Thanks for posting this, love the tone of your mandolin
My husband bought me my first Mandolin and due to stupidity I never really picked it up for a long time. I come from a long line of musicians, starting from a great great grandfather who was a preacher who taught all his girls an instrument in church. My daddy learned to play guitar on a cigar box with rubber bands until My pawpaw saw how much he was really going to be interested in playing it. I am now picking my Mandolin up and will never put it down again, and thanks to seeing your videos I will definitely be learning from You. This is really important to me in so many ways. Thanks for your time and videos!!
How sweet, you are too kind! Glad you are enjoying the mandolin. You will have it to enjoy the rest of your life. Thanks.
I'm almost 50 and been playing for couple of years . Not real good but it nice when I can express myself. Thanks buddy
Beautiful mandolin.
Thanks Pablo, it’s a Gibson F-2 built in 1922.
Dude you have amazing mandolin tutorials you go full in detail
Awesome keep up the work.
His slide guitar in open tunings have helped me unbelievably. The man and his channel are a gift from music God’s.
Thank you sir. I bought a Mandolin last week so I starting to learn. I have this down pat and can use those double stops for other songs. Great work.
You’re welcome. Yes, those two finger positions will really come in handy. Try them off a C chord on the 2nd and 3rd strings.
You ae a good teacher. I understand all. I can play it now. Thank you very much.
Glad to help. You’re very welcome Karina.

brilliant......thanks
Very welcome!
well done
Glad it was helpful.
I admit that I didn't pay attention to the tune because I was mesmerized by that beautiful mandolin. You didn't show the headstock but we all know what it is.
F-2 1922
@@jcurtis30water Thank you. I have a 1920 A2 and am more of an A guy, but I could learn to like scrolls on a vintage Gibby.
Please do a tutorial for winterbourne- sunrise the mandolin on it is amazing I would love to learn it
Hi Ines, Sunrise uses the same chords as this tune. G, C, D & Em. The verse is 2 measures of C followed by 2 measures of C then they repeat . On everybody waits thay go to Em for a measure followed by C for a measure then G for 2 measures, the they repeat the Em to C to G. When they are on the G chord the mandolin is playing a figure much like the solo that i show here. Fool around with your mandolin and see what you discover!
this is fantastic! would you be willing to post a peace train tutorial for mandolin?
It's on my list. It might be a while. Thanks for your interest!
Can you do a tutorial of Randy Newman - You Got A Friend In Me on the mandolin? Please. I tired to learn it by ear but I'm not that good yet.
OK, great tune! I'll try to post it soon.
Just posted 2 versions. Hope they help.
I have an F4 mandolin coming today!
Nice!! Hope it’s a gooden.
And to think I know all these damn chords! I was just to stupid to figure out they can make this tune lol
nice lesson. What mandolin you have. What mandolin is good for begginer.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. I have a couple of old Gibson mandolins from the 1920s. Check out Eldery instruments website. They have many good choices for beginning mandolin.
@@jcurtis30water I have a 1950s Kay mandolin electric/acoustic
Bless your heart
My fingers are too tint but..
You can do it!
What years the F4? Sounds good.
It’s an F-2 1922, thanks.
What size plectrum do you use? Dunlop .60mm?
I like the Dunlop delrin picks. I tend to go a little heavier, maybe 72 - 80.
every unclean tone reminds me of my guitar player's experiences with mandolins.
they're tiny but loud, and making chords sound clear takes the hands of a blacksmith or iron fingermails. feels like playing on an egg slicer at first.
I guess I am pretty randomly asking but does anyone know a good place to watch new series online?
@Brayan Colin lately I have been using FlixZone. Just google for it :)
@Josiah Jon yup, been watching on Flixzone for years myself =)
@Josiah Jon thanks, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) I really appreciate it!
@Brayan Colin No problem :D
Why is strum pattern for the knock knocking on heads door part?
? Not sure what you mean. But you can use the same strum pattern for the verse and chorus.
On the chorus I try to accent the melody a little more.
Is that an old F4 Mandolin?
It’s an F-2. The F-4 has more inlay.
Where can i find this guitar ???
It’s a mandolin. Do you mean where can I find how to play this on guitar?
That’s a mandolin
