This is so insanely simple and easy and i just love you for sharing this! Still a newbie myself, but I've learned so much from you holy shit! Thank you!
Excellent, excellent tutorial. You went pretty in depth, and while a noob like me (to Blender, but not 3d) didn't fully know where everything lives yet, you made the process super clear and provided a great reference for me to come back to later. Cheers mate, you rock.
This is a really good tutorial and I'd love to see more tutorials in this format - especially for hard surface! It wasn't anything super useful to me, but the way it was presented was by far the best i've seen A lot of YT tutorials teach you the tools but don't explain application, or don't do a good job teaching the tools while teaching the application. You did both extremely well
Thank you very kindly 😁 I try my best to explain the tool, the method AND the reasoning, because I remember how difficult it was to learn 3D and Blender when I was starting out. Explaining the value in using a tool is nearly as important as the tool itself sometimes.
A fair warning! When you convert something to a mesh, it is a one way trip, (ctrl+Z barring) so be 100% sure you have a back up, or know what you're going for. I... may have had a few times where I ended up barreling forward and had to do clean up on things that I shouldn't have had to if I took a bit more time on setting it up right in the first place. That said, always know that Blender addons, even ones within Blender itself, do NOT give you options you normally don't have. BUT they save you a lot of time or headache doing the things that the Addons do. And that said, this was honestly a fantastic trick and I hope you all can use it to make some wonderful things. ^^ I... wish I had seen this before finishing my Muggo. ^^; Victory Deuces to you all, and Aloha!
Blender also have an internal quad remesher. It's a bit hidden in the object data tab. But if you remesh it before with voxel remesh but with fixed poles it gives pretty good results. Specially for simple shapes like this.
I tried using the built in quad remesher and my object just disappeared, even with different voxel counts BUT I hadnt tried it with fixed poles. I must give it a shot. Thanks for the tip 😁
@@moltenbolt it won't work on a plane so you kinda have to solidify it before also. I use it a lot for doing a quick retopo in my sculpting pipeline. (it can also give preety good results for assets).
yeessssss, omg i needed that so much, till now i always messed around with 2 subd modifiers at once (one set to simple) it gets a similar result but the mesh is much denser... very good video and cool editing style! oh and 5:33 instead of converting to mesh u can also press ctrl a and click visual geometry to mesh to apply all modifiers...
Thank you! One of the things I love about Blender is that there are several ways to accomplish something. I have "Convert to Mesh" as one of my quick options (when you hit Q on your keyboard) in Object mode, so it's ultra fast to apply modifiers. The process is identical to Visual Geo to Mesh. It's neat that you can get there several ways 😁
@@moltenbolt yep :) any idea how i can use automatic weights for several objects at once? i have this problem very often, for robots etc. they r individual parts (i can join them to 1 object yet thewy r still seperate parts) but id like them to deform together as if they would be one mesh... even tried to deform them with latice and than deform the latice with auto weight bones... no succes yet...
@@bUildYT Hm. Are you rigging the pieces or are you just using parent chains? I'm not sure how automatic weights would work in the absence of a rig tbh. That one's a bit out of my experience
@@moltenbolt nono im using normal rigs and mixamo animations and so on, and deforming the character works fine by a) having 1 mesh like a horse or a shark, or b) having a lot of small robo peaces wich u can parent to 1 bone each individually, the only thing that is not possible (but what id like to do) is deforming the robo parts like horse or shark... as one combined object with automatic weights... but ok, ill find a way:)
@@moltenbolt No, Thank you, Quad Ramesher is exactly what I have been looking for, as someone who would hate retopology, this is basically a miracle, and it's so easy to adjust

Recently I have switched form maya to blender. Can anyone tell me how to select multiple controllers and rotate all of them together while setting up a pose.. for example select all the spine controls and rotate together OR all the finger controllers and rotate together. I tried that in blender but its rotating only the last selected control.. Eagerly waiting for a response. Thanks.
When moving chains of bones, it can sometimes be useful to rotate along the local axis rather than global. So, for instance, instead of pressing R,X to rotate your selected group, try R,X,X to rotate on the X local axis. I'm not sure this will work 100% of the time, but I've had success with it before on some rigs.
Hi I have a problem I want to make games but I can't make my characters I tried many ways and tutorials and they all don't work for me either I am stupid any ways can you make a video that teaches how to do it easiest way possible and texturing and all that good stuff?
