I use this all the time but implementing different trans timings, echo delays and a bit of reverb, so that it doesn't sound monotonic on the scratching part
I do it with both hands, activate trans to 1/4 then use your left hand 1st to go forward, then the right to come back. It looks and sounds great. You can vary it or cross hands, looks awesome. Love your content bro. I could show you a great trick using 1/2 & 1'4 beats on slip loop. On the 4th bar alternate between the 1/2 & 1/4just before the drop. You get a really cool drumming build up sound. I discovered it by accident but I don't see any other DJ's doing it. It's super effective. You can do it for 4 or 8 beats. I can send you an example if you like. Be my pleasure.
@@djcarlo I just activate trans then spin it about using both hands, crossing them, you can achieve a great effect. You hear the trans effect but because you are spinning both hands back and fourth it changes pitch depending on how fast or slow you do it. All you are doing is activating a 1/4 trans effect over a beat and spinning it left and right instead of forward & back. It's more of a visual trick, it's not that hard. I usually set a loop while I do it, I scratch but keep that for the end, then loop out and mix on phrase.
I used the exact same free glitch effect you're using and it's driving me up the wall. Please consider adding some variety to your cuts. It's like a dj transition. You wouldn't use one style of transition for an entire set, but you're using a single one for your channel

That's why I usually call it a "hack" haha. I know I call it an impossible scratch here, but it cant replace a real transform scratch. Still, it's fun to mess around with this thing
It's a technicality, and i even mentioned in the main video a disclaimer that it's more of a technique than a scratch. But, it's used by some crazy turntablists out there, and it's legitimately one of the most interesting techniques I've seen

That works! So happy to hear when folks find their own footing on the methods I teach here! 🤩
Backspin with TRANS-Effect on a very short loop hits diffrent 😉
It does! The sound it makes is intense!
😂
Bro you know the secret 🤫
Thank you for the tip Carlo! Gonna try it out right now
Enjoy buddy! I'm sure you'll have a blast
I will do this on my head.😂
Make it a reality too someday!

That's pretty intetesting! Though, once you do that, how do you get to the next song, since both decks are being used? 😲

Youre gonna have a ton of fun, I guarantee you haha

Wow ❤ best dj teacher ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much! Hope you learned something new from this little video
@@djcarlo definitely
thanks to the idea I installed the TWN-TRANS effect on vdj, more power sir carlo
Enjoy it!
you don’t need to install any effects, it is literally just the “Cut” effect
Dang bro that’s crazy
It was a fun discovery! I do it sometimes to mess with the audience haha
James Zabiela Style!
Indeed! I love how there are so many ways to play around with the music 🥳
@@djcarlo ♥
You’re the boss Carlo
Thanks buddy! Hope you're learning things from the channel 🥳
Wait... how can u do it if its impossible? 😮😮😮 ❤🎉
Hahahaha, I like defying gravity on the decks hehe
Eddie Halliwell was the master of this
Indeed! Gaming the system with technological magic is a ton of fun haha

I have multiple ones on the channel in different videos. I happen to like the glitch one
That's lit ngl
Right? It's such a fun little technique!
sweet🔥🔥
Thanks! Did you get to try it?
or you can just use smart cfx noise chopper on the flx4
True! But not everyone has an FLX 4, or has Smart FX on Rekordbox
I know, but its easier for the people using flx4 to use smart cfx, hope i could help!!
I have the flx4 can you explain in a little more detail on how to do this with the smart cfx

I can't find that in Traktor!
It should be the gate FX! it's one of the ones you can assign to the four color fx
What Beefshake said! Try it out
Espectacular😮.....not for the old school people...😂...thx for the tip!!! Great!!
Can I do this with my Rane One?
Hmmm, good question. It should be doable, but it might get tricky with the motorized jog wheels on
Bro learn real scratch
This came from a tutorial detailing how to baby and chirp scratch. That's something that should be checked out!
bro u have rane one😂😂😂
Is it the Same DJ Jazzy Jeff does ?
Nope! He goes by transform scratching, though he may have or may not have used this. I wouldn't know haha
“Ahh scratch sample” hahaha
I still found it so entertaining that I found out how to do this hahaha
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
🥳🥳🥳
This may as well had been in Latin 😖
Hahahaha, that's the first time I've had a comment like that! 😆
Mix hit flip skip to next test make break state chase race pace say something fire idmire b 👀 achieve read believe
Achieve and believe!! I like that
can I apply this on virtual dj
The trans effect is just called “cut”
It’s on the beat fx
I'm unfamiliar with VDJs settings, but im sure you can!
That's not a scratch that's an effect 😂
If all you controller djs think this is how you scratch you need educating!
That's why I usually call it a "hack" haha. I know I call it an impossible scratch here, but it cant replace a real transform scratch. Still, it's fun to mess around with this thing
Disrespect for djs who scratch this way and do not want to waste time learning a proper scratch technique
Some of us scratch nerds like doing both though. We just like having fun sometimes
I figured I have to do this on my own and it is so cool
Thats awesome! And it's fun, isn't it?
apprends a scratcher narvalo
I actually do. Quite well. This is just me having stupid good fun with digital FX
the fact you call this a scratch is rotten

What controller is it?
DDJ FLX4
@@dj_cletus ty buddy!
That's the one!
I selected trans and my serato deleted itself?
That shouldn't happen! Try reinstalling it. Were you running the latest version?
oof
don’t know if you got the right audience for that lmao
