I was at that gig in Preston that he mentioned. Absolutely amazing! Came on to his trumpet player doing the theme from the godfather and from then on not a foot wrong.
You’re dead right. Bathing is spot on. I’m in full-on immersion at the moment. Deliberately not rushing through. There are whole albums I’ve chosen not to hear yet. Music of the spheres was new to me, such a Revelation. Shadow of a saint grabbed me by the spirit & just won’t let me go, I’m happy to bathe in that. It’s just ineffable, truly a religious experience for me.
Very humble guy, what a music legend. I still play The Stone Roses album to this day, it's still fresh, revelevant and hasn't dated one bit, it's a piece of musical art, the tracks combined work together so well, it's an album you can really chill out to in a relaxing place, headphones on and your fav drink, listen to it from start to finish, incredible!😎👍
I like that he’s “in love with the process”. Passion for a subject, especially something truly difficult, is attractive, even intoxicating. Blessed are we, just coming to the man’s cannon of work. Been swimming in Shadow of a saint for the last 24 hours. That track is helping me navigate the hardest times of my life. Thank you, Mr Brown.
King Monkey! His vocal performances can be a bit hit and miss - but he carries himself with such swagger, is such a showman and has such great tunes - shame the Roses will never get together again - but his solo stuff is still all class. Browny is the man.
yeah definitely maybe, stone roses, my generation, never mind the bollocks. greatest albums of all time(throw in revolver for that one), let alone greatest debut albums
@boliboy2299 No, it's mainly to do with Viking and Norse influence in the North, and then the North West which is where Ian is from blending with Gaelic (Irish) language traits. The South's mainly anglo saxon language influence. Boring stuff. Anyway that comment Ian makes about Gladstone Small cracked me up. x
What are you all on about!!!!!????? The roses ARE bigger by miles than oasis.....who was the best drummer? mccarrol, white or reni, needs no answer. who was the best guitarist?gallagher, bonehead or squire, needs no answer. whos songs were and are more influential?oasis or the roses, needs no answer.think about it.
"out the sunshine hear in scotland"...whats that suppose to mean eh!! lol, ian brown is soo fukn cool anyways, was way cooler in the roses but the roses were the coolest ever so you cant complain xx
Mirrorkissers He went to a Grammar school and studied politics at college. He likes to portray he's from the street whereas he's from leafy Timperley. Good music though, all the other stuff is irrelevant for me?
@@bascet1 yes, I noticed on “A brush with class”, Ian Brown commented on the neglect he saw in kids in court. It struck me he hadn’t experienced that. I’m glad he hadn’t. Neglect leaves marks on a person. My upbringing was reasonably affluent, but we were neglected. You notice it in others, even now, late in life, when my appearances are affluent. But nothing changes inside.
I used to know Ian Brown before he got famous. The thick Mancunian accent is a put on and the crappy intellectualising he does about almost everything (lose the marijuana, Ian) makes him appear to be the prick that he isn't (he is in fact a really gentle, warm hearted bloke) - but if he thinks this 'act' will keep bringing him the greens in, I guess he should carry on with it. But for me, the posturing, the fake accent and the wiggerism takes a lot away from the great bloke he has hidden away.
I agree with longbow. If Ian Brown is a 'fantastic' songwriter, and has a terrible voice, as you said spoosh66, why isn't he writing songs for shitey manufactured bands? I saw one song he did at T this year, (which i'm currently looking for) where he sang into the mic like a dj (like the microphone can't hear him an inch away, he needs to keep it touching his mouth), so all you hear is a vague, scummy Manchester accent mumbling into a microphone. NOT JUST THAT, he's out of tune as well.
Wrong . The reason oasis are bigger is that they have sold 50 million albums and the roses sold about one million. However I much prefer the roses music and Ian is a great performer but a shit singer. I have seen live and he was shit, but i still liked the show. V 1998!
You get all ages watching you because your music is incredible and music like that never dies.
The Stone Roses , what a band and then some.

lol, gladestone small.
For a guy who can barely string a sentence together, strangely he writes pretty good lyrics.

People change mate, your not going to stay the same as your 18 year old self
Maybe that’s the persona he is happiest presenting to the world? He’s not obligated to be himself as if at home when he’s “being Ian Brown”.
oasis arent fit to lick the shit off the roses boots.
