@@Mike-r3j3s thank you so much, Carrie. 😘 I personally truly believe that the best antidote for depression is creation. There is nothing like creating something beautiful that otherwise would never have existed without you and seeing it come to life and know that you’ve done it. That is magic!🧡

WOW, I have never seen anything like this! So amazing, so beautiful! Thank you for this awesome tutorial!
Thank you so much Lorraine😘. If you made these tonight, you still have time to have them up on the tree by Christmas. It takes about two days to dry, and then varnish.
Gorgeous Christmas ornaments, Ms Louise 😍💜
Thank you so much 🤎🧡
I will try that. Thank you so much.
Thanks Pam💙
These are FANTASTIC!!!! I cant wait to try this!!! I have round and flatter ones to try this year….SO glad i found your videos!!!!
Thank YOU glad💕 you’re enjoying! Personally the bloom transfer is my favorite! I have 1 more video in this! series of 5
hi these are my favorite of all that you have made - lol of course the hardest of them all - the colors are just stunning - beautiful :)
LOL, of course Lori!!! Thanks so much😘🧡🤎
Very beautifull work 👏 😊
Thank you so much!🧡
very nice vlog... full support..
Thanks so much 💕
Very nice work ma'am.
Thank you so much Kenny😘
Wow. You’ve got it all figured out! I always agonize over thee we backs of the ornaments and now I see a great way to finish the back. Does the dripping leave a drip when it dries and do you have to sand it off? Beautiful ornaments. I’ll have to try it your way. ❤❤❤
Thank you Paula, 🧡I agonized too until I recognize what was just unveiling before me, and I allowed it to happen. It does leave a small nipple, but as it’s drying, I do take a toothpick to it, and I just touch the little nipple off as it’s drying and in the end it’s a tiny. I mean you can see from the back how big it is.
@@LouiseMcKayArt thanks yes they have beautiful underside too.
Beautiful lousie sis loved it ❤
Thanks so much my friend🧡🤎
These were beautiful! I may attempt to try these.
Thank you Juanita 🧡and I hope you create beauties!!
These are beautiful! Christmas is my favorite! Love love love these! ❤
Thank you so much Kathy!😘
Beautiful
Thank you 🤎🧡
Fantastic! Blooms are my nemisis, but i did notice ur paints were quite thick to what i had previously tried. Im thinking maybe thats my problem. They are stunning!
Thank you, 💕these are especially thick bc of the ornament’s shape and gravity pulling. Your consistency between pillow prints snd ca is important
Stunning! Absolutely stunning!
Thanks so much Missy, I appreciate your comment and support! And if you want to see others, i have a playlist you might want to look at:ruclips.net/p/PLD3gEym1bn-MOXsr6zlMMGYn7A4-R7uow&si=fYCDxN-Q9vwUrytF
It's amazing how the colors drip so pretty. How do you not have a dried tip on the bottom?
Thank you, Amber 😘Early in the drying process, I do kind of pull it off with a toothpick to smooth it over some, but most of it just levels out on its own. There might be just a slight raised area, but nothing to be concerned about.🖤🤍
You make these look so easy Louise. Is it a cloth you use for varnishing these and what do you use to use to varnish a painting? I tend to use a cheap bedsheet cut up into pieces and washed several time to get rid of the lint. Is there an easier way? The ornaments at the end are gorgeous! I’ll be back to rewatch for sure ❤
Genius idea with your drill btw 😅
Thank you Marie-Louise, if I make it look east than I’ve arrived! I use a cut up cotton T-shirt to spread the varnish out. I used to use a sponge on paintings but now I’m just started using a T-shirt, it’s very easy, no big deal as long as you have a T-shirt that is not shedding any fibers.
Thank you about the ornaments, yes, follow the whole series that starts with the first one. That’s very easy on a flat which is video 275. then I do a bloom transfer and a bloom on a disc, and following, this video will be another round just doing a Bloom! And yes, that drill is perfect because it holds the weight of the paint without sagging, and I trust it to be very stable and secure
@@LouiseMcKayArt perfect. Thank you Louise. A t shirt sounds perfect. I will definitely be watching the series. It’s so handy with the numbering. Thank you. Lots of had work and fun, no doubt🥰
@@Marie-LouiseArt the only hard work is in the editing!
