No stems, no other streaming services other than beatport, no internal drive, no dmx. Does AlphaTheta even know what Prime4+ is capable of and how much does it cost?
I totally agree. Prime 4 is way above this one. In my case, I even went cheaper. I'm a wedding DJ (no scratching) and I always use an external analog mixer (Yamahha MG10) so I just went for a DENON SC Live 4, just $1300. I'veused it for 2 years already with not a single glitch and I keep on seing/reading people with either controllers or laptops crusing, allusing expensive ones. I'll keep my SC Live 4 until there's a standalone that works with stems. And just in case, I bought a used SC Live 2 for $700 which I bring as my backup. Problem solved :)
I find it funny that people are complaining this $3200 unit doesn't have EVERY SINGLE option and feature from what is essentially a $13,000 Quad CDJ x A9 setup. My only issue is the apparent lack of magvel.
The problem is a CDJ shouldn’t cost almost $3000 to begin with. They’re relatively basic technology with resistive touch screens like phones from the early 2000s and a cheap ARM processor in order to run rekordbox, you could build a whole PC setup with a 4090 for $3k there’s no reason one CDJ should cost that much, same with the all in one controllers.
@@Eclipzebass Same could be said for any product but that is an ignorant and flawed argument. People seem to not understand that companies have massive overhead, operating costs, payroll, r&d etc… Its not just the cost of the parts inside. People also seem to not understand that companies need to make PROFIT to continue to exist. With that said, you certainly can build a pc or whatever else and run serato or rekordbox on it nobody is stopping you.
@@djcarlo always! You do such a great job reviewing and mixing on cheaper controllers, it makes me feel I really don’t need to spend all my money on something like this. Thank you.
So why is the AZ not having the same layout as the GRV 6 and Opus quad the CDJ style? Pioneer keeps releasing product with no proper upgrade with ridiculous prices. Yet none of the their products beat Denon prime4 which was released years ago.
"Alpha Theta has delivered big time" - really?! No internal drive, no Aux In, no Aux Send, no elements dedicated to Stem-functionality, only one USB-C for laptop connections which makes the switch between two djs difficult inconvenient, no streaming services beside beatport, no dmx, no option to connect USB-sticks via USB-C.... and the list goes on... all of this for 3299,- Euro! If the device had been released in 2021, the features would be acceptable. In 2024, that's simply not enough. At such a high price, I expect more, especially essential features such as the ability to connect two laptops. While the device has great features and is one of the more interesting ones on the market, Alpha Theta continues to underperform and lacks real innovation and essential basics.
Hopefully that *more* cones in updates via the OS. I did find the lack of USB C ports for flash drives odd. I guess most people still prefer USB A drives
Dual deck, that's what Denon had back in 2019 for 2/3 the price. And physical crossfade select buttons, and adjustable brake, and selectable deck colors (stock firmware 1.5)
@@djcarlo Alpha Theta CDJ 3000 mk2 welp if so that price range probably $3,200.00 for wifi a dual deck with stand alone stems probably the end of pioneer era
forreal. I currently use 2x denon sc5000 prime and x1800. Those are coming up on 8 years old now and they have every feature that the AZ has and then some. Only thing this has on the denons is sonic link, which is a great feature but not necessary for most DJs.
To summarise: Expensive, no active layer deck colours, light control that has been on Denon Prime hardware for almost 4 years, weird beat jump button location, gated playback taken from the RX3, the same awful 3 column menu system when sorting tracks, no internal ssd capability, cue point display that has no labels (still.) The only positives I see are the ESS audio chip, wireless headphone capability and the extra dedicated master EQ. Looks like another overpriced con job from Pioneer under the Alpha Theta badge. They can change the name, but they’re still behind the game. I would go for a Denon Prime 4+ with more functionality, flexibility and lower price than this, that gives a Dj much better value.
