Boom bap and 80s and disco are way harder to me imo.Cuz when I came up the record pools were actual comer record stores that would hold ur hotlist for the week, member those days pure analog it was expensive
DJ Carlo explain the technique step by step and easy to understand but before you apply this technique make sure that you watch his other tutorials like beatmatching, mix in key, how counting bars in a song. Because those are the fundamentals of rocking a dance floor.
I'm a 52 year old grandpa. I have been watching your channel for some time now. I'm just beginning this DJ journey and have learned a lot from your videos. I have always enjoyed listening to what I call club and dance music. My favorite has to be the old-school 80's era music. Thanks for your teachings. Bobby
I'm 60 and have been deejaying since high school. There's always something to be learned; especially from this channel. I play everything from country to reggaetón, but my favorite is also the old school 80s era.
The thing about your videos I appreciate is that you show that DJ'ing is approachable to the beginner and how incredibly complex of a skill it can be. The floor and ceiling of skill is shown. Seems like the more I watch I'm struck with "I can do that" as well as having an appreciation for how skilled you are.
Hey Carlo, I just wanted to drop you a quick message to say thank you so much for teaching me how to DJ. I've been having an absolute blast putting together mixes and playing around with different sounds since our lessons, and I couldn't have done it without your guidance. I really appreciate your patience and your willingness to share your expertise with me and everyone else. Thank you again, and I can't wait to show you what I've been working on! ✌✌
In my opinion, this is a cool transition because even as a beginner dj like me is very well possible to use this technique. The fact that big and well known djs use this transition motivates me to keep practicing and to always give my best. PS Love your videos, thank you, you have made my entry very fast and easy.
This is some dope stuff 8:20, I love that you are doing it on the basic CDJ to show people that this is all possible for everyone without having to lay out tons of cash!!!
Hey! My name is Jake Blevins and I just started my DJ’ing career. I found Turn Up Columbus and they brought me in be able to actually start making money with music. I’ve watched you since my first day with the controller they are letting me borrow for now. I’ve always appreciated the explanations you gave with the live performances. You break things down so easily to show how anyone with passion can do this. I hope to be able to share my passion with so many others like you have. I have my first gig coming up on the 15th and can’t wait to use all this tricks I’ve learned from you, including now loop transitions. Thanks for everything Carlo
Hey man, me and wife are newbies in DJing and finding you has been such a great help since the first day. Thanks for sharing your knowledge to everyone. 🎧
He Carlo, I wanted to thank you for your videos. I'm a middle school teacher and I have been teaching a DJ elective with my students and have frequently used your videos. Thank you for the quality work and helpful and content.
As a person who has started djing properly, I definitely find this loop trick helpful! Good video explaining everything required to master this technique
This man will be the teacher of the music world. A warrior who makes the difference between vowels and consonants zero. In the future, he will be the person everyone knows and wants to be in his videos. Artists who feel accomplished when their talents come out here will fill up. Wow!!
Im glad that these newer mixing techniques are taught by someone as good as DJ Carlo! Finding tutorials as easy to follow as yours is impossible on RUclips. Keep it up 🔥
Hi Carlo, I have been DJing for a few years now. Well, DJing is a big word, I just put on songs. Then I started watching your videos and now I can do it much better. Keep going!

Hi Carlo, indeed you are a great teacher, I am 45 and producing music for over 15 years and got into Dj-ing for two years now. I have been learning by my mistakes, but you gave me a lot of new and useful tips and tricks! Keep up the good work, love Roland
This looping transition is game changer for new DJs, it spices up your set and adds some professional feeling to it! Grateful to have tutorials like these!

If you're an experienced musician..... Djing is a blast! Don't dog it till you try it! It's definitely not easy learning all the functions, but it helps if you have a good sense of tempo/timing! Dj Carlo is the best in the biz when it comes to learning these boards! You the man...........MAN!
DJ Carlo, without your videos I don't think I would have the confidence to push myself to try new things. You've changed my life and you continue to give me the assurance to keep going! Thank you!!!
I started to learn DJing from a week and this trick is one of the best for beginners and this trick can be used on any tracks/genres. and I also loved the videos where u show how other DJs dj. The best part of starting to learn is that even though I don't have a controller (can't afford) I can confidently go anywhere and they can give me controller then I can play because of ur videos. I love your videos a lot.
Amazing breakdown of the technique. Another trick I use when setting the beat grid and BPM for acapellas - because sometimes acapellas do not start properly on beat one: First I ensure proper beat grid and BPM for the original track, next I load the ACA Track and the Original track on Deck 1 and 2. Then I transfer the BPM and grid settings from the original to the acapella track.
Thank you for the hundreds of tutorials. I’ve always wondered how to rhythmically cut and this video helped me with that obstacle. I also like how you show the rekordbox screen on the top! Thank you

