Great review thank you. This looks beautiful. Love that inner front cover. I’m a big fan of Simone’s work that I have read so far and am going to have to promote this up the “to read” pile. Not usually keen on supernatural stuff but the art in this looks excellent so really looking forward to it.
It's a very character-driven run, the way Simone develops Barbara as the stories go on and we see how she's affected as a character because of these experiences is more important than the specific story arcs themselves I'd say. At least that's what I most enjoyed about it. Great art throughout though, definitely.
@@TheComicBookTrove I haven’t read much from Gail Simone but I know she’s very prolific. I’ve got to say I Really have enjoyed the issues I’ve read of this run thus far. It’s so tempting to want to invest in this omnibus, particularly after you’re great review!
This may be an odd question, but as someone who’s (fairly) recent to collected editions, I have something to ask. I have the Batman by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale omnibus and despite the great story I found the size of the book made it a bit of a pain to read and it made me fairly nervous. I think I could enjoy the format if they were a little bit thinner, or much smaller like the Grant Morrison Batman omnibuses, and was wondering what the size of this one was like. Great video!
That's fair, they're big books and I know they're not suited to everyone's reading style. This book is thinner than the Loeb & Sale Omnibus, but only slightly, they're a very similar size
There isn't an omnibus or series that focuses specifically on her as Oracle that I'm aware of. I'd say the closest a series got to doing that was Simone's Birds of Prey run, which would be great to get in an Omnibus some day. Thanks for watching!
