Thank you for all your videos over the years. You helped me realize that grafting apples is something I could probably do, so I tried it and last year was the first year I had success. It means a lot to me because it has allowed me to propagate trees planted by grandfather on property that passed from the family. The new landowners on that property were happy to have me take cuttings and a little later this year I will help them prune the trees which are healthy but very overgrown (thanks for those videos as well!) I live in the US so sadly I can't try any of your scionwood, but I'll put a little money into your suggested charity all the same. Thanks again and I wish you, your family, and many trees a happy, healthy and productive 2018.

I had good luck with this supplier. They don't even have a website, just an order form. I did a small order this year since I couldn't directly contact the guy. He has quite a few rare varieties and I've already received my scionwood, which looked good. growingfruit-images.s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/original/3X/7/8/78891837572bb2275ce24c0a5dc2dab393dea1b8.pdf

    Best wishes from Germany.

THANKS FOR DONATIONS TO TREE AID. As you can see if you check out their web site, they're doing great work to help some of the poorest people and the most degraded environment on the planet. Like I said in the e-book 'Tales From and English Orchard, ' Amazon kindle $5 or equivalent) I am neither an enthusiastic advocate nor a denier of the man made global warming theory, but believe that wisdom and prudence say we should assume the danger is real and DO GOOD THINGS that should help. Planting trees to hold back desertification must be top of the list. NB this is not a religious charity, so nobody whether atheist, agnostic, hndu, Protestant of Catholic Christisn, Muslim or other should have any objection to passing them the price of a couple of plants from the garden centre.
PLEASE NOTE that just as a donation is not required to get a scion wood send out, neither is it a GUARANTEE, and I can't send your money back as I don't have it-your donations go direct to the charity (via Just Giving). that said, keep the £$Es flowing, and as a community we can all feel good about this.
I will begin processing the requests this afternoon. Expect a very brief reply saying 'got it'. I plan to start cutting the wood next week and will send it out in March, mostly in the second week.

Well said Stephen, many people are unaware about the importance of trees to the local environment.
Most of them seem to have a vague idea that trees are of global importance but don't seem to understand how it works.
If you can watch this (wherever in the world you live) it may explain just how important they are to everyone.

In last february, for the first time, and with only knowledge from videos and books, I did gather scions. I had about 6 to 8 one in freezing bag in the vegetable drawer in the frig. When it was time to use them, they were all quite moldy. Is there a way to prevent this?
Firts of all, thanks for the générosity to post those instruction video.
    Merci beaucoup from Québec city

REALLY REALLY STOP NOW. I will honour all requests for scion wood that I received up until 01.45 this morning UK time but not one more under any circumstances. It's great that the scion wood send out is so popular but I now have around 100 requests to process, that's about 400 individual packets of wood and it's going to take me many, many hours of my free time. Can't do any more, sorry.
Many thanks for the donations to Tree Aid by my Just Giving page, this is appreciated-just a reminder, the scion wood is free and without condition.
PS some of the wood of rare varieties is very thin, I will send the best I have and most of it is good, but some is not so good. I will do a video advising how to make the best of thin scions, n a few cases it's that or nothing.

Hi Stephen, iv just subscribed to your channel and your videos are excellent and very informative. Myself and my father have planted some apple trees in the paat few weeks one of which was sold as a "clydeside". We stay just outside Glasgow ans very close to the clyde valley which traditionally grew apples in years gone by.
I cant seem to find much information online about this variety of apple and I was wondering if you would have any information on it ? Best wishes

If you sent me a request and I have responded to your email, i will send wood in March. If you emailed me and haven't had a confirmation, try again-I will not be responding to requests sent by any means other than the email I gave out. Kind regards

Stephen Hayes Hi Stephen, I sent a request about an hour after the video went up but didn't get a message back :( I've just tried sending it again, could you please let me know if you received it? My original email was to molecatcher2015 without a capital M - I don't know if that makes a difference. I've been waiting for this opportunity for ages after deciding which apples to choose from your book and your videos and I'm a bit sad I didn't get an email response - I've been waiting for it all week. Thanks, I appreciate that your giving up a lot of your time and money for this - I've donated on just giving. Adam
