I had it happen when a customer in the waiting room had a second key in her purse. She was leaning on it and hit the remote start. Luckily I was only putting brakes on it.

20 years ago I put a car up on the lift to do exactly that. An oil change. As I was trying to lift it, the aftermarket alarm kept going off. From the motion sensor.
The buttons were worn off the key fob, so I had no way of knowing which did what. I kept fooling with the buttons, and finally got the alarm turned off. Or so I thought.
5 minutes later, the car started. Yep. No oil in it. I couldn't let the car down fast enough, to rip the coil wire off it.

Should have grabbed a ladder and stepped on the brake pedal that will shut it off.

This is silly. just turn the ignition off before you lift the car. However with some of the lube techs ive seen these days, stupid is as stupid does.
