@@ariella2658 Same thing happened to me as well. It's either the size of the yarn or hook I think. I reduced one row. According to the size chart mine was medium. But since it is big now, I'm following the S pattern and frogged on row. Now it fits well

I use a 4 or 3 weight size yarn and it works even if its single strand if you yarn under instead of yarn over. It keeps it's shape. Yarn under eill always make the stitches tighter and hold shape better

I Love this Pattern! Question: For the Brim: Do you end each Row with 2 HDC… then slip stitch?

I was wondering if when doing the sides is it possible to use double crochet instead of HDC? To make it build faster? Also- I am very new to this and this is my first hat (thank you for the very in depth and patient tutorial!!). Is there any way to fix a hole about the size of a quarter where my magic circle didn’t close completely?
Yes you can absolutely use Dc for the side!!! the fabric there will be abit softer but that can be nice too ❤️
About the hole, you can thread the end/tail into the stitches of the first row with yarn needle, pull it all the way to close the hole, then you can fasten it with a knot and weave it in🧶

Hi! I'm just getting back to crocheting after many years, and I was nervous about catching on again. I watched several videos, and I was frustrated with not understanding or the person going too fast. Your tutorial is perfect, and I can use if for so many hats, and change things as I want. I have one question, and I know it's ridiculous, but again it's been awhile for me. I don't understand how many rows are to be done on the brim. I've done the sides, and was about to do the rim, but it seemed as if you only did one row, but I know I'm not understanding correctly. Thank you!

In this pattern, we'll do 3 rows for the brim you can see the written pattern for this at 20:55 (of course you can always do more by following the rules of increasing 6 stitches on each row)

I am so excited to start this project! However, I'm having trouble finding the correct weight of yarn. The Bulky #5 is too bulky! Could I just use a larger hook?
If you prefer thinner yarn, you can go with #4 Aran together with 5 or 5.5mm hook 💕! And if you want to use #5 with a bigger hook, you might need to consider a down size 💫

Ok so I know you said double strand... but I double stranded my double strand sooooo now I have 6 strands 😂 my bucket hat is a monstrosity!!!
10/10 would probably get carpal tunnel from this but also 11/10 would do it again
Hii💞 so, we double strand if it's DK yarn or maybe aran yarn. If it's chunky yarn or bigger then definitely have to go with single 🧶

Tysm 💕It isn't 100% cotton (I believe it's about 60% cotton and 40% Acrylic)🧶. If you can not find bulk or super bulky yarn, you can double-stranded Dk or Arab yarn (No.3 or No.4) which is the easiest yarn to find 😉
And it’ll take about 150-200meters of yarn✨
