    Love the display of irony in the T-Shirt Ian wore in the Roses haha! ‘Burn Money’ by Paul Smith I think? What a statement haha, display it to the world. Character and a half, superb.

    @easyman182 bollocks..ian solely wrote i wanna be adored and i am the resurrection..and co wrote the album..squire did write most of the second album..but its the first all that gets all the credit..the second album is underated and is great..but give ian some credit if it wasnt for some of those songs at the time 1989 guitar music was dissapearing..so ian is up there with the best in my eyes...

    His individual works may not stand up so well buy the Stone Roses will. They had an impact similar to the Byrds or Bob Dylan; thats how big an impact The Stone Roses had on British Rock. He heavily contributed to the Stone Roses, not to mention all the bands that came after them that wouldn't have had the impact they had if it weren't for the Stone Roses.

    @easyman182 cool..but if squire was that much a genius..why was the seahorses and his solo stuff very poor and normal at best....i guess ian was missing..i do get what you are saying..but they are a partnership that should never be forgot...

    I'm not sure what you're talking about. I don't "NEED" people to tell me anything about music. I'm saying that I don't see what the fuss is about. They were innovative and influential but as far as making music that makes an emotional impact, they never did it for me. Odds are you've been unable to appreciate the hype about something as well so I'm not sure what's so "lol" funny about what I said. But I'm glad to have made your day. Oh and yes, I "seriously" meant that F.E.A.R is pretentious.

    @hoppybhoy71 I do give ian credit man, hes a great frontman, singer and hes cool as fuck. But no way would I call him a genius or godlike. I wanna be adored is a great song but the lyrics are not great, there is two lines the whole song! Id call john squire a genius before I call ian one...

  • @easyman182
    @easyman182 14 лет назад +1

    John squire wrote most of the lyrics and wrote all of the riffs and mani was a great bass player...Ian was just the singer and he dont write most of the lyrics on his solo albums either. I love Ian, hes cool, but Genius or Godlike...Nah, No way..

    • @harrypey6092
      @harrypey6092 7 лет назад +3

      You're deluded. Ian wrote lots of the lyrics on the first album and his solo shit is out of this fucking world. He deserves it. Listen to the lyrics on his solo album - they a fucking genius.

  • @cwbellor
    @cwbellor 15 лет назад

    Stone Roses were cool ...huge influence on Oasis, BRMC, etc. but the music itself isn't as amazing as people say. As for Ian Brown, love his solo stuff but F.E.A.R is the most pretentious song've ever heard.

  • @krzysiok
    @krzysiok 12 лет назад +2

    Don't get me wrong I really like Ian Brown, but Godlike genious? Are You serious?Brown released a fewinteresting solo albums.The Stone Roses debut album was very good. But let's face the truth, who do they inspired apart from a bunch of indie/britpopbands in the UK in the 90s, most of which were mediocre.The NME magazine and their awards are laughable. They've always been biasing a certain kind of music and ignore other, sometimes more important genres and styles.
