Imagine complaining about your ups package being late and then seeing that on the news
@gamer buster oops
@gamer buster what did the email say? Was it like "your package fell from the sky during the shipping"
gamer buster lol rip
@gamer buster proof
@@jorgedeane3054 how did we got the proof lmao
The wreckage of the cockpit made it look like both the pilots survived but unfortunately it didn't happen.
Do we know why I’ve always wondered why they didn’t since the cockpit looks fine
Maybe it was blunt force trauma even through the cockpit separated or smoke inhalation 🤷♀️
@@samdubois9893 yea I could see g forces/blunt force trauma being the reason
it looks like G force from the impact was so severe for human body to handle, you can see at 3:39 the rear of cockpit was badly buckle so the entire nose and cockpit bend to left side , my condolences for both pilots
They were instantly killed. They didn't show us pictures from inside the cockpit. COMPLETELY smashed
Ever thought of changing that outro to its darker here?
Yes🗿🗿🗿😂
"It's *brighter* here" is the moto of Smithsonian channel
Don't ever change it
LOL 😂
Change it
Crash was prolonged and VERY violent. RIP UPS Heavy!
I did the environmental cleanup on this crash, and that reenactment was amazingly accurate, there was a little more cart-rolling but very good.
WHAT THE PILOTS WERE LOOKING LIKE AFTER THIS HAPPENED MAY I ASK
Yeah, what DID the pilots look like?
@@martin_ish3re They had been removed before I arrived. I heard different stories, one was that they were ejected and way over away from us, but in the years since and talking to other people, I think I am certain they were found in cockpit section we had to work around.
R.I.P both pilots
“Hey, why didn’t we get our package yesterday?”
* checks news *
*”oh no”*
Going into BHM they always left us high and slam dunked us. This happened consistently to us and when this accident happened I felt that was part of this crews unstabilized approach. The captain also failed a checkride due to poor no precision approach performance.
Well the new UPS A300 cockpits hopefully will reduce incidents like this. The flight director screen is massive.
To fly, a thousand things have to go right
To crash, only one thing has to go wrong
In general, this is not true. Most aviation accident causes follow a swiss chess model, where many holes from many slices have to line up exactly right for the crash to happen.
@@agentm10 US Airways flight 1549 just one thing went wrong, bird strike...
@@blakjack3053 and there is only one metal in the periodic table that is liquid in room temp and pressure. What's your point? Please study aviation accident reports to see why your first statement is philosophically and practically a dangerous one.
@@agentm10 lmao yeah whatever pal
@@blakjack3053 ditto!
It’s been 10 years, Shanda. We haven’t forgotten.
My daddy was the captain of this flight, I miss him so much. This should have never happened.
@proverbs31woman31 what was his Gems number?
@@proverbs31woman31 sorry for your loved one loss, may he rest in peace 🙏
I now work as a ramp agent at BHM and ive heard the stories of it, im still very nervous around planes and always keep an eye on arriving and departing flights
Really sad, i hope something like this will never happen again.
Yes 👍🏾
Agree
Thats an illusion, crashes like this or worse will always happen from time to time
Since the accident, UPS has made improvements. They now have sleep rooms for the pilots so they can nap and catch up on sleep while the cargo is sorted
it defo will tho
2:32
The way she says "Oh my god!" is very heartbreaking, I almost fainted.

they really need to change that outro

2:26 that airliner came perilously close to hitting a truck
Not just any truck... An oil carrier by the looks of it
I don’t see anything
@@thedragonsnortchannel2609 If the plane hit that tho…
@@AirportPlaneSpotting Then all hell would've broken loose in Alabama
You got the time stamp wrong
I honestly did not know Birmingham had an airport, or that UPS flew planes from my hometown to there.
Yeah Birmingham has had an airport since around WW2 or earlier
I know it’s Alabama but Birmingham is a pretty major city. Pittsburg is considered the Birmingham of the North.
It's from 2013 btw...
It's a very small international Airport that's been around longer than most of us have been alive
Narrator: "tragiclly both pilots are killed"
Outro:💃🕺
lmaoo
bro like stop it. you are like disrespecting those people that died.
I should not be laughing at this 🤣😂😂😂
Wow! What a original comment!
@@ashedits456 how would it be disrespect when the outro of Smithsonian says, "it's brighter here" with happy music playing?
a cheap $800 GPS mounted on the dash could have saved them. thanks FAA for not allowing it, im sure you know whats best
The lesson here is don't try and salvage a bad approach, go around and set it up again. Getting behind the airplane in instrument meteorological conditions (in the clouds) is a recipe for disaster. Very tragic.
New to this channel and these type of Simulations....Really Like them a lot...These Vids also show the crash unlike some other Simulation channels...Thanks for this Channel
There are two shows I used to watch all the time as a kid after school: "Dogfights", and "Air Crash Investigation". The former has the same CGI creations, as they analysis historical air battles and each plane's manoeuvres. The latter is, well, what's in this video. Both of them are fantastic watches, even if their visual effects are painfully outdated by today's standards. That all being said, I believe they're restarting Air Crash Investigation!
Imagine being that truck driver and the plane just goes yeet over the truck like 1 feat above you
I would’ve had a heart attack.
How do I watch the Full Video on this please ?
I love the reconstruction.
I would hate to be working the OD&D desk that day!
I feel like the actors weren't as good in this one compared to other episodes.
Wdym
That's because both the pilots shown in this were fatigued.
I thougt it was good but mkay :)
That omg voice lmao
I mean its good enough
it was a false reading by the autopilot showing on the screen their altitude so the pilots manually descend the plane not knowing how close they already were im not blaming airbus for this mistake it was a malfunction
its a boeing plane not airbus.
