  • Best Bucket Hat Ever Crochet Tutorial / It is Finally "Soon" 😉
It's finally here! I have been wearing this bucket hat in many of my recent videos, and soooo MANY of you have asked me when it is coming out.
I have told all of you "soon".
Well, it is "SOON" today - it is finally here!
Cute, easy to make, perfect for a long-time crocheter and easy enough for the beginner. What a cool hat!
VERY beginner friendly and super fun to make.
You really only need to know Single Crochets and a Magic Circle (Magic Ring) to make it - but I show you the easy way to do that as well! Right here:
    • Help! How Do I Crochet...
    *************
At round 11 (72 stitches) your circle should have a diameter of approx 4.5-5 inches.
At round 16 (100 stitches), your diameter should be about 6.5 inches.
    *************
Ciao friends! If you are so inclined, you can now buy me a coffee. It really helps the channel, and I could use the caffeine, so thanks! 😉 www.buymeacoffee.com/ThimbleH...

That’s correct. It works. Row 16s pattern is 23 sc, sc inc (repeat) because we only need to increase four stitches. They’re spread out around the hat on four equal places making the stitch count 100.

I am not really sure Muriel as I never design anything for a man. Perhaps go up one hook size...?

It depends on the man, but I’m using a D hook (3.25mm) and it’s going to fit.

It came out too big for my head because I don’t have any hair! 😑. Imma have to drop down to like a B hook. 🤔

I did everything you said right and used a 3mm hook with a medium weight yarn and it’s so small it can’t even fit over my head. I’m so disappointed I did everything exactly the same and it’s child sized

That sounds like a tension issue to me. I have made dozens of these, and as you can see in the video, it fits a grown woman just fine. I have never had anyone tell me that theirs turned out to small, but I did have someone once tell me that it fit her husband it was so big. Just need to adjust your tension Beth

@@ThimbleHooks I’m still fairly new to crocheting (about 6 months practice) and I’m not great at adjusting tension. Would you recommend sizing up to a 3.5mm hook if I can’t adjust my tension correctly? Thank you for responding

      @ThimbleHooks  9 месяцев назад

Hi! Practice this to verify/adjust your tension: At round 11 (72 stitches) your circle should have a diameter of approx 4.5-5 inches.
At round 16 (100 stitches), your diameter should be about 6.5 inches.
Work towards that, and it will be right on.
The 3 1/2 mm might help, but you will need to practice with that as well.
      Hope that helps! Bethany

I'll have to look into those Phyllis. I don't have a pattern for either, but that doesn't mean much...! 😃
