and unfortunately crash

Love this show!
Just finished reading a book about this. As with most disasters there are other contributing factors. The big one here was that Boeing installed MCAS only on planes where it was purchased as "optional" equipment. That didn't mean anything because there was no training on it, and even in the manual MCAS appears in the glossary at the end but there is no mention of it anywhere in the material. What good is that? Also, they went into CYA mode by suggesting that as the pilots in both crashes were considered "third world" they crashed because they weren't as good as those from the US of A, who would have recognized and solved the problem immediately. Ya, right.
Plane: **falling into the ocean**
That one guy: It’s okay
For the record, Capt. Suneja literally said that on the CVR.
I think after this incident everyone should have just started to avoid boeing altogether for a while just to teach them a lesson about life
This would be a good time for Lockheed to come back and make the L1012. Lets not forget how much we adore the L1011 in hindsight. One of the few times where they took extra time to give better and extra features instead of rushing development.
Sadly if the flight is a boeing plane,u gotta take it man
And it cant be a 737
The nose boeing installed made the plane go down because of a malfunction of the nose
This is why I never using lion air again, the sound of the engine is rough in there

the emoji in the tittle got me lol
I know why it happened.
Boings new 737max had an engine maneuver up the wing so it kept steeply piching nose up and they also needed minimum training so as the result as the nose up steeply ment that boing had to make a sensor to pich nose down so that it woldnt stall.
The pilots weren't aware of the sencor.
It did not push the plane into a steep dive but in this case sanario it did because again the pilots weren't aware of it.
Also pay respects to all of the people who died in the accident 😔 😔😟😭🙁
That’s correct. The system they implemented called MCAS was a huge problem but Boeing never put it in the manual book (as a major software equipment) all of this happened bc Boeing just wanted more money and wanted to compete with airbus instead of raising concerns abt passenger and plane safety