good points and good summary! yes! There are other manufacturers who caters to differnent needs and price point. If you're happy with Denon DJ - great!
@@ryantabor2593 what are talking about beat jump on the grid? That makes no sense. What I’m saying is there’s no dedicated buttons for beat jump. It’s a sub option on the performance pads.
A very vital point you seem to have missed is that the XDJ AZ is supposed to be replacing the XZ, which is dumb if you ask me, especially as the XZ had a Magvel fader. Heck, even the DDJ 1000 (which I own) has one.
Oh did I forget to mention it? Dang, i think it was just so obvious in my mind that I completely glossed over mentioning it in the review itself! My bad. But, one thing I'll need to correct is that the XZ did not have a Magvel fader. Pioneer DJ even said in a forum post that the Magvel fader doesn't fit into the XZ. Unfortunately, looks like that carried over into the AZ
@@djcarlo yeah. Pioneer/AlphaTheta are known for doing this. I once sent a support ticket to them asking if the screens could display just the artwork like the DDJ 800 and I was told no as the screens are "different".
Can‘t agree with the negative comments.. since the xdj xz everyone was waiting for 4 decks on one device.. now they did it and the az will sell like butter .. small venues, mobile djs,… this is a full 3000 setup for 1/3 of the price Don‘t get me wrong - the competition may have better tech, but in the end if you dj in a club you will face a pioneer setup. I‘m pretty sure stems will come with the next generation of cdjs
Right?! Thing is, I do feel like AT could've spent time developing stems, but then again, I also have this gut feeling that they'll come in a future update. Maybe they're just not ready for release yet (backed up by Rekordbox's stems quality), and they wanna get this unit out first THEN continuously work on updating the software.
Well, i got the XZ. AZ got some great improvements. But: - "AUX Send" only by bluetooth? I have a Rodecaster Pro II. In it you can plug hardware via Bluetooth, Wireless, RCA, XLR ,Jack and USB-C. You can connect 2 computers in it! In XDR-AZ iI like the idea of get more advanced, but we got to think also that we "lost" a physical connection needed for a lot of hardware that is still on the market, as well as for hardware that will be released in the medium term. - LAN port x1? Can we only use one connection per lan? Use CDJ's or other hardware, just with a hub? I like the Wi-Fi protocol, but I feel safer using an RJ45 cable and I have faster data transmission speeds. From what I saw, they are only using the 5G network, when they could have 2.4G and 5G options. Not all countries have full coverage for 5G. - Exclusive Alpha Theta headphones: The headphones don't seem robust to me. Also have "only" 0.9 ms of latency...I want 0.0 ms of latency. Yes, it's a big upgrade compared to the XDJ-XZ, an update to the RX3 but it still doesn't make it a Game Changer. It has very similar functions to the Opus Quad, that's for sure, but the XDJ-AZ is very "Cloud" and less physical. One of the things that many of us were asking for, after the launch of the Opus Quad, was a DJ controller with an internal disk and that would be the ultimate game changer.
I guess AlphaTheta is really trying to push the boundaries for cloud-based DJing with this one. You've raised some good points though, and some markets may not be ready for what the AZ is trying to offer. One counterpoint though is that 0.9ms is still amazing for wireless transmissions. 0 latency, like I mentioned in the video, only exists in analog form for now, but maybe the future might hold something better. Tbh, scratching on wireless headphones blew my mind as I never thought that'd be actually possible!
@@djcarlo yet. In the 30 years since I started playing Pioneer was always the go-to in any club. Changing the name practically opens more options since the household name no longer exist.

