0 no red standby light-check powercord or bad main logic board or power board, check standby volts
1 red blink not used
2 red flashes is bad power board, solution replace power board
3 red flashes is bad main logic or power board, check for standby volts if ok replace main logic board
4 red blinks- can be LD board or main logic board, check inverter board wires for arcing to ground
5 red flashes- bad lcd panel connection or internal lcd short- squeeze bezel to locate bad connection
6 red flashes- backlight issue, bad main board, or power board or inverter boards- check standby volts on power board. "backlight on" volts should be 3-5v from main logic board then 24v to inverter
7 red flashes- main board over heating, can be short on power board or main logic board
8 red flashes- main board sp prot, try power reset, update with usb, or replace main logic board
9 blinks- check fan error, * if TV has fans
10 blinks- digital board or tuner board * some Sony TVs may not have this board
11 red flashes- bad main board, bad IC, replace main logic board
12 red light flashes is tcon error bad T-con board or bad LCD panel, replace tcon board usually
13 red flashing is backlight balance error bad lcd panel or inverter boards (common) or bal board on kdl-52v4100 only, replace inverter board usually then main logic board
14 red flashes HFR- bad TCON or Bad LCD panel, replace tcon board. unplug tcon board if tv stays on without tcon board replace tcon board. "como sony tv reparación"

Thanks for this. My Sony kdl-46ex720 has 2 flashing red lights, but I can get it to come on if I unplug / replug it. Went ahead and purchased a replacement power board (~$80) and control board (just in case, and only ~$20) so this troubleshooting guide was very helpful to me!

didn't even realize to "count" the red blinking light. Mine was the four. Now I have to determine what "LD board or main logic board, check inverter board wires for arching to ground 4 x red blinking light" means next. The picture comes in and out a lot. This TV was purchased in 2002. Guess it's time to upgrade to a flatter screen. I did all the unplug and wait, etc. Even switched the white video cable (prev research suggestion) from other TV and it was even worse. Put back on the old one. Your video got me to the next stage. TV too heavy to get to a shop or even out the door, but I can roll it over to another area and get a new stand and TV in its place. Thank you.

I had 6 flashing red lights on Sony Bravia KDL-48W705C then I did factory reset twice and the second time it worked because I hammered on the physical buttons on the back of the tv while it was booting up.

In case anyone was wondering; Two green blinks followed by two red blinks - relates to the fan component on KF60SX300. Dissembled the rear, removed the fan and gave it a good clean. Reassembled and now its all working. Happy Days :)

Hi. I've got a Sony 32inch KDL TV with 3 x red blinking LED's. Looked at many You Tube vids and all seem to indicate the main power or logic board. I've already swapped out the main board but still the same issue, tried a soft/hard reset and still the same. Any ideas or are we looking at the main screen gone and its a throw away job? Hey Tampatec, thanks for the video. I have a sony kdl-52v4100 that does the 14 blinking red flashes. I disconnected the T-con board as you mentioned and it did stayed on. I replaced the T-con board but it still gives me the 14 flashes again with the new board. Could the new T-con board also be bad?

Hello and thank you for all the great info. I have a Sony Bravia XBR65X900C. If you turn the tv on it barely finishes loading the Android sign when the bottom section of the tv starts flashing like 5 inch portions of the led lights they alternate or pulsate right to left or vise versa and then the tv shuts off and I get Standby 4 blinking red light. Checked error codes in the tv and it shows LD error as only problem TV sees. I replaced the LD board with a new one and that did not fix the issue. I saw in the service manual where it shows to check R9027 for 0.897 volts or less or a volt or between 0.898v to 2.997v. I have yet to check for the voltages but I am not familiar with what the B & G boards are. Also I read somewhere it may have been on one of your videos to check for shorts to ground on some wires, where would I look on which board for those possible wire shorts. Thank you for any help. I have the tv open and tried to replace the power, but that did not fix the problem. Where does the LCD connection happen?
I am a pretty good technician but have never worked on LCD TV's exclusively. I just got a non-working Sony Bravia KDL-55NX720 and it's got 4 flashes. It comes on about 4 secs. and the screen is a bit dim but it works that long before it flashes the red code. It will flash forever 4 times unless the power is pulled. At that point it will do the same thing again, come on 4 seconds. My question is what is more likely to be the failed part in your experience? The LED Driver Bd., the T-Con Bd, or bad back-light LED(s) on the inside of the panel? I have repaired one LG TV that I had to remove the panel itself and replace 3 LEDS in it. It's is absolutely the worst repair possible and on this particular Sony TV, it looks even more difficult! So please point me in the right direction as to the most common 4 LED failure mode on this particular model. If it's one of the boards I'll take a chance on ordering it, but if it's a back-light LED, I might as well just dig in and get it over with and start dismantling the screen itself. Then send away to Hong Kong for the replacement LED's. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi, helpful video. I have a KDL 55HX820 with 4 blinks. The power/reboot methods have not fixed the problem, so it looks like the TV has a true problem. When the TV is turned on, it stays on for around 10 seconds before shut down and 4 blinks. During that time I an tell that there are multiple 3-4 large shadows along the bottom edge of the screen. It used to have one of these shadows prior to the shut-down/blink issue. Does this help identify that the problem is the LD board vs. main logic board? Or does this mean that the LED failure is causing the system failure? Is replacing a board and possibly the LED back lights a feasible solution? I appreciate any reply you can make to illuminate the problem and solution further.

