  • This is Kacee's first time watching reaction to the movie 'Back to the Future Part II". In this zany sequel, time-traveling duo Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Dr. Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd) return from saving Marty's future son from disaster, only to discover their own time transformed. In this nightmarish version of Hill Valley, Marty's father has been murdered and Biff Tannen, Marty's nemesis, has profited. After uncovering the secret to Biff's success -- a sports almanac from the future -- Marty and the Doc embark on a quest to repair the space-time continuum.

    Elisabeth Shue, who became an Oscar-nominated for best actress star (for Leaving Las Vegas which won Nicolas Cage his only Oscar). She is also Ali ("with an I") from Karate Kid fame and she IS in the amazing Cobra Kai, as well-- AND The Boys. She took over for Claudia Wells as Jennifer who couldn't do the sequels (made 4-5 years after the original) because of her sick mom. The brilliant Crispin Glover also wasn't in the sequel (Jeffrey Weisman took over) as George McFly-although most can't tell since they used so much of his footage from the original. Weisman was the upside-down George. The MOST amazing prediction that was almost nailed (missed by a year) was the Cubs winning the World Series for the 1st time in 108 years. Plus, they also predicted that Miami would have a MLB team. The Marlins didn't start until 1993- 4 years after the movie's release and wound up playing the Cubbies in a classic NLCS in 2003. Miami made a miracle comeback to extend the Cubs losing streak to 96 years before they finally won it all (after 108 years) in 2016. The Cubs ALSO came close in the actual 2015, as well. Also, that was little Elijah Wood at 9:25

      Crispin Glover reportedly had a falling out with co-writer and Producer Bob Gale after the first movie. Glover was unhappy with the ending. Gale claims the reason Glover wasn't in the sequel was because he demanded too much money, while Glover claims it was because he had problems with the script. After the sequel was released, Glover sued the producers for unauthorized use of his likeness.

      @@asterix7842 Crispin Glover is brilliant, but unfortunately he has attitude issues. Not as bad as Klaus Kinsky, but still enough that directors have a hard time with him. That could be a reason why we never heard after Back to the Future again from Crispin Glover.. at least not that i know of - not in a big hollywood movie. While Christopher Lloyd is still big, and had many roles after back to the future. Same goes for Elisabeth Shue, ..same for Michael J. Fox, same for Tom Wilson, etc.. Crispin Glover also reminds me of George Takei, who doesnt got roles beyond Star Trek (while Shatner, and Nimoy got roles beyond Star Trek ... even Walter Koenig had a big role in Babylon 5). George Takei also liked to complain with the director, that "Shatner got to much screen-time, even when he wasnt talking the camera was on him" . I disliked Takei for that (its absolutely onto the directors vision what he wants to make with the film... and not about the actors vision). That was also the problem for Crispin Glover... he just wanted an ending of Back to the Future, which was not materialistic (having sucess as an author, .. having fency cars etc ) , while the vision of the directors were: "if someone changes his character.. gets confident etc , than also success will come by its own" .. And even if that vision is not good - its onto the director, and not the actor. The actor has to play the vision of the director. Within that vision the actor has freedom how he wants to express that vision, and sure its allowed to have a back and forth about that expression of the vision... but not about the vision itself. Crispin Glover doesnt understands that... not even to this day. And he doesnt understands it, because its all about his ego. Thats in my opinion why he sued the director/company for using his face (mold), and his characterization of George McFly , like if its his goddamn patend or something ... i agree with the mold, but other than that... its really just overreacting... just because he still wasnt over it.
      And he is not only with directors that way. Occassionally he also is not likeable with fans... There is footage about few occassions, when he got quiet in a argue with a fan about an autogram.
      Its unfortunate that he has that kind of a character.. he literally destroyed a lot of opportunities in his life with his attitude.
      He is such a brilliant actor, and to invent such a character like George McFly is amazing , and still to this day: iconic. Its so sad, that he as a person has such problems :/

There's a deleted scene in 2015 that has Old Biff and him talking about the manure and fixing his car for $300 back in 1955. The first movie is a masterpiece with no more paradoxical issues than any other take on time travel, but the second movie ignores it's own premise, and the basis of it's predecessor.
    If Marty traveled from 1985 to 2005+, that means he was absent for 1986 forward, and therefore was never there to get married, have kids, get fired, or exist at all in the future. This was a well established fact from the first movie from literally the first demonstration in which Einstein the dog was absent from the minute that was skipped over instantaneously arriving one minute in the future. Conversely how Marty and his siblings began to be erased from existence as soon as his parents first meeting was meddled with.
    The premise of these movies negates pretty much everything that happens in part 2.