For it being 7k in Australia, it’s a hard one to swallow for what it is. Great quality review as always mate.

@@djcarlo Tidal’s always been a could for the last five years 😂. Apart from using it through the Rekrodbox app, I highly doubt seeing it on the device itself. I hope to eat my words though and gladly welcome it 😃
The thing i dont like about the new stuff that they make is that it has a more modern look that is more designed to look good in the home and not something that feels professional and worthy of its price. It looks cheaper than what its capable of doing and is why i like the XZ over this
It's a small upgrade over the XDJ-XZ, I think that the fact you can control 4 channels through the software is what was the greatest weakeness on its predecessor, but Alpha Theta maybe wants to be conservative and keep hold of some features for the future upgrades and then make you spend more money... Well, concurrence is there, such a shame some DJs dont give a proper attention to Rane and Denon...
No you’re wrong, it doesn’t truly have everything, what about internal storage like the prime 4 +? What about stems, what about 4 line inputs, what about a tilting screen, the fixed screen is the only reason I haven’t switched to Alpha Theta/pioneer yet, that makes a huge difference.
Maybe it had everything I needed. Stems though is still a far cry from being on standalones, given that I've seen multiple comments from people saying that their laptops can't handle it. I wouldn't be surprised if the necessary cost-effective hardware just isn't ready yet
I was hoping that it would be a bit cheaper but the Opus Quad had already shown in which direction it was going. But still much better than 4x 3000 and the a9. Luckily I sold my 3000+A9 setup at the beginning of the year because I had this feeling.
@@djcarlo I actually did. I have a RX 3 I’m wanting to learn how to use 4 decks without paying for CDJS, would this be worth it, I’m also disappointed they didn’t add any stems and you still have to use rekord box or serato
Given, stems on standalones is still very much in its infancy. Even Engine DJ's stems havent taken off. And with Rekordbox's stems quality, maybe it's for the best for now lol. But we'll see what the future holds!
Hold on! 4:16 so that means if I have a CDJ plugged only on one side, I can’t use all 4 decks?? Wow that’s actually a huge detail that I haven’t seen mentioned anywhere else. My main reason for upgrading from the XZ with one CDJ would be to access all 4 decks. And I can’t even do that without ignoring the one CDJ or buying another one??
"When using 4 decks, you either have the option to use Pro DJ LINK with CDJS, OR use the deck select method. You cannot use Pro DJ Link on one side, and deck select on the other"
@@djcarlo Wow! I mean thanks for pointing this out. That sort of kills the main reason for me updating. My thought was I could sell my XZ and spend $1000 more towards an AZ instead of another CDJ to get to a 4 deck setup. Can’t do that 🥲
Can’t you just use the line input? You won’t have the pro link feature but you should still be able to have line input on channel 3 and the AZ deck 4 on channel 4, no?
Wow that is an interesting catch... So in a kinda weird way they haven't quite made this fully what people want. Still very good, but kinda odd. I wonder if they can fix it in an update lile Denon DJ does?
It goes toe to toe pretty well! Though, I'll have to give the AZ a little more as this was a fresh design and upgrade. The Prime 4+ was just an upgrade
You couldn't pay me to pretend I care if it has Alpha-theta or Pioneer Dj written on it. 4 channel standalone, winning. I'm still so confused as to why the deck layout is different to the cdj3000 or why there isn't a rotary knob for loop length. But it looks like a really nice bit of kit
that's good! most people still do care! i think they were trying to make the xz users happy with the good old tested design. Loop length, yeah. I prefer buttons for that though
As user of CDJ setup and lover of DDJ-rev1 I still dont get the reason of this kind of controller? it take more space in you bag because you cant separate them. and at this prise point? na,,, like I get point of ddj-400 type (controlelr around $500 or less) but this type (over $2000), WHY dont they get mixer and CDJ. can someone tell me?
I totally get where you’re coming from, especially if you're used to the flexibility of a separated CDJ and mixer setup. The XDJ-XZ is definitely a different animal. For people who want the CDJ/DJM feel at a more accessible price point without getting separate components, the XDJ-AZ is like an all-in-one club setup. You’re right-it’s not as portable as smaller controllers, but it’s compact compared to hauling full-size players and a mixer. It also simplifies the setup if you're moving around a lot or doing gigs where time is tight. That said, if you’re happy with CDJs and the DDJ-REV1, it may not offer enough of a difference for you. For some, though, it’s a solid middle ground between a controller and a full pro setup
I have a Rev1 and I LOVE IT too. Scratching, Open-format, Electronic Dance, i like it all. What are your thoughts on the Rane Performer vs. the CDJ setup? Does the Performer meet your needs for the CDJ setup?
This is essentially 4xCDJ3000s and a mixer. It’s £12,000 worth of gear (minus some features) for a quarter of the price. Nothing is stopping people buying the full set up. I just know this is better for what I need, if I owned a bar or club I’d just buy the CDJs
AZ is a standalone gear. Dont complare it to a controller. To use STEMS or DRUM CIRCUIT you need a computer who does the job. GVR6 shows what alphatheta is able to deliver on Stem/Sample and live remixing.
Finally, someone who gets why this doesn't have stems! Given, it's *possible* but I feel like either the stem separation algorithm wasn't quite ready, or the processor still wasn't powerful enough to smoothly handle it
And does it analyze the songs? Also it doesnt have release fx neither the samplea and i have notice the rx3 is out of stock hopefully they put it back.
I hybrid between usb and laptop on mine it’s just every time I take it somewhere with “Serato only DJ’s” the usb crossover is an inconvenience especially when cheaper controllers have that functionality. I think it’s due to if it had two usbs it might cannibalise the sales of CDJ’s… that was the main reason for me to upgrade so it’s currently saved me some money… “currently” lol

