Sweet! I still gotta wait for mine,got an Amazon "sorry,delayed" email a few days ago but am excited for this series after reading the New 52 series which catapulted The B-Girl straight into my top 5 fave DC characters after only reading the first few issues,being in a wheelchair myself that series went straight to my heart and I must admit,brought tears to my eyes. Personally some very touching pages/panels in there to read. ❤
Definitely a much different run than Gail Simone's run. I currently own the Simone run in omnibus format, and it was a great read. I probably won't be getting this. However, if there's one Batgirl omnibus I'd love to see get printed, it's Batgirl by Bryan Q. Miller 🙌 I currently have that run in trades.
While Barbara Gordon being wheelchair bound was retcon, it came with a catch. The device that helps her move gets destroyed in Joker War and then repaired with a line saying, this can't really happen again. I like her both as Oracle and Batgirl and now a mentor to the two Batgirls.
I purchased the Hardcover of Batgirl of Burnside years ago when I first went to Comic-Con. It was such a wild reinvention of Barbara Gordon’s alter-ego but I really loved it. At heart, Barbara has always possessed a light that Bruce Wayne and other Bat-Family members can never have. So the colourful, vibrant tone of Cameron Stewart, Brendan Fletcher & Babs Tarr’s work suited Barbara. And I think it resulted in a run that helped evolve Batgirl’s legacy in a wonderful way. The costume redesign was great as well. It really grew on me. And this omnibus looks a fine celebration of the Burnside era for Batgirl. Great vid, mate! 👍🏻
Since I was a kid I’ve been a huge fan of Batman & the Bat Family so this is an easy yes for me. Batgirl’s costume in this reminds me of the outfit she wore in the 60’s Adam West Batman show. I wish DC would follow Marvel’s example with omnibi. There needs to be table of contents, page numbers are nice & keep issue numbers/titles on covers so I know what I’m reading. Thanks for the great overview as always Omar.
I'm a lifelong Barbara Gordon fan, always will be. Gail Simone's run on the title cast a very, very tall shadow that this run could not live up to on any level, in my opinion. That said, I would consider buying this just to support the fact that DC is making an effort to publish omnis. I'm happy for those that are happy to see this book.
I quite enjoyed this run as TPBs, it was just as said, very jarring when storywise it happens RIGHT after Gail Simone's run and the events in those stories. Taken as its own thing, it's pretty fun. Really glad to see they included the Endgame one-shot after all!

The Burnside years are just okay. If you just want to know what happens after Simone’s run in New 52 continuity then I guess purchase it, but $100 for a smaller Omni is way too expensive IMO
I was going to pass on this, but two things changed my mind: 1) The design of the book is gorgeous! 2) You mentioned the tone felt similar to "Scott Pilgrim." I'm curious about what you mean? The only thing holding me back is the amount of allegations against Cameron Stewart. It's very hard for me to separate writer from work, and the controversy with him is unacceptable (I'm surprised DC printed this book, in that regard). But, I love the artwork, I disliked the change to Barbara, but...I'm not sure.
Any Bat-content is good content edit: its funny you could tell the binding wasn't up to standard straight away by how Omar's left hand was holding on to the pages and wouldn't let go. Still gonna get it (because I'm a Bat-family completionist )but seems slightly overpriced considering the first volume is the same retail price and almost double the content.

And for pre-orders, Amazon almost never gives you a good enough discount. So that being said, yeah a 50 or even 42% discount would be good enough for me too
Where are my Supergirl Omnies Omar? i need my supergirl omnies. or any run collected in Hardcover, specially the last one, that was cut short two issues to early
Finished the Simone run recently and rather enjoyed it, so I am stoked for more Barbara! Hopefully we get Rebirth Batgirl and Rebirth Birds of Prey omnis (and one day Dixon/Simone Birds of Prey).
Waiting for my copy to arrive. What bugs me is the font on the spine. It's unnecessarily compressed to the point of almost being illegible at first glance. Just a nitpick, though.
I really like the art in the other Batgirl omnibus and will order that one, unfortunately I am not sure about this one, and will pass on this one. But great informative video as always.

Hey DC...How about a reprint of : GOTHAM CITY SIRENS OMNIBUS by Paul Dini?? As for this omni, Its a so so run for younger readers but I would not recommend it to adults,but,thats just me. Like the cover art,but the $ is a little high given the content amount,etc.
I use to pick this series up weekly when it was out. I had to stop reading the series. I just could not get into the story. It was a little boring for me. But the omni looks nice.
The art work and story on this one is a clear step down from the previous omni. I’ll still be getting to complete the new 52 run and my bat family addiction. 👌🏻
I wish someone would do a review on the 50th Anniversary hardcover book on her. I am literally enraged how bad the artwork on the cover of that was. It looks like a ten year old drew it. Except a ten year old probably could have done significantly better...
I picked up most of this run in the quarter bin a couple of years ago because I like the art, but the writing is so inane and childish, and the price point is ridiculous. Pass.
I remember dropping this run 4 issues in. Why does this book get a 99$ price tag? Crazy DC. Upcharging all their newer omnis without any quality support. Smh
There's something about this Batgirl run that pulls me away from it when compared to the other new 52 run. The art and character design seems to be too trendy and current era for my taste. As if its a comic book meant to be for YAs which I'm not into TBH. I prefer the more brooding and edgy Batman stuff.

I went to buy B.Y.O a few months ago (prob cauas of his video) and it disappeared.
I luckily bought Batgirl Year One deluxe as one of my first comics a few years ago, because today it's literally nowhere to be found.

(Jay RoC) they did this with black Canary at that time as well were that title had similar art style & Jem & the holograms feel to it

I’m on the fence given Stewart’s sex pest allegations and the fact that Tarr didn’t really draw this series as much as traced over Stewart’s layouts

This is where I dropped Batgirl, seemed like they were trying to appeal to 13-16 year old girls, nothing wrong with that but not for me.
