Been 7 years since i stepped away from DJing, and recently had a chance to get back. Thanks to your channel and content, it has shown how much DJing has evolved over the years, especially for beginners. Definitely a fresh perspective!
This was extremely well broken down and taught. I’ve seen scratch tutorials before and they’re ok but this is that extra level. Thank you dude. Loving your teaching content
Also i find for scratching its best to to turn the high frequencies down on your eq, or drop the tone depending on your bass. i think i learned that from DJ Shortee from memory? 👍
Yes, if you can't find a nice acapella or beat-free sample to utilize. The highs and lows tend to contain percussion elements which can ruin your scratches
@@djcarlo yeah, these days its not as bad because the technology is superior but back in the day some of those acapella and scratch samples were terrible quality, even on vinyl pressings. 😆
You can also loop the sample at shorter intervals and crab scratch it, works similar to that trans effect but i do like that scratch, so ill practice that one and try different fx to see what sounds good, thanks again Carlo, you keep teaching this old dog new tricks. 🙏
@@djcarlo my crabs are pretty bad so the trans effect scratch will work way better at a club once i get it down, that's my goal for this week DJ wise. 😆

I am making music for about 1.5 year now. Also bought the flx4 yesterday. Hoping to use my own music one day! Your videos are super helpfull! Thankyou! Greets from the Netherlands😄
I'm between the FLX10 and the Prime 4+, I don't mind that I have to use the computer because the FLX10 seems crazy to me. However, I think that the Prime 4+ is going to give me compatibility problems in the future in clubs or festivals where there is already Pioneer equipment available, apart from the fact that it is much easier to work with Rekordbox USB. The only thing I can see as super important is that the Prime 4+ is a standalone and my laptop can give problems in the future, but I think that having Pioneer coverage in the future is still the main factor in the purchase. I don't know what to do hahaha
Man, that's a pretty solid dilemma to have, so even I'm having a hard time choosing between what kind of advice to give. Ultimately, go with your gut and the controller you feel will work best for you
I actually meant the settings within xdj-rx3, NOT REKORDBOX. The settings on stand alone device. Vinyl Speed Adjust = “touch” or “touch and release” or “release”? Specifically for scratching. “Touch” feels best for scratching.
Hey do you reply pls How does tracks start automatically after scratch (in rekordbox)? Mine is just scratching but not playing tracks after scratching? Pls help brother🙏🏻

Video is out today 05.08.2024 but most of the product (e.g. 31.5 Inch 4k Monito, DOSS Wireless 5.3 Speaker, DOSS Portable Speaker, 1/4 TRS to Dual XLR Cable...) are no more available on Temu...
I exclusively use analyzed stems on virtualDJ. So for scratching, it's always better to up the voice/high section of the song? Or alternatively, to find a good part of the song
It's preferable to scratch during a vocal-less part of a song, as scratching might interfere with the vocals. However, it depends on what kind of effect your want to achieve
For the sake of demonstration, it's easier to showcase these things on a controller with static jogwheels, with the FLX4 being the easiest to set up and the basic one for those who are new to learning. Only a handful of controllers have motorized jogwheels, but these tricks can be done on them as well :)
Had some scattered videos about these before, but there are some things I haven't talked about yet in this video. Plus, I feel like this is a nice way to refresh the lessons, and condense them into one video
Please Carlo, if you can, put some subtitles in english or brazilian portuguese, will help brazilians to learn with your videos, congratulations for the channel bro!