Totally agree with the comments re price. Also, the streaming and connectivity options are miles behind the competition. If AT reduced their prices so it reflected the feature set, which let’s be honest, is not what it should be at this price, then it could be called worthwhile. We as dj’s and the community need to stop this madness that is the AT/Pioneer pricing… I’m not anti AT, only tired of them pushing products that don’t justify the price tag, (in my humble opinion) based on what the competition offers regarding feature set vs price … Thanks for the in depth review Carlo, appreciated🎉
This is the sauce! Only thing I was wish we had was an FX lever similar to the DJM-S7. I don't like all the space used for the mic EQ stuff but IF it lets me map those knobs to FX that would be nice. I wonder if the AZ can support direct Tidal integration without the use of a laptop or phone?

None of the Pioneer DJ/AlphaTheta standalones have motorized jogwheels. Only the REV7 has moving platters. So, yes, it's accurate (I hope that's what you meant), but they didn't go back to static jogwheels as they never changed haha
I do believe SonicLink gives it an advantage, though it'll unfair to compare it with a laptop-dependent 4 channel controller. Different capabilities and specs haha
Despite all its efforts, the lack of this feature excludes it from being a viable purchase. Today, the STEMS feature is a game-changer, and it's completely baffling that Pioneer hasn't implemented it.
Not to me! I just don't think the hardware was ready yet (or maybe the software, who knows). Even standard laptops struggle with stems, so a standalone's hardware would need to be greatly souped up to cope with the processing demand for it

So why is the AZ not having the same layout as the GRV 6 and Opus quad the CDJ style?

Yet none of the their products beat Denon prime4 which was released years ago.

Pads at the bottom and not matching the layout of the 3000’s are a deal breaker for me.
Did they finally give us that one feature that weve all wanted, the ability to Analyze a track without a computer ?
Denon already did in 2019, with a 4ch controller, dual layers, physical crossfade select buttons, adjustable brake, selectable deck colors
From what I recall, the internal software analyzes your files for you, and can link the information to all your Rekordbox devices
@@geuzeg Yeah I know Denon did it, I was hoping for Pioneer to catch up. (also was hoping for an internal ssd like Denon did).
Yeap it does have the ability to do onboard analysis

I totally agree it is sad that denon has all the options for stand-alone plus stems, and it half the price Alpha Theta price gouging😢
Hopefully that *more* cones in updates via the OS. I did find the lack of USB C ports for flash drives odd. I guess most people still prefer USB A drives

