Oh my gosh, I stumbled onto your video and am amazed at your talent--how you figured this technique out is pure genius! I've never tried pouring acrylic much less anything this advanced so even though your explanations were very clear, I still didn't understand all of it. But I sure appreciate the beauty of your creations! My favorite was the one in the center with more gold and as you said, the backs are very different but equally beautiful! I was wondering about your varnish--it sort of looks like you were using a satin finish varnish that's been watered down a bit? Have you ever tried it with a high gloss varnish? I'm asking because when I was painting ornaments (on wood), my friend finally talked me into switching from satin to high gloss and I was stunned at the depth the high gloss gave. Thank you so much for sharing your techniques with us--as I said, you are a genius!

Thanks so much🧡 and if canned air is working for you, then that’s great, if I tried using canned air, I would have paint spraying all over the place😂 I like having the ability to blow in a controlled and measured way and have some control over what I’m doing, I would be afraid with something else I would make a mess😅
I could blow a bit with the straw, but have some serious asthma. I have not tried this yet, I was just commenting that I saw a video some years back and the guy used little spurts of canned air. I think the whole technique is super cool, but not sure I will dig in just yet.

@@LouiseMcKayArt I took a quick look before I had to go out this morning for information on the basic foundation white paint, but couldn’t find it. I see in a lot of pour videos that they speak of “housepaint”, but I’m confused as to what this is. Is it the emulsion that you paint walls with or gloss paint that you paint window-frames with? I’m not from the States or Canada and suspect we may have different terms (maybe just my ignorance) for the same thing. Many thanks. 🥰
@@Richiedei50 I commented in the video and also in the description that my pillow paint is my scrap paint that I have collected over the months from other pours, strained and reused for this. However, you could certainly use straight house paint which I use PPG multi pro 47-3110 or Glidden 6011N which is what we get in the United States. For the pillow paint you want to use something that is either a matt or satin sheen, but it’s regular house paint. I’m not sure what country you’re in or what types of paint you can get but paint in the US should be similar to paint other countries.
Louise… help, please! 😊 I keep watching this video over and over and I just can’t quite figure out what I’m doing wrong but here’s the issue I’m having: I have an order for, Red, Gold and Pearl White! I can do these in every other color but no matter how many reds or different reds I add, as they start to drip, they always turn to pink! 🤦🏼♀️ I have 4 days left to complete this order but if I can’t get it figured out, for the first time ever, I’ll have to call the client and tell them I just couldn’t do it. 😢 ANY suggestions would be so greatly appreciated!! THANK YOU MY FRIEND!!❤
@@LouiseMcKayArt Yes, I actually did!! The first thing I did was, used Sherwin Williams Color to Go in Tricorn Black as my “Pillow paint” and then I used 2 CA’s in Gold and White! Just cutting out some of the whites against the reds, really helped! Thank you again for sharing all your tips and tricks and helping us to make beautiful pieces!
I've tried a lot of recipes, but, yours are definitely the best. I'm amazed at my results!!! I do have one problem being at 7500' above sea level and in high desert: the paint comes to two to four points and then stops. I'm going to very lightly mist the bottom the next time. Thoughts?
Thank you Fran, 💙🩵and I think we all love others a little bit more than our own sometimes. But the ornament makes a huge difference and the technique it makes a huge difference. In my opinion, the Bloom transfer holds up (if you’re looking for cells), much better than a bloom straight on.

Thank you very much😘 Carol , I do have an ornament playlist. If you wanted to check that out, I have a playlist on most of my creations based on category.💙
The drill is brilliant!
Thank you Trudy, 😘it was handy and worked, necessity is the mother of invention!!😊
I’ve been racking my brain on how to do round and the flattened round ornaments, so this video is exactly what I needed. I’ve never done a bloom transfer, but you’ve inspired me to try it. The cordless power drill trick is genius! 🫶🏻
Thank you💙🩵. Necessity is definitely the mother of invention and that’s how I came to using the drill because the Styrofoam holder just was not working at all for me. The Bloom transfer is actually my favorite of all the techniques that I found doing this. Thank you so much for being here. I’m glad I helped.!
Louise you are so clever thinking about using a drill. These are adorable. ❤❤❤. I love the back of each.
Thanks Carolyn❤️🧡, the drill was a game changer for me and when I was first doing these, I was all nervous about the packet, not liking the way they were coming out, but then I just relax and let it just flow, and it made it to an ornament by itself!!
They're absolutely beautiful!,💖💖💖
Thank you so much I would respond more, but we’re in the middle of the Asheville disaster
So pretty and fun
Thank you🧡

Wow what an amazing talent there is no way it’s as easy as you make it look 😊 amazing
Thank you, Diane, it really means a lot because I know if somebody makes something look simple, it usually means they know what they’re doing. I know when I watch the Olympics I feel like I could do that lol no way no chance. But they make it look so easy. Everything takes a little practice to get it down. And for me, my thinking about things makes things more complex than they really are🤣
Stunning Louise. They are a lot of work! Love from NB Canada!
Thanks Brenda, for sure, a lot of work💙🇨🇦
OH MY! Wow. Love this tutorial. I will say that I would name this Stary, Stary Night (from the song)! It reminds me of Picasso and his stary night painting!

Wow and thank you and Welcome! Glad you’re here! I’m glad this was understandable and fyi, I did use gloss varnish, 3 coatings worth. FYI I have an ornaments playlist I’ll link, plus I’ll have another ornament creation out later this week sharing even more tips I’ve just learned for myself! @@sandieyule1644 thank you 💙Sandie, I’ll have more ornaments coming out in the next couple weeks too!
That is so beautiful.
Thank you so much Glenda!🧡
Love this. I saw something similar but they used canned air instead of lung power. But the straw blowing is genius. So beautiful❤
If I'll rich I'll buy all your ornaments for this coming Christmas. Really beautiful Dear Louise. Hope many will order that for you 🙏.

These are absolutely stunning. I was thinking when is she going to turn it over, and how does it not ruin when she does??? 🤣🤣🤣 What a brilliant technique. Thank you so much.🥰
Thank you, Richie, and welcome! Yes, I appreciate that. It’s taking the regular bloom and tweaking a little bit in the application to work on an ornament. FYI, I have playlists for many of my creations if you want to see different functional artist, especially based on category. Thank you for being here.💙
@@LouiseMcKayArt I took a quick look before I had to go out this morning for information on the basic foundation white paint, but couldn’t find it.
@@LouiseMcKayArtYes I understood that, but when you refer to house paint, is it the type you paint walls with or window-frames with? 🥰
@@Richiedei50 walls I suppose, because the finish is matte and satin finish on the paint
Thanks Louise... I'll have to try your method... They turned out beautiful
Thanks so much Lori, more are coming!💙🩵
Did you resolve the problem, curious. Merry Christmas🎄
@@TreesieParadisArt brilliant solution, didn’t even think to use Black!
I've tried a lot of recipes, but, yours are definitely the best. I'm amazed at my results!!! I do have one problem being at 7500' above sea level and in high desert: the paint comes to two to four points and then stops. I'm going to very lightly mist the bottom the next time. Thoughts?
Great, and I don’t understand your 2-4 points comment, what do you mean?
Thank you, I have done so many round ones just by pouring paint, love yours more than mine
Thank you Fran, 💙🩵and I think we all love others a little bit more than our own sometimes. But the ornament makes a huge difference and the technique it makes a huge difference. In my opinion, the Bloom transfer holds up (if you’re looking for cells), much better than a bloom straight on.
LOVE THEM!!
Thank you so much Jan
