One thing to add on eq'ing is that it's really something you can feel out in the moment. Instead of following a procedure every transition which will get repetitive, just get good intuition of how a mix responds when you eq and allow yourself to be creative every time

I don’t understand, at the beginning of the video you said the “pros” mix by slightly lowering the current songs low end, while gradually bringing in the next song with the low end at neutral position. Then later in the video you completely contradicted that by bringing in the next song with the low end all the way down. Do you just do this to mix it up? Can you explain?
Most Pros use the first method and that goes for DJs who DJ Hip Hop, Top 40, House, etc. The second part is a specialized way House DJs mix using all their EQs :)
@@djcarlo I haven't used a cdj yet, it seems very intimidating. Especially with using ddj 400, the stacked waveforms is easier to hit the cue points and beatmatch. Mainly this two points itself. You can even do a yt short on how to practice for the waveform difference in both the controllers
Ah, well, the cue points you can fix up using Rekordbox, or other similar programs. But with the wave forms, try beatmatching without looking at them. You can check my How To Beatmatch video to learn more about just beatmatching by ear
I've realized that if you select correctly your songs the blends apear to your mind magically and more often than not you don't need to do crazy stuff to make it sound really nice. This super complex mixing techniques are not as useful as they seem because each song has what i would call a "blending vibe" as if the song were whispering "hey, this is the path". And almost always isn't that complex. You know, at the end this is art, not a sport, DJing is not a competition to see who can make the hardest transition but a performance to enjoy the best sensitivity and selection. If you want to do crazy stuff do it, but don't feel forced to master those techniques, that is not the essence.
In the big picture, I'd just like to think of it as let folks enjoy the way the wanna mix. Some people feel their mixes, others study their mixes and are a bit more technical, others combine both and add more elements. That's why I keep coming up with these tutorials without getting too complicated for the most part; having fun is what DJing is all about, but the skill is still necessary if you ask me.
Yo I have a rev 1 use serato I’m trying to use reckoned his it’s so weird my tracks not doing anything can’t press play on my controller but If I press play on Mac I hear in controller headphones help

hey man, can you tell me what the songs playing in the eq section from 14:18 onwards are?
Oh man, I don't remember the names of the songs. Sorry!
@@djcarlo ok dw thanks anyways!
Hi,the DDJ 800 controller it's compatible with Serato pro?
Unfortunately, no. It's a Rekordbox only controller. The DDJ 1000SRT and the FLX10 are both Serato compatible though!
🔥
Glad you like the video! What was your favorite lesson so far?
I don’t understand, at the beginning of the video you said the “pros” mix by slightly lowering the current songs low end, while gradually bringing in the next song with the low end at neutral position. Then later in the video you completely contradicted that by bringing in the next song with the low end all the way down. Do you just do this to mix it up? Can you explain?
Most Pros use the first method and that goes for DJs who DJ Hip Hop, Top 40, House, etc. The second part is a specialized way House DJs mix using all their EQs :)
@@djcarlo Been playing for many years and never used your method, what you doing is new age crap for commercial tracks.
Is there like a bars on you know survive DJ pro like you know like on the screen where you you know try to play music and then you will read it
I'm not quite sure what you mean buddy 😬
@@djcarlo oh
can u teach how the release fx work on flx4 and what different are there
The FX would be dependent on your software with the FLX4. Only difference I'd say is that it has Smatt Fader and Smart CFX
i still find the in and out buttons a bit confusing. Can you push either to tigthen a loop?
Nope, you'll need to first make your loop, then press the out button again to allow it to tighten using the jogwheel
@djcarlo thanks for your response! And when should you use the in button for then, sorry if this sounds a silly question.
Just to signal the start of the loop
@@djcarlo thanks appreciate the feedback 👍 and the videos
Hello Sir, waiting for your ddj to cdj video
Oh! What would you like to learn? There isn't too much to really talk about besides the lack of performance pads
You can better than James hype bro!
Hahaha, I wish. His creativity is something else to be honest!
@@djcarlo I respect him but I wanna hear Carlo’s style, forget him for a sec and do you bro. He’s not on his channel giving you props. Do your style
Britney Spears Toxic Instrumental With Backing Vocals
Chicago 25 Or 6 To 4 Acapella

Is this a mash up idea?
@@djcarlo yeah, it's useful to learn more anyway. Good tutorial btw
Yo I have a rev 1 use serato I’m trying to use reckoned his it’s so weird my tracks not doing anything can’t press play on my controller but If I press play on Mac I hear in controller headphones help
Oh man, that's strange. Are you using the latest version of Serato, and do you have all the drivers installed?
@@djcarlo no this is for reckordbox I use serato already