    Other 80s iconic film you should try: 'Ghost', 'Electic Dreams', 'Inner Space', 'Three Fugitives', 'Dead Poet Society', 'Big', 'Fright Night', 'Weird Science', 'Some Kind of Wonderful', 'Parenthood', etc.

    Yes, Claudia Wells played Jennifer in the first installment, but by the time that they were ready to produce Parts 2 and 3, she had taken an extended leave from acting as her mother was diagnosed with cancer; Elisabeth Shue took over the role. Incidentally, Elisabeth Shue starred in the comedy film "Adventures in Babysitting," which I recommend if you haven't already seen it and are still wanting to watch `80s films.

    Yes the character of Jennifer was recast because the original actress, Claudia Wells i think as her name had a family emergency and couldn’t be part of the second movie which was filmed very shortly after the first. Apparently because Micheal J fox as older than his character of Marty studio/movie executives choose to film Back To The Future 2 right after the first so as to not let Micheal J fox get much older between movies thus allowing his teen character look as much like a young teen or 20 something as as possible.
    Also the actor who played George McFly did not retire for the second movie due a dispute over his salary so scenes of him as and old man in the future are also a recasting footage of 1955 George McFly may have been done with stock footage. Fun Fact about Back To The Future 2 when the scenes from 1995 occur there 4 Delorean Time Machines actually present- (1) The Delorean which Marty originally drives from 1985 to 1955 and back, (2) the Delorean old biff drives from alternate 1985 to 1995, (3) The Delorean which Marty and Doc drive from alternate 1985 to 1955, and (4) the one that 1885 doc leaves in a hiding place which is revealed in third movie.

    It's rather amazing, given that BTTF 2 and 3 were not in the cards when Robert Zemeckis made the first film. Very risky, and it's one of the few times where "tacking on" sequels actually worked out.
    Not well known, but there was an animated series for Back to the Future released in the early 90s.
    Some 80s movie suggestions:
    David Cronenberg's The Fly
    Star Trek 2 The Wrath of Khan (Don't worry, it's a fairly standalone story and considered one of the best Star Trek anythings around. You'll love it.)
    Tron
    The Blob (80s remake)
    Ghostbusters
    Nightmare on Elm Street
    Gremlins
    An American Werewolf in London
    Glory
    They Live (one of my favorites)
    Escape from New York
    The Goonies
    Explorers

    There a deleted scene where old biff vanishes from the future when he brings the car back to the future. Writer and director stated sometime in the 90s Lauren get fed up with biff abusive behavior and shoots and kills him. Means old buff is not alive anymore in 2015. Technically Marty saves Biff life too. Because Biff becomes the worst person alive with all that money. They trim out to save time and it was not vital plot point , just small detail

    the reason shue replaced claudia wells as jennifer is that claudia's mother had been going through some sort of cancer treatment or something like that at the time and she neede dot be with her mom.

    Plot holes that don’t fit into their own rules. If Marty and Jennifer leave 1985 for 2015 then they’d just be missing for 30 years. Also, Old Biff couldn’t bring the DeLorean back from 1955 to the original 2015 as it would be the alternate timeline.

    • @WelcomeToTheGoldenPage
      @WelcomeToTheGoldenPage Год назад +1

      lol that's true.. plus there's a part where they fix everything and wake up Jennifer who is still on the bench where they left her back in biffword. If any of this was true Doc would have gone back a few days or figured out a way to save the kids without going all the way back to 1985 and bringing both of them into the future. It makes no sense and he should know better

    • @existentialgamer9206
      @existentialgamer9206 11 месяцев назад

      The past and future seem to work differently in the movie universe: the first movie established that changes in the past take time to manifest, until a Point of No Return (George and Lorraine’s kiss in the first movie). So it’s possible that Biff could come back to 2015 as it would take time for his changes to take effect. But by the time Marty and Doc went back to 1985, it was set. A deleted scene showed old Biff dying in 2015 after he got back because Lorraine shot him in the 90s in the new bad past, so he was disappearing like Marty would have
      As for the future, they weren’t missing because in the timeline Marty and Jennifer were destined to return. Though this one’s tricky because if that was the case, it happened after the 3rd movie, where Marty overcame his “chicken” thing, so he should have never hit the Rolls Royce or taken Needle’s bait. This one’s definitely a plot hole