What type of varnish was used? 🙂
Just found you today. I'm enthralled by your craft. Question... you use a medicine dropper to lay down the base colour (pillow). Could you dip the ornament in a bucket of paint instead? Can't wait to try this. Thank you for your videos.
Hello and welcome! Be sure to check out my playlist as I have lots of my functional art broken down by category. And since doing this video last year, you should see my videos from this year. I don’t use the medicine dropper anymore, I just pour it on and then rub it around. If you look at some recent videos you’ll see. You could dunk the ornament as well, but they probably would end up putting too much paint on as you don’t need a whole lot. Welcome ruclips.net/p/PLD3gEym1bn-MOXsr6zlMMGYn7A4-R7uow&si=YkRMTqh2qziRvrS8
Hi Louise! New subscriber here! Love the ornaments!! ❤️ 🎄 🤶🏼🎅🏼
Would dipping the ornaments into a medium first be easier? Only curious! Beautiful!
@@phughesphoto hi Phugh and welcome! Yes, this was my first batch of ornaments doing this technique last year now I do it differently and more efficiently. If you check out any of my creations from this year, all I do now is just pour the pillow paint on directly, and then I go from there. Tipping is one way to do it, although I think you’re gonna end up with way too much paint as a pillow on there and you’ll be dripping for a long time afterwards. Check out my playlists I have lots of functional art like jars, Lazy Susan’s, coasters, clocks, charcuterie, boards, a lot of different things that you could create as gifts. I will link my playlist for ornaments here and you can see some of the most recent ornaments I created, with even more tips from what I’ve learned over the past few months. I’ve posted just in the last couple weeks. Enjoy and again thank you so much for being here. I hope you continue to enjoy my content! ruclips.net/p/PLD3gEym1bn-MOXsr6zlMMGYn7A4-R7uow&si=A53kXfGQZvwebP4e
Hi Louise. I’ve been looking and looking for a craft to do with my 6 grandkids for our upcoming Christmas craft day.
I just love these but got concerned when you said that these are the most difficult. 😬
Any thoughts/ideas on how to do these in any easier of a way?
Went be able to use drill idea as we only have 2.
I’m probably asking for the impossible. Lol ❤
If you wanna do the blue technique, just blow directly on the ornament itself and it won’t be as nice as the transfer but you can still get good composition anyway. Or just go with a basic paint/pouring medium look up ornaments using a straight pour.
@ Thank you so much Louise. I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving
What kind of paint and varnish do you use? These ornaments are amazing!
All the paints and information details about the video are listed in the description. If you just click on the title, a drop-down will show up where you can see more and everything’s listed there. The varnish I use is Liquitex high gloss varnish with water at a ratio of about 80% varnish to 20% water.
they turned out stunning! do you end up with a large drip that sets from where its drip drying?
Thank you, I kind of babysit as it’s drying, and I kinda use a toothpick to coax the drip into a smaller drip if you know what I mean
Hi Louise I just found your video. WOW!! I love your work. I am a senior citizen and I don’t think I could do that. Limited space in my apartment and I would be a little afraid of trying to get one done. They are very beautiful. Do you sell any of them? Enjoyed watching you create. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Hello Gayle, thank you for finding me, I’m always mystified as to how people find me on YT😅 . I sell all my creations, but honestly with the ornaments, I didn’t even try to sell any of these ornaments last year so they’re up for grabs. Thank you for stopping by!!
@@LouiseMcKayArt I would love to buy some ornaments. Let me know how we can do this. And of course the price of them. Thank you. 😊
@@gayle4100 hi Gayle. If you go to my description, my email is in there just email me we can communicate that way. I’ll need to know what colors you’re looking at which style you liked and then I’ve gotta figure out if I can even get ornaments.😅 I do have these that I made last year as I gave a few away and just boxed up the rest for this year. Just let me know.
So so beautiful 😍 but how do you get them off the screwdriver without destroy them? Do you have a video of it?