I have a KDL 55EX501, I got 6-blinks so I replaced the inverter board. Now when I power on the TV I get a loud buzz from the large component on the D1 board (the inverter transformer?), I see the sony logo, then the power resets. This process repeats 3 times before shutting off and back to the 6 red blinks. Any suggestions? Thanks!

A Sony 940E works for half an hour then shuts down with 6 flashes. if you leave the set off for a few hours, it will turn on and again work for about a half hour then shuts down with 6 flashes. in your experience, if the panel works momentarily like this, would you consider the panel and back light OK? I have a Sony Bravia KDL XBR 4 52"and I have 3 red flashes...I unplugged it for a few seconds, it did not work. I unplugged it and let it sit for 10 minutes, replug now it works. My TV is awesome, still quite old. It's big, it has that transparent bezel, and it weights 50 kg so repairing it is not easy. I am happy the unplugging worked. Actually it happened before, and the restarting worked.

I'm working with a Bravia XRB 55x850a. Have 3 blinking red, so checked the STDBY power to main board. Was good at even 3.3 volts, so decided to purchase a new main board. But plugging the new main board in just now it does the same thing (3 red blinks).
Any chance something else is frying the main board when I put it in or causing the 3 red blinks in some other way?
FYI, I ordered the main board online from Union Electronic Distributors.

Further details. When I plug it in and push the power button after being disconnected from power for a few minutes I get a click and the white LED light briefly comes on (1-2 seconds), followed by a green-red-green-red-green-red combination of flashes for about 10-20 seconds, I counted 21 sets of flashes all together (The red color may actually be amber). After that time the LED goes dark but periodically flashes the set of 3 red.

I just fixed the 4 red blinking light issue on my Sony Bravia xbr-65x900c, thanks to your video. However, now it has shading areas flashing across the picture. After awhile it goes away. But what is causing this and how can I fix that?

Dear good day! I have a Sony Bravia KDL 40EX525 TV with the following problem: I connect the power grid lights Standby red light. When I trigger Power light and the screen starts off, you can see the title before deleting, it is very fast after that flashes Standby 6 times. I've done tests as a colleague suggests the Service Manual but problem persists. I noticed that before starting up the power (standby red LED on) voltages are all correct 12V and 3.3V, but after the power voltage trigger some of t-con and main BATV plates.

Hey Tampatec, thanks for this video. A kdl-46HX800 came into my shop today with the 4 blink code. The led inverter board supplys voltage with four small ribbon cables. I have not seen this before. the board part # is ssl460el-s01 rev 2.0. i unplugged the two connectors coming from the power supply and t-con board and was able to get it to turn on. I updated it then but no luck. under 4 blinks it say LD board? I am assuming this is the inverter board right? any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!!
yes LD board is led driver board 4 blink code, this tv doesn't have inverter board cause the backlight is led not ccfl tubes but first check your connections to ld board if ok replace ld board. good luck

Thanks, I can leave the power supply lead plugged into the LD board but there is a lead that goes from the t-con to the LD board and if I unplug it tv powers on. However a flash light test on the panel does not show an image. The LD board is 25 on eBay. I may try it first.

what's your opinion on buying extended warranties on today's flat screens? i'm looking to get a 70".
you can replace a tv board for around $50-150 yourself, the extended warranty is $200 for 3 years don't do it. Just sub to my channel I will help you fix most lcd tvs for free.

