  • Sorry again about film quality, new SLR camera behaved unpredictably and wind picked up just as we started filming, its this or nothing.

    Bark tearing and bad angles downsides to pole saws. Definitely time savers

      Carla is growing well, plenty of wood but no fruit yet. I'll hopefully taste some this year.

    Lovely to hear from you again, and I am certain that 'new knowledge' was on offer, but I could not hear a thing that you were explaining because of the wind noise! How irritating is that!

    • @stephenhayesuk
      @stephenhayesuk  3 года назад +1

      The wind was a pain, sorry. It started just as we began filming. I must remember to bring some cotton wool to tape over the mic next time.

      @@stephenhayesuk No need to apologise! I can see my comment was not as polite as it should have been! What I was really trying to say was 'What a shame with the wind as I was really looking forward to hearing what you had to say' - if you see what I mean.

    Back with a bang and since the video quality is so much better. I think you could rereview varieties or things you have changed your mind on.

    Does your pole saw have a secature with a pull rope? They are invaluable for cutting the smaller stuff up top although the rope tends to tighten on your hand if you loop it. Gloves help though.

      @@stephenhayesuk great. It really inspired me to do the same and we've now planted our 2nd 'peace orchard'! Around 100 mixed fruit trees which we largely grafted ourselves thanks to your videos.

    That pole saw has a really nice cut!
    Is it a Silky Fox Hayate Telescopic Pole Saw?
    If not what brandname and model please.

    Hi Stephen, hope your well is it too late to start apple tree grafting?

    • @stephenhayesuk
      @stephenhayesuk  3 года назад +1

      Probably yes, too late. Ideally you cut the scion wood while totally dormant (for me, that's February) Then graft in April.