Thank you, I just loosen this skewer off the screwdriver put them away to dry. I show my drying table in this video if this might help. ruclips.net/video/SkdbBmXGFTc/видео.htmlsi=TD_ESa3om9BXpeLb
Is there a place that tells how to mix the paints? These are beautiful
Thank you, Trish, actually I don’t have a paint mixing video, but I do have a pouring medium mixing video. It’s video 140. And that video I am using Gliddon 6413N with Minwax, I now currently use Valspar 833124 with Minwax semi gloss varnish. You raise a good point I probably should make a paint mixing video. But with the pouring medium, I mix my paints at roughly 2-3 parts pouring medium to one part paint. I hope that makes sense. The consistency of the paint is when I mix it with the pouring medium. I look for about a 2 to 32 trace when I drizzle the paint off the stick into the mixed up paint cup. Either way if you wanna check out my video 140 it tells you how I makes my PM.
Hi Louise. I have been trying this and my gravity is not pulling my paint down all the way in the back ( which makes it look much more finished). I do use the ppg base paint like you do. I’m wondering what pm your mixing your colors with? Your colors stay vibrant, and the paint runs down fast enough to get the gravity to make that nice finished look in the bottom side. Thank you for being so helpful. Your work is so beautiful 🌺🌿
Thanks Debbie🧡🤎 in this case I used strained scraps for the base/pillow and my PM is Valspar 833124 high gloss base C with minwax 3:1 and where the paint isn’t flowing down freely I pull it a little with a toothpick, it all should be in the video or description
Thanks Louise
excuse the question. How long do you wait to varnish after you do pour on the xmas balls?
Hi Raquel, about 3 days. Check out my ornaments playlist I cover a lot of detail and tips in this years ornaments. ruclips.net/p/PLD3gEym1bn-MOXsr6zlMMGYn7A4-R7uow&si=YkRMTqh2qziRvrS8
Hi. For 80:20 for the varnish mix , let say 1 cup of varnish and 1/4 cup of water?
That’s probably close enough it doesn’t have to be exact
I have one other question. How can I thicken up the pillow paint?
Take the lid off a couple days in between stirring it every few hours or so just to keep it constituted, it’ll thicken
What do you do with the "point" on the bottom (back side)?
As it drips I coax the extra paint off with a toothpick kindof catching it and pulling it off minimizing the ‘point’ remaining
At the bottom does the drip flatten out? Mine seems to dry with a point
As it dries, there is a point that develops, but if you just wipe it dab it with a toothpick back-and-forth for the first few hours afterward, it usually settles down and is mostly flat, but there’s usually a little bit of a nipple afterward, but to me that doesn’t bother me and doesn’t seem to bother other people either, provides a little bit of texture to it😅
How and where did you get corks in the right size
@@debvoso9490 hi Deb, standard wine cork from a wine bar. Ornaments off Amazon with wide opening, I think I have the link in The description
What type of varnish did you use?
@@JamieMillen the combination of liquidtex gloss varnish with water ratio of 80%: 20%. FYI, if you look in the description by clicking on the title, a lot of information shows up in the details.
Do you sell these? They are GORGEOUS!
@@conniesisco6468 hi Connie, yes I just put out a video on Monday. I’ll link below and all 15 of those were on commission. Here is the link to those and I can do any kind any colors….ruclips.net/video/ANsyXjxNldI/видео.htmlsi=BpaqKLAWOMH3UyUN

@@conniesisco6468 if you are interested in me making you some just email me. My email is in the description. Thank you and enjoy!
@@LouiseMcKayArt Thank you! I’m checking out your website now!
@@conniesisco6468 hi Connie, I don’t really keep my website up. I’m very bad with that, usually if somebody wants to order something, they just contact me directly and I work it out between us.
What do you sell them for?
I haven’t sold any yet. For the glass rounds I’d probably ask between $8-$10 each fully dolled up
What does “ get some bloom” mean?
Hi Lorraine, I’m not sure where that is in the tutorial, but this is the bloom recipe and bloom technique so I may have been referring to that.
What kind of varnish is this t?
@@deelight5583 Liquitex gloss varnish
