Sorry no scion wood this year

  • Sorry, we are just too busy to send out any scion wood this year, it's a big undertaking and I have too much else on, besides which the garage, that I usually use to lay out all the wood, is filled with stuff as we have both adult daughters living with us during Lockdown. Maybe next year. I promised some wood to 2 or 3 folks, they know who they are, if they send me the emails where I said I would send wood I will honour that but no others please.
PS this video should have uploaded1 month ago but I pressed the wrong button (where YT have changed and much over-complicated their system) and hadn't noticed, so doubly sorry. 6 lots of scion wood were sent out last Wednesday, they can be no more.

I think most of us appreciate You and Julia more than scion wood, or even the orchard.

Thank you everyone for these kind words. The last 2 years have been complicated and busy. I will take some pictures of the spring blossom as it emerges with my new cameras (a Panasonic Lumix and a Canon EOS 200 SLR) and perhaps make them into a slide show with some relaxing music.
The focus of my early videos was to pass on lessons we had learned and showcase the fruits themselves. I get the impression that many viewers just like to stroll round the orchard with us, and I will try to bear that in mind.
    Enjoy this Easter weekend.

Sir, we do not mind any repetition of subject matters in your videos. I actually watch your videos over & over again. I find them very relaxing.

So glad to see you posting videos once again Stephen, great news on the surgery that corrected the heart condition. You've been an inspiration with my own heirloom apple orchard.

Glad to hear from you again! Please try to relax and enjoy your orchard, and stay literally grounded. I always get inspired by the videos, and tried to make some of my varieties too, but they just dont have the quality of yours. Stay healthy, and thank you for taking us around in your orchard.

Very glad to hear your surgery was successful. I just have a small back yard and have relied on your knowledge to create a mini orchard of espalier apple and pear trees. I can't begin to express how grateful I am for the knowledge you have shared.

You aren't allowed to build a house on your land but the neighbor can build the Taj Mahal of horse confinements.

Thank you for the videos, you really inspired me to start grafting 5 years ago, and have done so every spring since. Hoping to get fruits of most grafts this years. Thank you for sharing your knowledge

I see your issue with the neighbours hanger but why not go for something fast growing like willow? Lrylandi are a menace.

Glad to see you're back, Stephen, and well too! Glad the surgery was a success. As others have said, your videos have been missed. Many years ago now, probably 2011/12/13(?) I sent you some D'Arcy Spice scion wood and I think Costard too, perhaps? Anyway, I hope the trees are doing well! If you do not want to cover the same topics, perhaps you could do a video on the trees I mentioned and any others you have grafted from scion wood sent to you via your scion wood swap? Should time allow, and if you have a record of those varieties, of course. Just a thought.

Been too long sorry about health issues. Keep up the good work. Once lockdown ends any chance of having open day's when idiots like me can come and look and ask stupid questions?

Please research the effect of Leyland Cypress on apple trees. My experience is that they will cause fire blight on your apple trees.