Dual deck, that's what Denon had back in 2019 for 2/3 the price.

forreal. I currently use 2x denon sc5000 prime and x1800. Those are coming up on 8 years old now and they have every feature that the AZ has and then some. Only thing this has on the denons is sonic link, which is a great feature but not necessary for most DJs.
and if the denon worked that would have been great as well!
To summarise: Expensive, no active layer deck colours, light control that has been on Denon Prime hardware for almost 4 years, weird beat jump button location, gated playback taken from the RX3, the same awful 3 column menu system when sorting tracks, no internal ssd capability, cue point display that has no labels (still.)
The only positives I see are the ESS audio chip, wireless headphone capability and the extra dedicated master EQ.

@@itsdjmiggy missed that. Looked like loop expansion buttons from the location. What a weird place to put them.

Don‘t get me wrong - the competition may have better tech, but in the end if you dj in a club you will face a pioneer setup.
Couldn’t have picked a better DJ to review this new controller
Thank you! Hope you enjoyed the review! :D
Well, i got the XZ. AZ got some great improvements.
But:
- "AUX Send" only by bluetooth?
Yes, it's a big upgrade compared to the XDJ-XZ How so? I don't think so 😞

The thing i dont like about the new stuff that they make is that it has a more modern look that is more designed to look good in the home and not something that feels professional and worthy of its price. It looks cheaper than what its capable of doing and is why i like the XZ over this
I see what you mean, especially with some of AT, Numark, and Denon's latest offerings, though the AZ looks almost exactly like the XZ....
Based on the comments, I think DJs are beginning to give the others a bit of attention
You’d think they’d add stems given the price and latest tech but no. Sticking with my Flx10 for a while
I'm waiting for that too! But so far, looks like stems only works best with laptops. Hopefully in future updates!

This is essentially 4xCDJ3000s and a mixer. It’s £12,000 worth of gear (minus some features) for a quarter of the price. Nothing is stopping people buying the full set up. I just know this is better for what I need, if I owned a bar or club I’d just buy the CDJs

