If the Wal-Mart isn’t left to rot and fall apart, chances are a building that size called be bought out and turned into a mega church. I see it happen all the time around where I live.
Hopefully someone purchases this building. It’s still in good shape.

It happened where my grandparents live
This particular Walmart is located in Forest Park, OH. This along with another store in Louisville, KY closed in April 2022 for underperforming. Makes you wonder how badly they were doing, considering most every Walmart I ever go to is crowded with customers.
All fun in games until you here “excuse me, the store is now closed please exit the building.”

I live not too far from there. I'm gonna miss going to that Walmart. I drove by there the other day and they were taking shelves apart and loading them onto a truck.

My local walmart in Ohio is eventually going to close from my observation, there are usually more workers than shoppers there...everyone goes to the nearby Meijer and Kroger instead
As an ex associate I recognize most of the stuff there.
I know it's weird looking at the empty shelves n yet still know what went where without batting an eyelash lol

They lost a lot of business by getting rid of 24 hours. I used to spend $200 a week in there. Now I only go once every 4 months to get motor oil. If I’m forced to shop during the day, there’s better options.
I don’t go to Walmart either unless I absolutely have to. They got rid the 24 hours due to the virus, many stores followed suit.
No they didn’t. They’re actually saving a ton of money. Operating costs cut by more than half in every aspect.

The stores and shops lost business that was there before the Walmart came now the Walmart is gone and the before long and pop shops are gone , jobs and goods not easily accessible

Walmart is getting a taste of what it's like to be Kmart, or at least this one location is. Imagine buying the building after it closes and turning it into a huge house! Think about it: the main sales floor can be split up into partitions that can be more rooms, the McDonald's/Subway can be a kitchen area, the smaller rooms such as the customer service area can be bedrooms, the stockrooms can be a huge storage area, the auto center can be a garage for cars and the garden center would make a great patio.
That’ll be crazy! I think this location will be good for a new Kroger Marketplace or a entertainment center.
Well, Walmart's been closing lot's of underperforming stores though it's mostly either the smaller discount stores or the Neighborhood Markets. It's kinda rare to see a Supercenter close it doors due to underperforming.

I’m beginning to see a pattern here, Kmart was shut down because of Walmart now Walmart is being shut down because of amazon.
Looks like walmart got is getting a taste of Kmart and sears is like there's one like this in my city and its massive they abandoned it in February of this year and everything is left inside of the building I'm planning on exploring the building with friends hopefully no one is around i don't want to get caught especially when entering the walmart through the garden centre
You might want to be careful because Walmart do hire security after their stores closed.
Orange floors meant this way a newer Walmart, probably spent millions on it being built alone and maybe was only open 10 years. Lost a lot of money on this one
This Walmart opened in 2006. It lasted only 16 years.

Walmart is meeting the same fate that Kmart dealt with ten years ago! In other words, Amazon has become the new Walmart.

They don’t close big supercenters often in 2021 they closed a super center in Columbia sc and in 2019-2020 a supercenter in Knoxville tn.
In recent years, Walmart has been closing stores a lot and turning them into Walmart distribution centers or leave them simply abandoned.

You can tell they tried to make a go of it. It opened as a full Supercenter but based off the size it looks like the store was shrunk by half at some point. That wall by the former Vision Center is a dead giveaway.
Yes, this was built as a super center and a year after it opened, they decided to close the other half of the store.

The bulk of the cost to open a restaurant is in the Kitchen Equipment and Refrigeration. I see a few restaurants worth of abandoned equipment in this abandoned Walmart... to the person thats savvy enough to start their own business in the Forest Park, OH area. 😉👍🏻

That is my old Walmart I used to always go there but since I moved I went to a different Walmart I was at a restaurant near it but we went to that Walmart and it was closing and I am sad

When the video was recorded, the Walmart closed two months earlier. By the looks of it, it looks like Walmart is still trying to auction everything off so they can put the building for lease.

It was closed because of structural issues because it was built on a swamp/coal mine. State deemed it unsafe

Say if this Wal-Mart is left to rot for 10+ years (Like the one in Pittston PA) this video would be a relic as the interior falls apart and relics from today slowly fade away, all locked in the Late 2010s-Early 2020s
I think Walmart still owns the building as security still patrols the parking lot. Walmart keep their super centers in good shape once they closed so they can find a potential buyer.

This was filmed during an auction, I’m sure everything is now gone.
When they shutdown the old Walmart and had the new Walmart Supercenter. They left allot of stuff behind. They hardly took any of the electronics gaming systems and TV's. Me and my friends took them all. We checked the security office and they didn't take the security systems and we took those also. Lucky we had room ro put everything in the back of the vehicle. We kept eyes on the place and nobody arrived and did anything. Cause we put clear tape on the top of doors to see if they was ever opened. Homeless People was staying inside until one of them told someone that reported it to the police. Those that was on there was charged with breaking and entering and theft. It was later demolished.

Soon placed will be only storage and drones will fly around delivering food. In the future i 50 percent of people owning less cars. Some of my friends kids refuse to drive and just ride their bikes to places or order an Uber/Lyft if they need to go far.