Definitely do not do it for sony. When your TV breaks underwarranty you have to call them repeatedly and they lie to you on the phone. I called 5 or 6 times initially tell you to go the website and talk with repair chat guy. (basically they want you to give up, power on , power off oh did that fix it ? factory reset ? 57 times) After you get a case # , send in pictures of Serial Number , provide blood of virgin, and testimony of Alamo survivor they help you out. Then they offer to swap a TV with you that is not even same model. ( like lower cost one they fixed.) So they replace your broken TV with broken used "refurbished" TV they fixed with 90 day warranty only. Once you threaten class action or lawsuit small claims they might fix the TV.
Joshua Nava Not talking bad about best buy though. They have fixed plenty of items with no hassles. Maybe thats the better option with warranty support use a third party like them.

I know this is an older video but had a question. I bypassed the BL error by grounding this pin and now im getting dim leds on the sides of my tv. KDL-70w840b. Ive replaced the backlights and inverter board but no change. Any way to bypass this error without replacing the mainboard?
Greetings Tampatec! I have sony KF60SX300, this evening I turned it on and to my surprise no audio/video. Instead I see two green led blinks, followed by two red led blinks - and it continues to do the same. I have power cycled it a few times and no joy. Before I take it apart I was wondering if you had any idea's? The service manual is not clear but could mentions error code 2 = FAN PROT? (protector??) Any idea? Also I noticed the lamp indicator on the front, remains of and does not flash, so I'm hoping it's not that and nothing too serious. If you get a chance would love to hear back. Cheers.
i have the Sony Bravia KDL-46EX400.. Green light comes on, no picture whatsoever, this happens like once in a blue moon, i unplug it and let it sit for a day or two and everything is fine, i don't quite understand what causes this though.

Hi.. do you have any videos for blink codes for the Sony xbr2? Getting 2 blinking after about an hour. TV pop up says its overheating. This bulb was installed about 6 mons ago. Aftermarket bulb. Could it be a fan even tho 2 blinks is not a fan code? Thank you
Do these codes apply to the XBR 900C series? I have a two year old XBR55X900C and it shut down and is blinking red 4 times. I got the set to come back on and work for a over a week but now it is back to just blinking 4 times. This sounds like a power issue?
🙋Hope you can help but I'm not sure. It appears to be some type of anomaly going on with my song bravia tv model kdl-40vl130. I actually have the #1 error code off this list. When I power the tv on the standby light flashes only 1 time like every 30 seconds, it's very strange. Not sure what else to do I've checked the bulbs & replaced two of them. Yes, T-con board is very common problem for Sony KDL models. Get tv parts from shopjimmy.com don't buy from eBay because I got many bad boards from there.
@@TampaTec thankyou for your response kind sir i ended up finding the exact service manual for my specific TV and it seems that i need to replace either the BGA board or the LVDS harness i dont understand what either of those bits are but i think ive locatd the BGA board using the manual could you please explain to me what an LVDS harness is thankyou for your time :) also thankyou for that website il be sure to use it when i get my replacement parts

This Bravia repair Homepage is really excellent and unique. The Sony-company refuses any informations about error codes and told me that spare-parts are not available any more. 4 months ago I got on a sony Bravia KDL.46W5800 the error code 14. I bought the recommended T-Con board, installed it and the error was gone. Unfortunately I saw just one hour ago the code 10. The prognosis is a defect Tuner or digital board. I restaret the TV and it was ok. But it will surely come back again and finally will not disappear. Does anyboady have an idea where to get the tuner and/or Digital board for the Bravia ?

I tried everything and it finally worked when I held the up button on the tv changer then pressed the power button on ( from the tv) it took a few try's and messing around out of frustration but it finally worked. I guess it's a manual reset or something ? Worked tho

I have also had the problem with standby mode, 7 flashing lights. Turned tv off and on via remote and disconnecting the plug. When I turned TV back on, would happen again after a few minutes. Noticed the apps I was using were still fully loaded. Meaning tv hadn't powered down correctly by using remote or button at the back and even disconnection of plug.

My Sony 46hx805 keeps getting stuck in standby, I get the 4 red standby blinks, after I turn it on.
I've done the reset, and some times it fixes it, but not always. Sometimes it won't work for days.
Yesterday I took the back off and looked inside, I discontented the inverter board, plugged it in and it started up with no picture.
Then I reconnected the inverter, and started it up, it worked perfectly.
I don't know if it was just luck or if the inverter is faulty.
I have read it could be the tcon or the power supply, any tips how to find the fault?