Previous question about the jog wheels. I was told they were touch capacitive like the RZ/ SZ/SZ2 not Mechanical like on CDJ’s. Is this true?
Yes. From what I recall, they're touch capacitive
no tidal is crazy, no cdj 3000 style pads (why does the grv6 have them? lol), no send/return, no stems is crazy
I was a little confused with the lack of the 3000s jogwheels actually
@@djcarlo jeez I didn’t even realize….
Enough for power mixing and hard edm tunes but for scratching idk. Solid build tho but i miss the pioneer dj logo
I've never been one for scratching on standalones, but it can still be done on the AZ!
The only thing this has over the denon products is the low latency wireless audio. Ill stick with the denons for now.
That's fair! I wonder when other companies will release low latency products too though. Exciting times we live in!
@@djcarlo Exciting indeed. Bluetooth technology has drastically improved in recent years, but many technology manufacturers have not capitalized on this advancement. There is tons of room of room for improvement and I look forward to others adopting the technology. Competitors will surely follow suit.
they just release a standalone but the layout is like a Cdj 3000 with a DJM S9 or S11, as long as it has a stem just in case, I'll buy it.
Stems on a standalone don't exist yet, so maybe that's their next big project! Hopefully they fix Rekordbox stems first haha
Why did you change the title of the video? Before it was "XDJ-AZ Review: The end of Pioneer"?
I didn't feel like it was the right title. Pioneer DJ is AlphaTheta so their was no end to speak of
jog wheel display is not responding
You got one already? It's not out yet!
Do the A9 faders have more resistance or less resistance? I don't like faders that are too slick.
They do from what I feel! Just the right amount
Will you be comparing the AZ to the OPUS?
Probably not. They've got their own individual reviews now, so I don't think I'll need to make a comparison video :)
@@djcarlo what would be a reason to get the opus over the AZ?
@@Hayesvalleyif you are not a performance DJ who use pads and just use a few effects because of your mix and music styles go for Opus.
You can only use wireless headphones?
Nope, you can use normal headphones no problem haha. The wireless one is just an (awesome) option
Yoo, I went into an empty bar today because I saw a DJ playing and had a conversation with him. I didn't noticed it at first but now that I saw this video I think the bar had a brand new XDJ-AZ there (I can remember the plastic film on the jog wheels). It was so massive compared to my mixtrak platinum fx.
that's crazy. it's not even released yet!
@@djcarlo nvm I double checked with an Instagram story of him and it was just an XDJ-XZ. Still really cool controller though.
@@djcarlo I've had my XDJ-AZ for a few weeks. Ordered online October at Perfect Cicuit in LA. They had it to me in 3 days and has a 10% off discount bringing it down to $2800. Luckily it hasn't froze yet. As much as I love my Denon Prime 4 this unit is just superior for better sound and better mixing. Mixing is more accurate, double drops more precise. Now I'm starting to understand why this was club standard.
Great content, very detailed video.
Loved it.
Thank you! I tried to be as concise as I could with the details
Very nice review DJ carlo❤
Thank you so much! What did you like about the XDJ AZ?
so.. the innovative "gate cue mode" is just normal cue in Traktor? 🤣🤣
Hahaha, normal cue as well in Serato. It's bizarre how that was only implemented now
@@djcarlo normal? doesn't it autoplays by default in Serato?
No master Record button for usb 2 slot ?
you can choose were to record. on either usb 1 or 2!
Hi Dj Carlo… Thank you for another great review.. 🏆 I am interested in purchasing the XDJ-AZ or OPUS-QUAD as they are feature packed.. I am undecided though? Can you please let me which one of these two standalone controllers has a “Fader Start” option for beat juggling. This is the most important feature to me. Thank you. 😊
Oh man, I don't think either has it yet! I've only encountered it on DJMs myself
@@djcarloOk…. I was really hoping one of them would have had this option. Thank you. 😢
Im really asking isn't the denon prime 4+ is better than this unit ? 😅
Im working on the ddj rz , and really want to upgrade but pioneer lost me a little bit
Check my review on the 4+ and decide which one better suits your needs! They're both excellent in their own ways
@@djcarlo thank you 🙏🏻
No internal ssd for all
My music and no stems?
Stems might come in a later update! So far, stems only really works properly on laptops, and tbh, AlphaTheta still needs to work on Rekordbox's stems
Thanks for the great review, I love using the "slip" function, on the XZ every time a new track is loaded this function is turned off, has the AZ got a workaround for this where the function is able to stay on even when loading a new track, I find it super annoying that it automatically turns off every time I load a new track, is there a way to keep this function permanently on or is it not possible?
I'll need to check on that. There might be a setting
Surprised you can't have 4 deck mode when you attach 1 CDJ or Sampler.
