Man this absolutely poops on every other beginner tutorial I've watched. So clear, concise, and you explain things in such a relaxed way that I feel relaxed.
I don’t normally comment on YT but I just had to on this one as I’ve got to give credit where it’s due. Honestly hands down the most clear, precise and straight forward beginner Dj video I’ve seen here. Thank you so much
I am so hapy I was the one to make you comment 😅... I am really gld to hear that you found value in this video, I will try maintain/improve the standard :)
A wonderfully clean, neat and concise way of introducing DJing to absolute novices. Many thanks - I now know how to start with my DDJ FLX4. All the best to you and your channel!
Thozi!!! ❤❤❤❤ Ndiyabulela. I have this controller for less than a month now, and been trying to figure it out on my own, this video made it make so much sense now 🔥🔥🔥
After watching this video, I graduated with Cum Laude as a DJ now I can take Gigs. My guy is very well Spoken and articulate himself very well. A whole course in 17 minutes, I feel bad for watching this for free. Great Job Sir.
in my country, the flx 4 and the ddj 400 are kind of expensive. Do you recommend buying the ddj200 and starting with it as a complete beginner or saving until i can get one of the 2 others ? Thank you 🙏
@soulofivy thank you for responding I really do appreciate it. Instant doubles is turned off in my settings. The issue I am experiencing is when I play a track deck 1 and move the crossfader to deck 2 the song on the deck 1 will continue to play even though the fader is on deck 2 until the fader is all the way to the right on deck 2
HELP PLZ!! Great video but Im stuck with a question! Whenever I press load on a new track, it automatically plays it and I noticed yours doesnt do that. I’ve been trying to figure it out but I have no luck :(
Hi. Check your settings to see if you can 'Lock Playing Deck'. In Serato, this is what the setting is called, and it prevents the track from playing when you load it.
Hey Guys, i am about to start djing :) Does anyone know, if for example the ddj flx 4 comes with an Advanced Version of rekordbox? Otherwise you‘ll just have to buy a Full Version right?
Hi Mr thozi I'm a big I just want to say thank you for inspiring me on how to dj I always watch you videos many time. Bro like there was an auddition for djs and dancers etc. But I chose to be a dj and I won to be booked on an event to perform from taung, porch, and cape Town and Gauteng Thank you thozi. ❤
It makes me so happy to hear that man! This comment here is the reason why I make this type of content, having a positive impact on someone’s life. Thank you man 🙏🏿
Hi G, excellent beginers video... "I am looking for a friend!" Lol. One thing; your first track seemed to be one beat behind? I.e. the 1, 2, 3, 4 was on 2.... know what I mean? What ya say my friend?
ha ha, yes. I mean people essentially could play tracks on shuffle, but being a dj is more than just playing music, you need to read the audience, take them on a journey, maintain/change the mood/energy in the room and more
@@thozimusic I understand that part. I also understand why I get bored with the majority of "DJs" that flood the market every day. The vast majority are just recycling the same beat, song, or track over and over again. My wife bought me a controller for xmas because of how much I like music. She thought I could use it to express my creativity. But then when I pulled it out of the box and started to explore what it can do, I quickly discovered it was not much more than a glorified iPOD. I think what I am looking for is how to create with this thing. The big issue I am running into is finding tracks. So far the basic track sites are all the same.
I have a problem with this mentality, not gonna lie. I don’t have to use 1210s, no one has to unless they want to. It’s 2025 bro. This would be the equivalent of someone saying “driving is easy” and you show up and say “easy!?!?, try moving at that speed on a horse” 🫠
@thozimusic oh and you don't drive a horse you ride it ! So there goes that analogy huh ? Now if you'd have said asking an automatic driver to drive stick now that's an analogy for ya !
Man this absolutely poops on every other beginner tutorial I've watched. So clear, concise, and you explain things in such a relaxed way that I feel relaxed.
True. Realy to the point
Yet, never heard a training with both cue&mix, say left earphone for deck 1 and right for deck 2.

This is one of the best beginner DJ tutorials I’ve seen! Thank you, thank you so much!
What is the brand and specs of your laptop? What are the basic specs one should look out for when buying a laptop to use when starting out.
I made my decision to get this controller as I’m just learning not for a profession but for myself.
Thank you bro for this video!

Thank you so much Mr thozi
You are the best tutor🔥
Thanks bro! Glad you’re finding it helpful
Where can I get those great tracks you were mixing?
So if you are doing a beat mixture must you only use a low to beat match
Does anyone know how I can stop the left deck from playing on the right deck in Serato dj pro
Hi. This could potentially be the Instant Doubles setting in Serato. It loads the track on both decks. Is this what you meant by your question?
@soulofivy thank you for responding I really do appreciate it. Instant doubles is turned off in my settings. The issue I am experiencing is when I play a track deck 1 and move the crossfader to deck 2 the song on the deck 1 will continue to play even though the fader is on deck 2 until the fader is all the way to the right on deck 2
This video is great. Watching here at Kingdom of Saudi Arabia!
Wow! That’s awesome to hear! Sending good vibes to you all the way from South Africa!
How do you remember where your mixing points are eg at which point in track a do you press play in track b?
Please which DJ controller for now
I'd strongly suggest the one I am using in the video. Pioneer DJ FLX4
@thozimusic thank you sir but what about DJ flex 10
Thank you!
Are you sure there is a step 8? but it was a great clean vid, thx.
Super helpful! Subbed for future content 🫡
Thid controller works with Vitual Dj?

Your Welcome my friend.🙏
Thx so much god bless you ❤ and I hope you have a great year ahead 🎉🎉
Wait. So all you do is play songs? Do people pay you money to just play songs? Why can't they just put the play list on shuffle?
ha ha, yes. I mean people essentially could play tracks on shuffle, but being a dj is more than just playing music, you need to read the audience, take them on a journey, maintain/change the mood/energy in the room and more

I feel like I can dj now. I wish I had a controller so I can take this mixing as my new hobby.
Easy ? Try it on 1210s then come back to me.

@thozimusic yeah, call yourself a dj ? A dj is a disc jocky, its in the name. If you can't spin vinyl you ain't no dj.
@thozimusic oh and you don't drive a horse you ride it ! So there goes that analogy huh ? Now if you'd have said asking an automatic driver to drive stick now that's an analogy for ya !
You let that train wreck play so long. Good example of what a DJ aims to avoid.