It’s Boeing
@@pankajkushwaha2288 No it's Airbus A300. You can tell by cockpit windows that it's an Airbus aircraft.
@@siddhantiyer3037 0:22 the narrator says its a new Airbus A300
@@siddhantiyer3037 its airbus a300 as said early on the video
Why the hell didnt the warning system kick in a lot earlier, saying they are too low...
It began nano secs before the first treetop was hit... And where was ATC???
I don’t why I keep watching there some interesting about solving plane crashes
"Did we hit something?"
He actually said that in the CVR..
DUDE YOU ARE HITTING SOMETHING
R.I.P To these 2 Pilots from the UPS 1354 Crash. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
My understanding is when something says the landing is dangerouse if you have the ability to safely stay in the air you immediately abort the landing.
This narattor is dope
He also does I almost got away with it.
I was working at that UPS airport in Louisville the day that happened
Really, what happened?
That’s really sad cries
Back to the *Its brighter here* outro i see.
"Tragically, neither pilot survived"
Smithsonian It's brighter here!
Damn. My IR modified camera is coming in from New Jersey on one of those things. And all I thought I’d have to worry about are the porch pirates....
How do I get the full episode?
2:10 I'm sorry but that “OH NO” 😂
2:25 geez drivers must've been in for a show on the road below the plane there.
I cannot believe that they didn't survive! R.I.P all to them
I wonder what would a driver think of a airbus 300 10meters above their head
everyone knows how ups delivers
This is very good channel
I did not like playing since I watch videos like this😭😭😭
Yet the packages were still delivered on time.
Yeah, sadly the fragile ones didn't make it.
This is why my ups packages are always late
3:43 music title?
Full video please
That first officer....damn son ♥
Plane is going down
Smithson can keep the 💃 outro in their main channel but in the aviation one keep it dark 🖤
If the rate of decent was slower and if it wasn’t tilted it might have had at least a higher chance of surviving the impact
I'm from KY and Louisville is right down the road
Fireman: get that fire out! I’ve got 3 packages on this plane!
There goes my express packages up in flames
You can always get a replacement.
''oh no''
Said calmly
2:23 POV: You are eating at a road restaurant and a plane casualy pass up to close of the ground
Where’s the rest of the story?
thats where my box is
Awww man!
The fact that the impact looked very simillar to flight 6
I agree
How is that possible
This episode just aired and I am shocked that the plane had two runways activated at the same time without warning. We started to land on two runways at the same time and the plane was like "ok". The signals should have screamed loudly that something is wrong.
plane was preparing saws to cut in half for landing?
The cameraman really catching eveythings
What did the plane show a faulty altitude reading ?
I don't know how I ran across this video but this happened by my house this was so sad to see them laying out there dead so 😢 sad I moved....
Rip pliots
Average day at UPS:
oh no
I think this plane flew right over Bowling Green ky cause of the flight path
I remember this crash as some of my parcels where on that doomed flight.
R.I.P to the crew who died on that tragic day
I saw photos inside the cockpit after the crash when I worked for the city, not pretty
Ohhhh this is a re-badged version of Mayday ! They really upgraded their software. It even looks better than MS Flight 2020 !
Oh Gooooddd........sorry time's up.
Where's my package?
I guess United Problem Solvers (UPS couldn't figure out why they were crashing.
MORE LIKE UNDER PRESSURE TO SURVIVE THE TO IS SILENT THOUGH
new a300 yay
Why dont cockpits have airbags
They might help in such crashes where the front part detaches
no, plane is not a car. if the engineers thought it was a good idea they wouldve been had airbags in the cockpit
Because seat belt is Mandatory..
And it's double seat belt
@@draco2xx NOT A CAR THEN WHY SEATBELTS THEN EXPLAIN THAT EINSTEIN DISTANT RELATIVE SINCE YOU KNOW SO MUCH
when I first saw pictures of the front I thought both pilots survived
First time seeing an airbus crash on this channel 😂
imagine not getting your package that cost 1k
The plane was new he was like unbelievable to high programs was bad and it crashed near a village
why will there be a grove one mile off the airport?
The captain was going through tunnel vision.
This and they were probably tired as well.
Do you have ups 747 because they have that
The autopilot Trying to save them
2:25 fuel truck saw the plane so low to the ground
He has pilot alot got alot of lives
Your vids I rate 9000/9000
We may never know what happened. Oh well....
When the female pilot heard Notice to airmen she was like 👁👄👁
That cockpit looked survivable. How did the die?
Maybe from having their heads thrown into the controls
Have you ever been in a car wreck of anykind, even with minor damage and low speeds like 30mph; you could experience back and neck pain for days or weeks after. Now imagine sitting in an aluminum tube as it crashes at speeds of 100+ mph, look at all the damage to the front end of the plane.. blunt force trauma will certainly kill you in a crash like this even if the plane is somewhat intact.
How many packages can you lose???
457
RIP to the pilots of flight 1354 but also flight 6
its the 😧 for me
So basically what happened here the captain asked for another route and it was granted but the first pilot she never really updated the system that now they are landing on another run way not the one already programmed by the system. So now the fight system is confused hence it kept on saying too high.
SOUND PLAUSIBLE
The co-pilot never read out the altitudes to the pilot as they were descending. It’s as if the co-pilot was asleep and the pilot was trying to figure it all out for himself. He almost made it too. Sad.
yes yes
It shocks me how those pilots failed to notice their altitude before it was too late…. They should’ve been AWARE of THAT!!!
The computer gave them an incorrect altitude and they assumed they were higher than they were