Well, 4 faders is really all it can handle. The Pioneer DJ DJM-V10 may be what you need otherwise haha
@@djcarlo no, you’re misunderstanding me.
1 - In standalone mode you can play 4 tracks.
2 - You can attach 2 CDJ and play 4 tracks
3 - If you attach 1 CDJ you can only play 3 tracks not 4.
They just need to sort that out and;
1 - Add the ability to have a sampler. I know, no standalone AlphaTheta/Pioneer system does this yet.
2 - Offer to not record the mic and ignore ducking of talk over. I know it does this but I’m not sure it ignores the ducking.
3 - Offer Hot Cue Bank list support, how this hasn’t become a big thing, I feel like you’d love this!
4 - The ability to change the BPM of a track.
5 - 2 laptop support.
6 - Independent Feedback Reducer for each mic, rather than the setting affecting both mic inputs.
Not much to ask for 😎
Can you use Rekordbox 6 or are you pushed to 7?
Does the bigger screen have the new 3band graphical display?
good question. I believe it only works with Rekordbox 7 :(
I just want to know if I’ll be able to send time code to showkontrol for FOH
oof too technical for me soorry
I heard they went back to static jog wheels like on the SZ2. Is this accurate?
None of the Pioneer DJ/AlphaTheta standalones have motorized jogwheels. Only the REV7 has moving platters. So, yes, it's accurate (I hope that's what you meant), but they didn't go back to static jogwheels as they never changed haha
Hi Carlos,
Thanks for the amazing reviews, as always. I would like to know if it integrates with Tidal.
Thanks so much! From what I know, it doesn't have Tidal yet, but it might have integration in the future!
@@djcarlo Thank you 😊
Does it have stems?
No stems! Unless using the unit with a Laptop!
Carlo would "you" pick the Xdj-az or prime 4+ 🤔
both depend on my needs, but if price wasn't a question, I would go for XDJ-AZ. But there is no stems there so it's hard to decide....
I was waiting to see the AZ, but price compared to the amazing prime4+ means I think my next purchase will be the denon.
Thanks for your input :)
when using a 3000 on the side are you able to get stacked waveforms as you do when using 3000 to 3000, or is it still the lines as it was with the xz?
Let me get back to you there. I'll need to double check that
@@djcarlo were you able to find out?
It looks like a great machine but you can already get more for less with a Prime 4 or with VDJ and a decent 4 channel controller.
I do believe SonicLink gives it an advantage, though it'll unfair to compare it with a laptop-dependent 4 channel controller. Different capabilities and specs haha
No stems in standalone mode?
no stems on standalone YET! but if using this thing with Rekordbox or Serato - yes!
Does it support Tidal and Spotify?
For now, NO. Just Beatport and it's own streaming sources
Will you do a mix using the Pionner XDJ AZ?
Of course! Stay tuned for it! 🤭
Can we buy it somewhere??
check the first link in the description! Guitar Center has it!! guitar-center.pxf.io/DKDrAd
Do we get a dj Carlo discount ??
Is there a place in Canada?
Despite all its efforts, the lack of this feature excludes it from being a viable purchase. Today, the STEMS feature is a game-changer, and it's completely baffling that Pioneer hasn't implemented it.
Not to me! I just don't think the hardware was ready yet (or maybe the software, who knows). Even standard laptops struggle with stems, so a standalone's hardware would need to be greatly souped up to cope with the processing demand for it
@@djcarlo Of course, it's not ready because it’s clear that more power is needed, and that costs money. But Pioneer is supposedly the best of the best, so what’s the issue? As they say, if you don’t know what it’s about, it’s about money. I don’t know which laptops don’t have the power for this, but my older computer with an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 handles it without any problem
Gutted it hasn’t got a port to take a ssd drive like the quad has so I can carry my whole library without laptop 🙄
I haven't tried, but you may be able to connect one via the ports!
@@djcarlo I’m getting one regardless (already organised chopping my quad in for it) but it’s the one negative that made me stop to think? (Although not for long🤣
Please if you can report back when you can? 👌🏻
im looking to upgrade from the ddj 400, as this mixer is no longer good for me and I need something way more advanced. Im looking to buy something second hand, and I've been considering the ddj 1000, ddj flx10 and the xdj xz. but now that this came out do you think I should wait a couple months for this to come on the second hand market? or should I go with the ones I listed before
Go for what you just listed! This is super brand new and won't hit the second hand market anytime soon!
@@djcarlo out of the ones i listed, I've seen them all round the $1,600 (CAD) range, what do you think I should go with?
Always better to buy new, trust me on that…
Now if u are looking for an upgrade for you ddj400, there is : ddj800, ddj1000, flx10
@@jaidon210 FLX-10! XZ if you want standalone. XZ should be cheaper now since this just came along.
@@denloubs3205 thing is, ddj 800 i probably cant re sell and ddj 1000 is still $2,100 CAD!! and second hand is only $1,500 CAD