Can you force update via USB, without using the menu? After a hard reset, my TV freeze and reset again. It is not possible to update via menus. My TV is a KDL-55W805
Hi I have a Sony KDL-55x800 TV that doesnt turn on, the TV does get power, and when I press the power button the green light goes on for 3 seconds then goes back to red. I removed the back to try to diagnose it, and I do get 3.3v from the power board, when I press the power I can hear it click then click back off, I was curious if there is anything else I should look into?
I have a seiki 47 inch led tv. The tv powers on, has audio, and you can very faintly see shadowy images on the screen. I was told I need to get this part: Seiki 890-PM0-4701 Power Supply / LED Board for SE47FY19. If I replace that whole board will it fix my problem?

Very helpful video! Thank you very much. I have a Sony Bravia KDF-50E3000. i saw your video and at first my TV had informed me that the lamp life was at its end limit. I purchased a lamp from Walmart, replaced the lamp. now it is flashing 6 times. I then reinserted the old lamp and now there is no picture, but the green power light is on. Does it matter what type of lamp I get? Please let me know. Richard
Sony KDL-55HX729. I'm presently t'shooting a very strange problem:
Solid red standby LED when TV is plugged into wall--which is the normal and expected operation of all Bravia TVs
But after I power on the TV, the red standby LED goes dark and the TV is dead. After I unplug/plug-in the TV, the red standby LED glows solid. When I power on the TV, the red standby LED goes dark again and the TV is dead. The only way to restore the standby LED is to unplug/plug-in the TV and NOT by simply toggling the power button. This behavior is consistent.
I cannot find ANY information that matches my experience with this TV. Any thoughts, suggestions?

kdl-46ex701 red led was flashing 2x, replaced power supply now it attempts to start two times and then flashes 6 times before shutting down.
I have a Sony Bravia LED TV, model KLD-40R483B, It switches on, I get the sony logo and the screen goes off, sony logo appears twice then it shuts down and I then get the 6 red blinking lights. Any suggestions on what the issue could be?

my Sony 40W600B was 5 time red blinking, then I follow the suggest of you, I cleaned 51 connector cable than my TV not blinking, like normal green, coming sound from television channel but the screen no picture, I push the screen shown white bright mean backlight look like normal, can you suggest me what can I do ?

Hey +Tampatec !I found your video because I was looking for some help. I own a Sony KDL-40EX600 since 2009. Until now, I have never experienced any issue, it worked like a charm.
But yesterday, when I was using it, I saw the red led blinking, without even interrupting the system at all, or creating any display glitches. But what can look surprising is that the power led was blinking 18 times, then stopped, then 18 times again and so on... !
I turned my TV off, and it just carried on until the TV was completely in standby mode. Then I turned it on again, and the problem vanished...I have no idea of where it could come from, as the TV seems to have no problem, but it doesn't look that normal... Do you have any idea or information about this strange error code ?Thanks in advance ! :)
unplug power cord for one minute to reset tv, if that doesn't work try unplug tv again and unplug tcon board then plug in tv power if tv stays on without the tcon board then replace it.

Yeah, I already did all that stuff just in order to prevent any issue, because the fact is that I didn't encounter any problem ! The TV worked like a charm and flawlessly even when the LED was blinking !
I just wanted to know what the hell my TV wants to tell me when it blinks 18 times ! :'D
+Tampatec how do you unplug the tcon board since I am not a tech person? Isn't it time to buy a new TV?

Hi. I have a KDL model and I have the same issue except I replaced the t-con and it still doesnt stay on. I disconnected the t-con from the power and the issue continues. It would turn on for a couple seconds and then shuts down and blinks 14 times. I am stuck with finding the solution. Can you please help me. thank you in advance
i have a sony kds60xbr1 and i get three red lights after replacing the lamp.i also get a buzzing sound and a bright flashing from the board that has a component labeled f100.what can i do?i lost the screw to the lamp cover door.could this be the issue?please let me know if i should trash this tv or if it is worth fixing?i spent 100 on it,20 on the lamp after it went out after a few weeks of using it.thanks in advance!!!
I tried everything and it finally worked when I held the up button on the tv changer then pressed the power button on ( from the tv) it took a few try's and messing around out of frustration but it finally worked. I guess it's a manual reset or something ? Worked tho
Have Bravia KLV-S40A10 Ser.7015676 manufactured Jan'06.
Power failure in area. Red lights blinked after power returned. Sound but no pic. Slight attempt to return then black/or blank screen. Unplugging reset does nothing. Have not tried power reset yet.
Can you give me a solution or make a video of my problem could really use some help thank you