I’ve been watching these videos so much. I can’t wait until my flx4 gets here so I can get started on learning this stuff hands on. Always have had a great deal of love for music and been wanting to DJ since I was 16. Now I’m almost 40 and just getting to it.
As a beginner trying to find simple loops to practice, this video is great place to start for me. Glad to see that you have so much info out there to help someone like myself!
This one of the reasons I love to mix drum.and bass. You don't need to manipulate with loops to make tbe transisitions sound energetic and high energy. It's the last genre that uses pure blending and cutting. Loops are fun to fuck with though
@@djcarlo totally! Like you said it can be done, and it's not super difficult, but it's just not necessary for the most part. DnB already has a lot of builds and rolls to work with in transisitions and blends. Really like your Channel Carlos. Lots of great info and enjoyable to watch. Thank you!
I'm amazed what's possible with this basic gear, and I love how you break down the steps. I would love to see this for different types of genres and transitions more often.
quick loop tip, if you want to have the auto loop activation in rekordbox but dont want the cue point shifting when you adjust the in point, use a memory cue instead of a hotcue
Thank you for shareing all these techniques with us, it is really pleasent to follow you and watch your videos. I go to my garage and practice tonight :)
The title is not clickbait. Thanks for great instructional Carlo. Coming from a different univere where vinyl has been the main staple, even up to these days, looking at controller technology... I mean, with this, and stems, and live streaming and even running the lightrig... Dj`ing has become something quite more involved than just not selecting great music (Always the most important) to now being able to cut a song into its core and turning it inside out, remixing on the fly.... Its mind boggling really
I love watching your videos I'm just barely starting to learn to DJ I've been practicing on my cousins equipment and I love learning about new tequniques!
Hi DJ Carlo, I appreciate your content very much, your explanations are very clear and they help me a lot to apply thoses techniques. 🔥🎧 I've recently started to DJ with a friend of mine and so far we are sharing his DDJ-FLX4. I hope I'll be your lucky contest winner, this limited edition DDJ FLX4 would look awesome next to my friend's ! 🙃🥳
The looping method is a very creative and a easy method to learn if you put the effort into practicing these techniques. DJ Carlo shows these lessons thoroughly and carefully and explains it fully on how we should go about it. He digs deeper into the secrets of cool tricks that not a lot of other DJ's show for free and as well as helping us become a greater DJ day by day. Thank you DJ Carlo one of the best instructors and DJ's on youtube!
Love your accent man! Plus the explanation is so helpful and detailed that i can easily understand it in the first time only. Your vids are too helpful! Much love to you!!🤜🤛

Another trick I use when setting the beat grid and BPM for acapellas - because sometimes acapellas do not start properly on beat one: First I ensure proper beat grid and BPM for the original track, next I load the ACA Track and the Original track on Deck 1 and 2.
It can be done for sure! Though it works better with electronic music in my opinion
@@djcarlo There are enough different types of genres in electronic music 😄👍
Thanks a lot for helping me to refresh & get myself actualized to the new Dj techniques. I was vinyl Dj long, long time ago.
You're welcome! I guarantee you'll have a lot of fun digitally manipulating the tracks in your sets nowadays! :)
Best explained and demonstrated video. Lots of other videos just rambling and not breaking down the steps
Thanks DeeCee! I really work hard on making sure the tutorials are concise, and don't get too bloated with unnecessary info.
Much love for u for explainin this transition, had some difficulties with loops and now im slowly getting it. Love it thx Carlo
Glad the video helped with your loop game buddy!
Thank you fore this video, you already learned me so much about DJing.
These videos give me a lot of inspiration to use in my mixes.
And there's always something new to learn!
quick loop tip, if you want to have the auto loop activation in rekordbox but dont want the cue point shifting when you adjust the in point, use a memory cue instead of a hotcue
Great tip!
@@djcarlo yep thats why when i have to use cdjs (without hid mode) i make djcu save my loops to memory cue instead of hot cue
Thank you for breaking the method down in such a way that beginner DJs can understand easily!
For sure! Really wanted to make sure it was accessible to all!
Thank you for shareing all these techniques with us, it is really pleasent to follow you and watch your videos. I go to my garage and practice tonight :)
Keep on practicing Pala! It's the best way to improve!
One of the most useful videos for beginner DJ’s on RUclips🙏🏼🙏🏼 thank you🙏🏼
That's what I like making!
It really is! It's amazing how you can really "play" with the music nowadays!
